I agree with you, it's propaganda. However, it's an attempt at deterrence, to try and quell rising hostilities, before things escalate.
Maybe the audience does not understand this; but as a pilot I can tell you that a flight where an engine needs to be shut down and one of your gear does not extend is considered pretty disastrous. This report makes it seem normal, but I am shocked that they had two emergency situations in one flight.
Really? Stop. I'm in the culinary career field, and even I know something like a boeing 747 can fly with 2 of 4 engines off. The landing gear is far more important because of its weight. Aircraft can land with a missing gear, but that's a bit heavier even without its typical payload. And the time when the engine cut off is probably many hours longer than you've flown in a single run. Lot more going on that you know
@@JosephWallace-xo8sg Yeah a plane can fly without one of its engines but its still an emergency, thats literally how its categorized. You are supposed to land as soon as possible after losing an engine, considering the airplane is only rated to fly with all engines operational and whatever caused the initial failure can lead to additional failures.
In reality these planes are nothing but vanity to the eyes for many of these countries' leaders since they truly do not care about their citizens lives. Such a classic movie. I don't think it could have been done any better. Slim Pickens, George C Scott, Peter Sellers in 3 roles, and the debut of James Earl Jones. Yup, timeless classic.
Slim was a last minute decision to play Major Kong. Sellers was supposed to play him but with already playing The President, Mandrake and Strangelove he felt it was too much. Slim stepped in and owned the part. Pickens best role along with his work in Blazing Saddles. “Alright boys it looks like it’s nuclear combat toe to toe with the Russkies!”
And to think, this plane was fairly new state-of-the-art technology when that film came out. I don't know what surprises me more, that the plane is that old or Dr. Strangelove.

I toured the flight deck and bomb bay area of a 52 and even sat in one of the engine intakes with my little brother during an Armed Services Day event in the 1970s. Makes me feel a little proud that they're still flying strong.
When I was a kid, before video games and the internet, I built the model airplane of the B-52. That was a lot of fun. One of my favorite model airplane projects.
So much respect and thanks to the U.S. military and navy and everyone who’s protecting America. I know we aren’t the most respectable country but I think one thing that deserves 100% respect and thanks is to the ones who are on the front lines truly to protect us 🙏🫡
Not difficult but pointless. A B52 will be easily shot down in a combat zone like what happened in Vietnam. They can only operate in areas with no air defense. That’s why modern bombers are stealth.
Military industrial complexes like to waste taxpayer money on planes like the F-22 and donate to the GOP to fight against tuition forgiveness and universal healthcare.
The US did try with the B-1 Lancer but that was quickly retired due to heavy maintenance. Making a new B-52 would be extremely expensive and difficult since the USAF prefers quick low altitude bombing and high altitude precision bombing. The reason why the B-52 is still in service is because it’s a good platform for carpet bombing and also the only bomber to have an on-board jammer in its tail where the tail gunner used to be while being easy to maintain with modern equipment.

Believe it or not, that B-52 used less fuel on that whole run than it would have if it had been fully combat loaded. It would have had to refuel 2-3 more times if it had been loaded for war.

The B-52 missions mission isnt to fly over a territory and drop bombs (well it is). They have cruise missiles that they can launch from miles away from any anti-plane missiles. @ibrahimmoncada2710 Mix in a few B-2's, some B-1b's, a dash of F-117's and maybe even the brand-new B-21 (if they're a couple operational that they're not telling us about) and yeah, that would be a fleet of bombers that could be a core of linebackers.
B52 is a sitting duck for missiles. Nothing special about this plane.
@ibrahimmoncada2710 That's not the purpose of this propaganda piece. This is a flex on Russia, China and Iran. It says this: we can reach you. Remember the B-52 is the oldest asset in the USAF inventory, and it has a capability that none of those countries has. The bigger flex is the stuff they don't talk about. I agree with you, it's propaganda. However, it's an attempt at deterrence, to try and quell rising hostilities, before things escalate.
@@Accuface2000hence why in a true mission, it would not be alone
Maybe the audience does not understand this; but as a pilot I can tell you that a flight where an engine needs to be shut down and one of your gear does not extend is considered pretty disastrous. This report makes it seem normal, but I am shocked that they had two emergency situations in one flight.
One of the main landing gear malfunctions would make me more nervous than the single engine shutdown. They still got seven running.
Really?
Former Barksdale crew chief saw my old jet 0048, glad she is still going strong, tons of maintenance hours on that bird
The 52 is one majestic bird. No wonder they've served for so long.
In reality these planes are nothing but vanity to the eyes for many of these countries' leaders since they truly do not care about their citizens lives. Xi Jinping boasted that if 500 million of his soldiers died he could send another 300 million as reinforcements. Hence, Russia is looking forward to launching their RS-28/RS-24 YARS/R29RMU2 nuclear ICBMs/SLBMS once NATO dumps B61-12s on Belarus as well as Ukraine with there F16s & F35s. I can say with confidence that WWIII will last for four days. People should be anxious over the fact that Russia isn't even phased over a nuclear war on the grounds that they have been refurbishing old soviet nuclear bunkers these past few years for this unquestionable occasion while America's leadership abates. Look to Israel & you will understand that the GREAT RESET is underway. They are building the third temple for goodness sake. Jesus will come to rapture the Church before the seven-year tribulation. Those who believe in a false gospel will be left behind. Trust only in the blood of Jesus & his finished work on the cross, not your by your own works.

Can't see this plane without thinking about Slim Pickens riding the bomb swinging his cowboy hat.
Such a classic movie. I don't think it could have been done any better. Slim Pickens, George C Scott, Peter Sellers in 3 roles, and the debut of James Earl Jones.
Yup, timeless classic.

I toured the flight deck and bomb bay area of a 52 and even sat in one of the engine intakes with my little brother during an Armed Services Day event in the 1970s. Makes me feel a little proud that they're still flying strong.

Still The BEST.. Thank You For All Your Service.
Now I wonder... Is it that difficult to make a brand new B-52 nowadays?
Not difficult but pointless. A B52 will be easily shot down in a combat zone like what happened in Vietnam. They can only operate in areas with no air defense. That’s why modern bombers are stealth.
I have been saying that for years! Totally new airframes made from modern materials and current avionics and sensors.
Military industrial complexes like to waste taxpayer money on planes like the F-22 and donate to the GOP to fight against tuition forgiveness and universal healthcare.
All the factories are gone, they would have to covert an airline factory
The US did try with the B-1 Lancer but that was quickly retired due to heavy maintenance. Making a new B-52 would be extremely expensive and difficult since the USAF prefers quick low altitude bombing and high altitude precision bombing.
The reason why the B-52 is still in service is because it’s a good platform for carpet bombing and also the only bomber to have an on-board jammer in its tail where the tail gunner used to be while being easy to maintain with modern equipment.
