As someone who was 2nd string JV, nothing pissed me off more than watching the Varsity starters playing around on the sideline when they should be going in the game, I would have killed for a shot at starting Varsity, but now I'm a senior and I finally am getting my chance to start
there was this kid on my team that would always say that he had super bad stomach cramps just to get out of practice, he also was non-stop making up excuses like "my helmet doesn't fit", and it really starts to piss you off when your out there everyday working your ass off
My coach got pissed cuz I went to the sidelines during a scrimmage against another team cuz I got a helmet to helmet hit and almost got a concussion I was like the fuck
You’re preaching to the choir brother! Coaching today’s players can be frustrating to say the least. The one about not having enough players on the field when a possession change happens is one that makes me frustrated too. I like these videos man keep it up!
3:21 has happened to me once I took a single sip of Gatorade and we get a turnover and touchdown. By the time I realized what happened, they finished the 2 point conversion
Me personally Forget to go on the feild when they don’t call it out and we are to busy chugging Down gallons of Water and Taiking with our QB to see what’s going too happen.
I remember I broke my wrist during the summer before the season but didn’t know I broke it. Played the whole season and then got it looked at after it hurting really bad from power clean and it turns out my scaphoid was fractured and I needed surgery
And it wouldn't have been that bad if u just sat out not taking time to let ur injuries recover and take care of ur body is a ludicrous thing for him to say like he said he can run or do agility training but no need for him to suit up to do that get back to 100% so you can practice and play at 100% simple as that
2:51 i’m very late to this video but i have to disagree a player blaming his team or pretending he never makes mistakes is always worse than a player recognizing when he makes mistakes and tries to improve
My friend did #7 the entire season this year. One time, he got injured bring water out to the people actually playing. He went to offseason, played in one game, and was “injured” multiple times during the season.
Meanwhile, I have had to get surgery for a bone that has shifted out of place since the beginning of the season, and it hurts like a bitch, but I still suit up every day, and practice.
If players forget it’s on the coaching staff not being diligent. They’re kids and they’re gonna get distracted. You act like kids should be held to the same standard as pros.
Hey man love your vids started watching them when my season just ended but with your vids I’m confident I would be playing better anyways I started freshman football and this season we reviewed tape more than ever and was wondering if you could make a vid about what to look for in film sessions and some tips on how you reviewed game film as a lineman
I absolutely agree that players shouldn’t be asking to switch positions after being at that position for a good amount of time. It’s a pain in the ass, especially after getting the rest of the team set. BUT, I will say that I’ve seen coaches from time to time put players at some of the most ridiculous spots for that players particular skill set. I’ve seen some coaches do some horrible assessments. It’s good to be patient, talk with the player and parents, and do some real in depth scouting before throwing them somewhere strictly based on size. It can leave the player miserable and it can seriously hurt the team. I watched a guy who was extremely tall be thrown at TE in a spread offense, meanwhile this kid had trained with his father( a former DE ) since he was 5. The player had stone hands and couldn’t block to save his life. After a battle with the coach (who had a real problem admitting he might be wrong) The kid went back to DE and broke the league record in sacks, FF, and plays for negative yards. The team went from 1-2 to 7-3. Moral of the story, Never stop listening, never stop learning and always have an open mind. The answer to every question is “What’s best for the entire team” Never what is best for an Ego.
When players that don’t start sitting down and messing around. As a starting O/D lineman this makes me so mad and angry. But luckily this makes me play somewhat better.
I'm a bigger stronger D-end and I know for a fact that speed is a big part of pass rushing so your gonna want to be fast but you also need to be strong to get off blocks (obviously) so if your already fast enough try to focus on strength a little bit more
Play until the whistle stops. I play running back for my school, and our O-Line drive very hard until the whistle stops, which creates holes for me and other backs, and it really helps us out. Running backs love it when their O-Line block well for them, and it makes them comfortable, and I speak from experience. Make sure you drive that defensive lineman when u play center with all your effort and stay low. As for DE, play smart. Use your hands and stay low, and make contain your gap. I've seen a lot of defensive lineman try to run down running backs and chase with a bad angle, and too far in front of the back. That opens up a cutback lane, which a good back will see and get a good 6 or more yards off of. If the run isnt coming your way, depending if your defense plays gap-style defense or not, stay in your gap, and just watch the cutback. Its your teammates on the other side to tackle that back. Good luck, and keep grindin bro, I hope this helped.
@linemanfootball number 7 that's called lazy Ness I lacerated my finger from the top of my nail to the bottom of it still came to practice everyday with no pads and cleats and played the game and the next 3 weeks after that I came to practice in full pads till my finger was healed
Riich Coby Shit man. One time I busted a blood vessel in my finger and it literally swelled to twice it’s size. But regardless of my finger I put on my gloves the next day and went on to work protecting the QB against our rival. Ended up actually being one of my best games.
I agree with you on all your points but one, that one is dumb injuries and you said you still can do conditioning but I broke my wrist and when I even walk it was nagging
Never say My Bad unless you are told to. If you aren’t told to, do what my coaches say. Flush it and move on. You already screwed up, there’s no sense in dwelling on it when it’s already done and over with.
I had broke my hand and I practiced that whole week and played not knowing it was broken I thought it was just really bruised then we went to the doctors that weekend and they said it was broken 😂 but when I got my cast I still ran and conditioned until the week before my removal I played with the cast on so full hitting but we broke my cast two days before it got tooken off😂
do you think a varsity revo speed classic with a unequal technologies gyro helmet liner be more protective than a varsity air xp pro VDT ii without the gyro helmet liner
I play guard and nose guard and Im having trouble finding cleats. I wore nike field general 3 elite td for 2 years but the cleats are all at the end of their lifespan. I don't like those older alpha sharks as it doesnt seem to get the job done. Would you know of any cleats that i could wear or any websites where i can get the nike field general 3 elite td at?
I one got nailed in the leg so bad I couldn’t fell it from my knee down so I got out of being in but not off the feud till I got feeling back but then a kid popped is ankle and went to the trainers.
I have had 2 season ending injuries that I ended up playing the rest of the game through because the coach didnt beleive me u till I went to the doctor
Damn this guy really knows how to piss me off. If you are injured so stones u have to sit out because of your sports trainer at the school, you look like the type of kid that would be the one to forget his helmet smh
I mean, I'm late a lot to practice because I live 2 hours away from the field but I always text my coach and let him know at least 15 minutes before hand so I don't throw things off. Also, I'm the kid who always has extra stuff.
The Neighbor if you’re in middle school and you are eligible for jv - you’re obviously pretty good. Dominate in middle school then play at the higher levels
Not having a mouth guard is not a big deal. I play football and rugby and never wear a mouth guard. Call me stupid but I’ve never been kicked out of a game
As someone who was 2nd string JV, nothing pissed me off more than watching the Varsity starters playing around on the sideline when they should be going in the game, I would have killed for a shot at starting Varsity, but now I'm a senior and I finally am getting my chance to start
There’s this one kid on my team who faked a concussion and lied on the questions the trainer asked him just to get out of practicing
Thats dumb but if you have a bad concussion you shouldn't come to practice
there was this kid on my team that would always say that he had super bad stomach cramps just to get out of practice, he also was non-stop making up excuses like "my helmet doesn't fit", and it really starts to piss you off when your out there everyday working your ass off
I had a team mate like that to
why would you not practice? Football is fun lol

I play quarterback and I played through a broken finger on my throwing hand and I still threw 3 touchdown and I went 15 for 19

My bad is like saying sorry
What tips do you have for me being a little bit of a smaller but faster defensive end
I’m the same bud, make proper use of your hands - keep them off you and you’ll get sacks for days.
the sky is falling use your hands a lot and obviously speed
I'm a bigger stronger D-end and I know for a fact that speed is a big part of pass rushing so your gonna want to be fast but you also need to be strong to get off blocks (obviously) so if your already fast enough try to focus on strength a little bit more
Lift more and learn how to use your hands.
use your hands and ask your coach if you can come out of a 2-point
Not getting involved in a practice they can and avoiding practicing
I missed a kick return my freshman year on my first varsity game ig I was just nervous 😂
Practiced whilst rehabbing a broken knuckle in my dominant hand.
So if I get sick on game day is it bad if I can't show up to the game?
What about like a wrist fracture cuz I had to sit out like a week
any tips for me I'm a center and a D-end?

kaeto Nwodika running back

im a Jr. rn and I still use the same mouth guard that my team gave me as a freshmen.
I’m new and I still don’t know if I’m starting kicking team or not
6th Grade, 105 Pounds, 5,4. I have an arm, and I want to play Quarter back or Cornerback. Suggestions?
Quarterback, you have a leg up on all other quarterbacks because your in 6th grade. Just develop skill and be a qb.
I hope that you grew some

Tanner Lawless bro get the savage elites. they are the greatest cleats i have ever worn... great fit and have very good ankle support
Nathaniel Mink thanks ill look into them
One of my teammates forgot his jersey yesterday at a game 😅
The $1 mouthpieces are the best, cant breathe with those damn molded ones i would get a sisu but there's no tether

The best game I played was without my cleats 😂
if you have an organised huddle, then nobody will forget to get in the game

i have a $5 mouth guard and it’s in perfect condition even after a full season, i hate seeing people who have chewed up mouth guards for no reason
