I got my butt shot at in Vietnam and in Panama, Couple a times they hit. I won't say where. When I was in the hospital, all I could think about was good food from home. Kent, one of my favourite sandwiches ever. I recommend adding a slice of smoked gouda cheese.
Sugar on 'maters is an old fashion way of doing them. great GPaw did that all the time . Other non modern seasonings were a splash of vinegar on spinach and other cooked greens and on corned beef hash, salt on the watermelon.
I love salt on watermelon, and salted peanuts in a bottle of Coke!!
Vinegar in pinto beans as your eating them!

Try grilling bacon, also sausage. On the sausage as soon as the patties come off, smear with real butter. Depending on your grill temperature, you may need foil or indirect heat after getting your grill marks.

Kent gave this BL-A-T sandwich a knockout punch. Watched the video yesterday, just had to make it today & tomorrow will be the Tuna melt. The flavors of this BL-A-T are just incredible, brown sugar on tomatoes, who would have thought. Only alteration I made was adding a bit of minced garlic & lime to the sauce. Oh Lordy Kent, you put me in the Wayback Memory mode there! When I was in the Navy stationed in Hawaii, I often after a hard night out on the town would stop in at a little food truck we all called the happy hippy and pick up a BLAT on sourdough...although being hippies, the did not do lettuce, but rather they did sprouts! It was also my introduction to avocados..and I've loved em ever since...and when I make BLT's I always at that Avocado as well..and sometimes even the sprouts! Thanks for bringing up such a wonderful memory of my youth!!

Kent I tried your recipe today for a B, L, A,&T sandwich today and it was absolutely incredible. I have tried several of your recipes. This was the best sandwich so far.

@@steveh4962 onions are a main staple in my household just about everything I cook has onion in it . I use all kinds of onions, I can eat raw Vidalia onions all by themselves . If my grandkids come to see me and the bring me a burger they know to tell them xxx onions on my burger

Hi! I made this BLT earlier this evening. I used home made sourdough bread and heirloom tomatoes from my garden. I made sure to add lots of freshly ground black pepper to the bacon! My husband loved it.

We put a tomato plant in the garden specifically for our granddaughter. We’ve been teaching her to care for it and water it. And when the tomatoes ripen we’ve let her pick them and eat them. She shares with Mimi. Together they eat those tomatoes and share a bonding moment while enjoying the fruits of their labor.
No one can top A Rollins Sandwich... And when Kent includes Bacon to anything....The drooling begins. A+ Kent & Shannon

My BLTs only have the B and the mayo. My taste buds are allergic to vegetables.
Then you have no problem with tomatos and avacado. Theyre fruit.
Oh yes, I agree. My Dad used to grow the freshest, sun-ripened tomatoes. Now that Daddy is gone, I can't eat the early picked, unripened, store bought tomatoes. No comparison. B and mayo are good enough.
