First of all, thank you for this video.... its much appreciated seeing the quick way to removing the headlight on the RR Evoque. I bought a brand new pair of LED Xenons to replace my original LED Xenons, simply because the clear plastic lens covers started to deteriorate (losing transparency) from years of being exposed to the harsh UV rays of the sun here in Australia. The operation was going perfectly until i got to the stage of trying to lever the headlight over that 8mm bumper lip. I used duct tape to protect (as others have mentioned), but i could NOT for the life of me get the headlight out over that lip, without feeling as though i would either rip the bumper off or cause it to crack. I tried just as you stated, either pushing down on the lip, and or just pulling it upwards and out, but to no avail. It looked so much easier for you. I seemed to have felt i tried as long and hard as possible, i even started to sweat...then i just decided to abort mission and put everything back with no harm done. Looks like i'll have to take it to the dealer and pay for the official job.
Thanks for the video. I was able to apply duct tape to the bumper cover BEFORE removing the headlight. It took a little patience to work it into place, but was totally worth it!
Hi! Do you guys have any video on how to replace the headlight washer covers? Is it enough removing the headlights or do I need to remove the front bumper? Thanks!
hello i have a discovery sport, i tried to take the headlight out, but i didn't go out, and now it doesn't totally go back in the car, the headlight is a little bit too high and there is a gap between the pare-choc and headlight. What should i do
Is the headlight wiring connector the same on both sides? aka. can I plug the left one on the right, in order to test it? If so... is there enough room to do so without taking bumper off etc?
hi i have just changed my pure headlights to dynamic followed your video all went ok lights worked then went out to try them two hours later and main beam /high beam wont work but when i first start up they flash on then off only the day time running leds work any suggestions please
Thanks for your great videos. I was wondering if you could help me with a query? When you select main beam on the evoque should the lens 'flap' move on both headlights? Only my driver's side seems to clunk/move.
Thanks for your excellent video. I have a 2011 Evoque with halogen lamps. The drivers side headlight motor has a fault and seems to be running all the time. Only really notice it when you switch the engine off and the motor continues to run for 20 seconds. In your video you are removing the passenger side light. Can you get the drivers side out in a similar way? Is it possible to replace the headlight motor? My local Range Rover garage says not and has recommended a new light unit. Many thanks.
Hi - yes the process is the same for the other light unit. Does the motor overrun coincide with the "follow me home" duration where the lights stays on ?
Thanks for a quick response. The motor overrun is happening with the engine running and without having the headlights switched on. Obviously it is very noticeable when you switch the engine off. I've also managed to find a headlight motor for an Evoque on eBay listed by 'gebrauchtteile24' so it would suggest it is possible to replace it. Have you ever tried it?
Sorry, I used the wrong word. I mean did the beam projection 'aim' alter from factory after removal-reinstallation? Do you still get those perfectly aligned beams or do you need minor adjustments? Thanks.
I just bought a 2017 RRV, the front left headlight clear lense has a minor repair on it from an prior accident, thought about replacing it, a new headlight assembly is around 1,500, WOW...
Do you have anything on the anti trap window mechanism? Mine moves up and down an inch at a time on the driver and N/a rear. Very frustrating. The move to the top and keep presses etc method does not work 😖. Thanks in advance. Robert
@@L663 yes, doesn’t work. Mine moves up and down a few inches at a time, the full auto feature doesn’t work, stopped working properly a few weeks ago. If I follow the reset it doesn’t work, even when it is at full closed, or full open and I hold the button it simply clicks within a second, not a few seconds. Is it worth removing the battery for a while? Thanks in advance. Rob
Hi - i think this is just "plug and play" they have the same connector and the ballast to drive the Xenons is all contained in the headlight unit. Problem is i purchased the dynamic so cant do the upgrade video for you ( as i already have the xenons ) - i could do a video on how to fit halogens which i guess will prove the point they are interchangable.
powerfulukltd hi thanks for your reply, yes please it would be great if you could do that so we can get idea if the lights are interchangeable. And also i want to know after fixing the chrome parts such as window covers, head light cover, etc... will removing that damage the paint of the vehicle as it's pasted with the glue. And easy way to remove it if anyone wants to remove it for any purpose.
Why were you doing this to your new car ? The only reason I did this video was to help one of the UK army guys in Germany who needed to change headlights. I cant see why anyone else would want to do this to a new car especially with the cars being so new to the market.
I was a total failure, tried changing my halogen headlights for the LED Xenon headlights and couldn't even get the grill off, you make it look easier than it actually is, I cant get the 3 clips holding the grill off.
I did not have to fully remove the grill. Once the four screws are removed, the top of the grill can be pivoted forward enough to allow forward displacement of the headlight assembly. Then, enough clearance is obtained at the rear to R&R the bulb (w/o completely removing the headlight assembly.)
powerfulukltd not sure about Europe but in the United States the headlight replacement is covered under the 4 year 40,000 mile warranty. I'm very glad I called the dealer before attempting to do it myself.
Completely unnecessary to remove either the grill nor the headlight. No need for tools, either. Just open the lid in the back of each headlight (turning counter-clockwise), then remove the lamp. Insert new lamp, (turning clockwise), and finally the waterproof lid.

Thanks for posting this. Used your advice today and everything is now good.
Just used this video today to replace new headlights on my evoque. Super useful thanks 👍
Great job !
Hi - this was the Xenon version on my Dynamic SD4 - should be the same on the Halogen
just to say thanks as followed your videos and saved myself £300/400

Do you also have a video on removing the headlamp assembly for a 2014 MY Range Rover Sport? thanks much!
So would it also be possible to access the fog light from here also ?
Thank you very much for this. Worked perfectly. 2015 Evoque.
My osf light goes out when driving. If you turn them off on the stalk then turn them back on the osf light is back on again? Any ideas plz
Hi Can I upgrade 2016 xenon headlights on 2014 Pure Tech SD4 model?

Yes wiring is same side to side... we recomend this very thing when problem solving .

You may need to change the CCF files - i did this last week on the Freelander 2

@@L663 thanks for the advice
Hi any updates on the installing of xenons or vice versa..
Thanks for your great videos. I was wondering if you could help me with a query? When you select main beam on the evoque should the lens 'flap' move on both headlights? Only my driver's side seems to clunk/move.
~Sorry for delay - on holiday for a few days. Yes for sure both "flaps" should move - the LH and RH headlamps.
Thanks, looks like one is faulty then :(

Have you done the press and hold up on the switch to reset the mechanism

Can you upload a video of upgrading the non signature halogens lights to signature xenons in pure models.

Hi - yes this motor looks changeable to me - they just twist off and then the ball joint pops out

Hi. Did your beam pattern change at all after reinstallation?
is the same way for Freelander??
Sofri muito ontem estava tentando tira para-choque do carro

Hi. To change a bulb can you not just do it without all the hassle? Thanks.
Good keep it up see evoque geting fixed thanks
Very clever man
Terima kasih, konten sangat bermanfaat, I really like your videos😍
Спасибо за подсказку, вы облегчили мне работу!! 😊
It's covered under warranty, Fyi
what is covered ? i wanted to change my headlights as i was going to France and this is LHD - UK i RHD ?
powerfulukltd not sure about Europe but in the United States the headlight replacement is covered under the 4 year 40,000 mile warranty. I'm very glad I called the dealer before attempting to do it myself.
Giovanni Gomez in the U.K. It's not covered so we have to do this ourselves
Highly recommend 5" of duct tape running along the bumper edge at the headlight curve area. Otherwise it will mangle the plastic and you will notice.
Why are you paying money to advertise this video 😂
I did this earlier today.... fucked my new evoque.... takin it in to the dealer first thing lol

Hi - i was doing this to swap the headlights LHD / RHD.. not to change a bulb
You are of course right, I was looking through videos on bulb change only, and got a little trigger-happy :-)
Is the same way for Range Rover Sport L494 2013 - 2016 ?
