one time jerell lamont and shaun were driving through my town in and stopped at the skatepark and posted on their insta story i replied to drink a beer and shaun actually replied i met up with them and chilled with them they are all super chill dudes ill always remember that day hope you been good jerell if you see this, still got your music on my playlist
Man, Jerell is so fuckin wholesome. At the end, he said "Im blessed that people care about me." Had a big ass smile on his face when he said it. Thats some real shit right there. Maybe he needed the feeling. Some people just need to have that feeling.
Love this dude Jerhell, back when I finished high school i made him a visualizer for one of his songs, spent 3 months on it, and he really used it. That gave me so much confidence. Shoutout to him fr, good fckn guy
This was such a good one! I love Jerell, always been such a stand up dude ever since I met him. On a side note, I remember him telling me a story about his mom getting furious at him because he asked if there was cereal in the house 😂need to get Jerell back on to hear more!!
I was hyped To see Nyjah inside the Berlin airport and to be able to talk to the guy. After Nyjah got done checking in, I took the opportunity to talk to him, but he immediately replied not right now! I only replied “Do a kick flip” and went on my way. To my surprise I saw Nyjah again, waiting on the same gate number to board on the plane that was flying to Amsterdam>LAX. So Prior to boarding I looked backwards and saw Nyjah, he immediately was trying to hide in the background etc. After my first encounter we had I didn’t bother to reach out to him again. I got on the plane and landed in Amsterdam and again I ran into Nyjah and he just covered his head with his hoodie. After getting to see the way he acted I had to unfollow and unsubscribe from Nyjah.
what a great interview, I couldn't stop listening, and I can't wait for part II. After all that he has been through and to still have a strong sense of right and wrong is impressive.
I got big respect for these guys for real, I watch stuff like this then I look at my original release candi deck on my wall and it makes me glad I got it, I'm in the UK and can relate heavily with these guys
Damn man I’ve always had a lot of love and respect for you guys but after seeing this and how similar we grew up it really makes this more genuine. Keep doing what y’all are doing hoping to one day and being who you are y’all really have inspired a whole generation and don’t know it 💯☮️🖤
Wow your interview with your friend ..his story of his past youth life reminded me of mine.. me on the other end ran from the abuse.. I'm glad he's doing much better today..from having to deal with that rough upbringing... Your videos are very motivating.. Thanks. I love u and always have loved u just wanted u to have a better life then what I had at that time.. ❣️ I pray for u to know who I really am and not just what u were told.. until then take care .. ❤I love the person u turned out to be from what I see. ✌️🥰
This is the best podcast yet bro. I can’t wait for the part two. Ngl this podcast really opening my eyes bro. Cause if imma be real I was hating on a lot of skateboarding cause I felt I ain’t fit in despite all the love I had for it. I felt like being good and getting in parts was like an unobtainable godlike status in my eyes. Idk dawg I was young and insecure forsure. But I really appreciate these podcasts humanizing skateboarding to me.
I'm dealing with issues with my mom and dad right now and this found me. Nothing like those, but cool to see other people doing well after going through similar
Jerell is relatable. My mom wasn't that mean, but being the only black kid in my neighborhood that skated and had mostly white friends, i still wasnt tryna let the homies come over unless they really had to😅. Love my mom tho.
Man I only knew jerell from some old skits Ive seen and some old candy videos, this man is very intelligent and hilarious. Just a great character and energy, definitely need another pod with him!!
This was so lit. Bro i got such a similar back story! Like so many details of ny life and my up bringing was dam near exactly the same! My mom also made me pretend to be disabled to get ssi checks! And when u said that park i paused the vid and 😢
Ahhh man I remember both of y’all since 2015 ah man the memories seeing everyone coming up and honestly it’s so sick to see y’all doing what y’all been saying y’all were gonna do. 💜
Jarrell cool asf at one time when he was naming his favorite skaters I had that "did we just become best friends" moment lol my dude we would have been legit bf white boy from the hood in new orleans, black dude from Inglewood, both found escapes thru skating lol glad stuff worked out for you man, I hurt my ankle really bad before making my way to Cali chasing that dream and the only real accomplishment I have now is being a good dad heh.
It’s crazy to think that the kids that risked their lives, were outcasted by their communities, were deemed as “white boys” because they chose to skate, didn’t get the shine they deserved in the skate industry, while these kids that grow up with skate parks in their backyards and rich parents to fall on if they failed, made it.
This dude is sick I remember his line in the finesse video heel flip crooks all sick he late front shuvd this big ass wooden four stair homie is down Killing it with the podcasts ❤
I love it when good people blow stereotypes out of the water, most people that had to endure an upbringing like Jarrell did would use it as an excuse and blame it for their life being shit but thats not the case here.I'd never heard of this guy before and he comes across as an Intelligent, funny dude who's hella witty and its cool to see.love muthafuckas who smash preconceptions.
❤❤ bro jarell speaking on black moms but being real about it. Not to mention the skating and being completely different and going through the judgement and harassment and bullying. From people and your family.. we just didnt want to do what everyone else did and saw or older men in our families do. And i think i got one board from my mom growing up.
Found out about jerell through Luis videos and man he’s a great ass dude. I remember when he finally had bread off his music and threw his fam some cash.
one time jerell lamont and shaun were driving through my town in and stopped at the skatepark and posted on their insta story i replied to drink a beer and shaun actually replied i met up with them and chilled with them they are all super chill dudes ill always remember that day hope you been good jerell if you see this, still got your music on my playlist
