- After such high demand from the first Piaggio P180 flight vlog, I am excited to present part TWO of the P180 series! In this episode, we dive a little deeper into this amazing plane, discussing some of the systems, performance, and an entire tour of the cockpit in flight, all while conducting a max range mission from the Midwest to California. You say people don't like the Piaggio sound, but I think that it is one of the coolest plane sounds out there.
It's just louder than usual turboprop configurations for people on the ground.

Same here. I always look up when I hear that sound arriving at PIE and TPA. Some of the sweetest music you can ever hear. Almost beats classic R&R.

The P180 is truly a remarkable airplane, and it is wonderful to see that a top-notch professional pilot like Owen is able to present its characteristics in such well produced videos, accessible to hundred of thousands of viewers.

That aircraft is just a blast. Never understood why there are so few flying around. Thank`s Owen for bringing us( again) another video with this excepcional aircraft. Happy landings from Portugal.
I think its because parts are hard to come by and very expensive.
A King King 350ER costs a little more, but has a much longer range, and holds 2 more people. Also Piaggio Aerospace declared itself insolvent, and has been for sale since 2018.

I really like the level of confidence when you are flying. No nervous citations of the check-lists. I am sure you do them in your head but you look in control and flying the plane.

What a lovely bird! I have a radio controlled model Piaggio Avanti hanging on the wall in my home that needs the electrics fitting then she will be ready to fly, once I get time. No wheels, so either a hand or dolly launch!

It's very interesting because I live 8 minutes away from SJC ad I always hear this plane because it usually takes off north and the turns east and flies over my house. The sound it makes is so distinctive I know it is a Piaggio every time even before looking up. Cool videos Owe.

I watched another P180 pilot who said that due to the forward wing losing lift first, that this aircraft would float quite a bit prior to touchdown, if you don't push the yoke forward. However, it doesn't appear that you push when you land. Now I'm curious what the other pilot meant?
The only time I've ever pushed forward, is during wheel landings in the taildragger, when I got my tailwheel endorsement several years ago. That was in a Super Decathlon (which is also the only plane I've flown with a stick). Fun little airplane!

I live and work in close proximity to SJC and over the years I can always when it the Piaggio going over head with its distinctive prop noise... Always would go out side to take a good look as it's long been one of my favs. I wonder how many times it has been you at the controls!
