The first Eminem song I ever heard was lose yourself but this is the track that made me an Eminem fan. It’s the opening track of MMLP and I listened to SSLP first, it was good but MMLP was a whole different level.
This music will absolutely survive in 2022 and 2023 if you can listen to Cardi B sing songs about her pussy being wet then you absolutely can listen to songs about what time slots are and how they need to be put in their place by Eminem
Started listening to EM when I was 8 my parents had a discussion about it. Glad they let me listen to him in the end. I learned alot in young life by hearing his lyrics

Man I’m 32 from England I was about 11 when he started to become massive here and honestly never since seen an artist so big or loved by so many people like everyone could relate to him in some way or another, even caught my mum listening to him a few times talking about how meaningful he actually is when you really pay attention to him 😩😂

First song was My Name Is from The Slim Shady LP followed by the rest of the album. I was 11 years old and it helped me get through a lot at that time. I've always been a rocker/metal head at heart but slim shady open a new world to me and gave me an appreciation for rap.

I was 10 when this album came out, and we used to hide and listen to it in secret, and I remember there was alot of chaos in the media about Eminem and this album.
i think the first two songs i heard from eminen were "the real slim shady" and "the way i'm", when he performed them live on Mtv and i was so fascinated with his performance.
The first Em song i heard was "Sing for the moment" one of my favs from him!!!
i remember when i was a kid my parents wouldn't let me buy any Em cds but i would take my tape recorder and record his songs whenever they played on the radio. The first songs i became obsessed with were Without Me and Just Lose It and i remember they would play on the radio 10x a day along with a few others. every kid i knew on the block was bumpin his music and all the parents hated him. It's crazy that today the kids are the ones outraged over his music and the adults are the ones just vibing to it lol.
Ironically enough, this song 'kill you' , I was 8 and my older brother introduced me to Em with this song, and I've been hooked ever since
I remember being in middle school listening to this on my fathers walkman when it came out. I miss those days.

oh gosh the memories! I grew up on rock then extreme black and death metal but Eminem was one of the few rappers that meant alot to me and kept my musically vision open for not only other rappers but other genres too. back then I found every single track equally awesome on his albums. that changed along the way though :P
First song I ever heard & saw on MTV was 'My Name Is' when I was 16 (yes I'm old) at a local bar and I was blown away. I was just getting into rap (the lyrics, because English isn't my first language). Had to go pick up the SSLP as soon as I could so I could actually listen to all the crazy stuff he was saying. Even went back to Infinite & all the songs I could find that weren't on the SSLP, & his freestyles. Then Dr. Dre 2001 dropped, after that the MMLP. It was like a golden era :-) Ah, all the memories ;-) Thx Em & co! Oh, if you're looking for and old school track, maybe check out 'Till Hell Freezes Over' if you never heard that one. The first Eminem song I ever heard was Cleaning Out my Closet, I was 5 years old when that song came out. I remember hearing it all the time back then and really liking it. I didn’t really listen to Eminem as a kid because my parents didn’t like his music. I didn’t start really listening to him until my adult life. The song Kill You made me start listening to Eminem, and now he’s my favorite rapper. I’ve heard almost all of his albums, but the MMLP is definitely my favorite.
This is one of my favorite songs when I was 13, I was born in 2000, I just like his energy, keep it real, don't give a heck attitude, that's why I also like rock music, these traits rarely appear in today's music

Edit: The Real Slim Shady is prolly the first song I ever heard from him but I wasn't into hip-hop as a kid. Eminem became a mainstay for me when he dropped MMLP2 and I heard Rap God for the first time, been a massive fan ever since and hooked me to hip-hop! Know most of his catalogue word-for-word now lol.

I remember vividly hearing my first Eminem track on a Dutch Hiphop radio show hosted by two Dutch dj legends. It was an early version of '97 Bonnie & Clyde, that later came out with a different beat on the Slim shady LP. I remember it vividly beause the two hosts had an argument on air if this was cool or not. The song is about Eminem driving and talking to his kid on the way to go and dump the body of the kids mother (Kim). It almost was a year before the actual album dropped, and i remember thinking, this guy is something else.

First I really "heard" was "Real Slim Shady". I had heard "My name is" first, but never really paid attention to it. "Real Slim Shady" completely blew my mind when I actually listened and tried to hear what he was saying and how he was saying it. After that? Well, I have liked Em due to the fact that he was the type of artist who you KNEW would say whatever he wanted to say, without a care in the world how the "industry" would react. And knowing how fast the industry will step in to "silence" someone? Well, hearing someone saying the stuff we were saying behind closed doors was amazing.

F I N A L L Y someone who understands (early) Eminem's humor (or irony in general). Please react to more older (1998-2006) Eminem stuff! "The Kids" or "Criminal" would be a great. "As the World Turns" is also a great example of over-the-top violence, heartfelt depression and irony all put into one.

I feel like everyone heard his big radio hits and new about him but my first deep dive was “The Ringer” am a NF fan and there was this entire thing about a NF diss and after hearing that song I was like damn man is top tier, ended up listening to his entire Kamikaze album, it was great then I decided to listen to his old stuff, fell in love with MMLP had it on repeat for ever then went into Eminem show, SSLP, then encore loved those, listened to relapse one of my favorites, listened to recovery was great, heard MMLP2 again one of me favorite albums, and before I was getting into recovery, MTBMB came out and fell in love with that, don’t see how people say “new” Em is trash but yeah the original question it was probably Real slim shady ☠️

Brain damage was the first song I heard of his. My friend let me borrow her cd, told me to pick one, and just listen. I picked brain damage because at that time in my life, I felt like my brain was damaged. Then I heard the song know it didn't fit my life, but it's wasn't far off from it. I fell in love with his music right then and still love his music.😊
