He was a lovely guy. I met him socially in 2000 and he was so grounded and easy to talk to. He never took the fame for granted, he just enjoyed everything he did and enjoyed his life. Very sad that he went too early.

Thanks for that Rick, I wanted to date this and you said Jagger was nearly 70, so this is 11 or 12 years ago, say 2012, so Ricks 64. Bit of a "lump in the throat" moment when he jokingly said he didnt want to die. Sad loss. Such a nice bloke.
He really was an excellent interviewee at this time. Intelligent honest engaging and totally authentic. Ironic that it was Rossi that went onto do speaking tours considering he possesses none of those attributes.
Rick was relaxed, on the road (his natural habitat) & particularly happy this day, no ego just gig ready, I chatted with him about nothing in particular, I’d just got a VW Scirocco & he was quite taken with it
@Nyquest Cheers for that . I think you really captured the genuine Rick Parfitt in essence a likeable enthusiastic humble guy. I saw them 3 times on the 2014 reunion tour and his performances were absolutely monumental.

That's the trouble when you have been in a band for a long time, at an young age. You have to carry on ,as Rick said its in your blood to perform its like a drug. Let's face it Rick and Francis have done that got the tee shirt 👕 😎. It's not because they need the money, if you do t do anything you get bored . Just like retirement you need a hobby.
How can you give up the fame..money and adoration of fans..you crave it more as you age because of the insecurities that go with that. Leaving would be like a lost great relationship of the past you keep hanging onto because it was a fun rewarding time of youth
