NFL YoungBoy I play rugby and my coach stresses neck strengthening a lot. The easiest way to build neck strength is to lay on the edge of your bed and hang your neck off. Then you lift your head up and down a bunch of times. It doesn’t sound like it would do much but after a bunch of reps it’s almost impossible and your head feels like it weighs 100 pounds 😂
Honestly if you have a concussion you probably don't know you have a concussion for awhile. I say this because it took a quarter to realize I had one because I didn't know a quarter had passed.
Spinning Wenis my friend got one during Oklahomas. He did not realize that he had a concussion until he went to the doctors office for headaches a few days later...
The Problem for my football team is that for linemen we always are the ones takeing most of the hitting. I Play DT but almost all the o line blocking they start with their heads.
I’ve had a severe concussion and am in a mild one right now, I’ve never had a concussion playing tackle football, or lacrosse, I think what parents need to learn is that with the right protective gear you’re not likely to get hurt, my concussion I’m in now that is keeping me out of my tackle for 2 weeks is from flag football so my advice is if you are a parent keeping your kid out of tackle football, lacrosse or something like hockey is that it’s not the game that is hurting players it’s the players hurting themselves by not using the right gear, if you’re playing football use a speed flex or a vicis if you’re team provides them, I would personally not feel as safe in any other helmets, lacrosse don’t buy the cheapest helmet, if the plastic on top crackes when u drop it to hard it’ll crack when you get hit hard, so make sure u buy a cascade crx, or the S if you’re extra safe, I don’t know about hockey I don’t play that shit.
When I played I got my first diagnosed concussion my freshman year when I made my a tackle on a running back in the first game of the season. I missed the next 6 games, but after that I had 2 more. I loved the game so much that I kept coming back for more. But looking back now that I'm graduated I wouldn't have kept playing.
Hey there I'm in high school been playing lineman my whole life love it. I was just wondering if you have any suggestions on what I should do to work out. I'm looking more for building muscle. I've searched around the inter webs about this but there isn't much for Lineman.
bro I used an air xp for most of my career and a revo speed too and I got 6 conks, I committed to York University in Canada and their doctors wouldn't clear me to play
I though I had one today... I was going to push the pile and got head butted full speed by a linebacker... I didn’t know what was going on for like 5 seconds. I still played the whole game though I don’t think I have one.
I had a concussion for and was out of school for 3 weeks and it did suck but if u love a sport u play it and get over it if u don't love football don't play we live and we learn a real concussion is when you cannot even see like me so if your scared don't play
i use that "helmet to the ball technique alllll the time. Really changed the way i play. Also, i was producing big hits so honestly it's a great way to tackle. The only time i never use this, is when the ballcarrier is holding the ball with two arms. In this case i go really low and trip the guy
Sports Boy FDC. Meiner Meinung nach ist der Riddell Speed Flex oder Revo Speed immernoch #1 bzw #2... Aber die neuen Schutt Helme sind auch innovativ und bequem- Ist halt immernoch 50% aussehen was entscheidet:D
I actually just got a concussion and haven't even gone back to athletics and track just started. I haven't played video games for 3 weeks. It freaking sucks.
1) you don’t gotta be out cold. If you have symptoms for a while it could be a minor one which should be healed 2) in high school no one gives af about concussions prob 25% of the team has them and keeps playing unless the trainers somehow find out
I just got a concussion last week I was on kickoff and I was gunner and I was 13 yards away from the sideline and a dude who was 245 (110 lbs more than me) rand towards me and I was booking my shit. Running a 4.8 flat down this bitch in a freshman ball game. This man caught me right when I exposed my temple to him full force right at me and I flew back 8 yards. Since I was right along the sideline coach took me out for the next few plays and I couldn’t walk. I still wanted to go back in and I couldn’t even remember anything from the first half lol
I think concussion happen for the little kids when they are not paying attention and someone runs them over so it goes back to your point of always keep looking around
Not to be that guy but im the one that gives the concussions i start head butting everyone and i feel really nothing so i dont stop head butting them as long as i make a play im happy and if headbutting the linemen to get to the QB i will do all i can to get there so dont hate i just have a thick skull (im a defensive nose btw)
Jacen Foster Football Player #85 it may not have short term effects but chances are if you continue you will have problem long term like you may have head trauma once your on varsity , and even longer term u could get a higher risk of stroke, you could get a higher chamce of alzeheimer disease, or maybe but probably not get CTE
I think that some people dont know the difference between being hurt and injured. Theres a difference between ankle pain and a sprained ankle, just like getting hit and getting your bell rung and a concussion
There is actual scientific data on concussions from medical professionals, you are providing incorrect data and advice. If you experience symptoms of a concussion alert a trainer, there are tests to determine if you actually have a concussion. Concussions can be serious and don't only happen from one big hit, most concussions occur from multiple moderate collisions, especially for lineman who experience consistent impact to the head and neck area. I usually like your videos but this one really disappointed me, you could have gone into scientific data and given actual advice to help kids know that being concerned about a concussion is not a sign of weakness or will affect their play and that it is okay. Instead you tried to make it seem like its a rare occurrence and people are overreacting. As someone who has had multiple concussions(diagnosed by team doctors) and still have effects from them to this day, it frustrates me to see people giving out inaccurate advice. Please, redo this video with actual data and medical facts, not your personal opinion. Concussions are an issue in this game and a large part of that is all the misinformation that people are giving.
56Hancuff i have some background knowledge of specifically how concussions negatively impact the brain and that has been forcing me away from playing football but I have always been wanting to play as a receiver at the Highschool level. Do you think there is too much risk for getting brain damage
efird5280 they are inevitable they will happen so get over it if you love the game enough you shouldn't care I think you'll be fine with a good shot or two to the head. It's just something that comes with the game of football take it or leave it
Also another tip from a person who has had several: stay hydrated and keep helmet pumped up and work out your neck muscles
Daylan Bailey how do you work out neck in a none gay way😂

They changed tackling for me in Texas. They said nearest shoulder pad to nearest hip

You’ve gotten multiple concussions. Lineman get a few every game just small ones. Never gotten a bad one. Most stop within a few days.
I just got a concussion last week I was on kickoff and I was gunner and I was 13 yards away from the sideline and a dude who was 245 (110 lbs more than me) rand towards me and I was booking my shit. My first concussion was when I was 10
Never had a concussion. I am eleven
Hey so what is your advice if you want to play up from a freshman up to varsity? And did you play up?
I think concussion happen for the little kids when they are not paying attention and someone runs them over so it goes back to your point of always keep looking around
Football 101 its more of players running with the their head in front or blocking with the head in front
The worst thing about the C word is the day after you get it. That day was the worst day of my life.
A concussion kinda ended my high school football career in got one during week 4 and it began losing old memories
Gabriel Chabolla damn that sucks
I'm a Stud its sucks because im only a junior
This is my first year im in 7th grade. And im in midheys and its hard
Thought you didnt play grade ten
I got head and I got a concussion and I can still get up and I play varsity football
I got one concussion and still get simptoms I was out for 5 weeks
Alex Hernandez 5 weeks that's unnecessary
If i were to go up to my high school coach and said I think I have a concision he would laugh his ass off lol.
First! I like your vids :)

Jacen Foster Football Player #85 what grade are you in
Jacen Foster Football Player #85 if your on varsity and still doing that without getting hurt i would be shocked
spud man im a freshman 1st string Nose tackle on JV
Jacen Foster Football Player #85 it may not have short term effects but chances are if you continue you will have problem long term like you may have head trauma once your on varsity , and even longer term u could get a higher risk of stroke, you could get a higher chamce of alzeheimer disease, or maybe but probably not get CTE
Jacen Foster Football Player #85 im just telling you what ik because ima starting jv center and in freshman football last year i was a nose guard.

that is true but, wasnt disapointed about it.
+56Hancuff I'm not remaking a video about my opinion
+56Hancuff this is my experience from coaching, playing so I'm sorry you disagree but this is how I feel
56Hancuff i have some background knowledge of specifically how concussions negatively impact the brain and that has been forcing me away from playing football but I have always been wanting to play as a receiver at the Highschool level. Do you think there is too much risk for getting brain damage
Don't say the c word 😫
If you are worried about concussions do not play football it happens get over it. It happens
Dumbest comment I've read
efird5280 they are inevitable they will happen so get over it if you love the game enough you shouldn't care I think you'll be fine with a good shot or two to the head. It's just something that comes with the game of football take it or leave it
efird5280 man does prove a point
Garrett Fox my team had more collar bone injuries than concussions
Chuck Norris mine had mostly shoulder
You are so wrong. Biased as hell.
