Agreed. I think it’s underrated because people just don’t have the stomach for it. But almost everyone in this world has a fascination to the psychological view of serial killers.
@@Bonz-vc8zd I wanted to comment the exact same thing xD i also believe that it's underrated because people don't like the subject matter. But the way it is presented is truly masterful and needs to be respected.
@thomasduray9163 This was his first album after he almost died after he OD'd he literally had to relearn basic bodily functions including how to write and speak, considering all of that, this album is a masterpiece.
Relapse album definitely isn't underrated at all, I don't know where you got that from, it's one of his best albums even according to his fans, Em himself said it was underwhelming but we know it wasn't.
Eminem said when he was making it when he was coming off drugs that he watched a lot of True Crime shows so that's what gave him an inspiration to do this album of about drugs and half about murder the next song you should do that you'd like would be same song and dance
Dope video breakdown. You're very aware and smart. Besides that, I love the color coding on the lyric video and how it shows How eminem writes and the internal rhyme schemes. Just look at that second verse. Look at how beautiful that is and how hard that is to do. Eminem is alone in his realm.
Thanks for reacting to the color coded lyric video. It's incredible to see the insane talent with the pen. Love your channel. Thanks for continuing to kick ass.
Bro for real, I've heard so much rap. I've loved Eminem's talent all my life. I kind of enjoyed your different approach to this with the knowledge of the storytelling! To me, this is literally the most insanely lyrical genius song anybody anywhere has done. The content is more than dark, but the ability to compose what Eminem has done in 'Stay Wide Awake' is beyond bananas. Godlike ability.
Wow, really loved this reaction. I have a whole new perspective of this song. I didn't realize all the references to the serial killers. Thanks for pointing it all out.
Now that you’ve gone somewhat down the Eminem rabbit hole I’d suggest checking out “Kim” by Eminem. To me, definitely one of the darkest songs ever written and only something someone should react to after they’ve heard a good number of his songs and have somewhat of an understanding of who he is.
The color code showing where he rhymes says a lot about how good he is. He's doing all that rhyming while still telling a crazy but coherent story with numerous references to real life events and people
Pause at 7:36 - 7:37, right before the lyrics begin their transition to the chorus. Look at those beautiful vertical columns of rhymes: red, blue, magenta, and over half of the text in between is green. They're almost perfectly vertical. He's rhyming multiple words in every line over a dozen lines straight. This verse is beyond fire ☀
Given Eminem's intelligence, his broad knowledge, known special interest in serial killers, history with childhood abuse, drug abuse, and nearly dying from overdosing, as well as losing his best friend... All before this album was written (he was coming off drugs after nearly dying from an OD), so I wouldn't actually put it past Em to have each of those references to quite a few you pointed out and done so intentionally. That dark side has been there since the Slim Shady LP. He's a wordsmith like no other and is a musical & literary genius that hasn't been seen for a few centuries, with the way he can put things together from so many different angles.
This randomly was on my homepage and I'm smoking a joint so said let's give it a try now im worried this girl is a potential serial killer....her vast knowledge on killers is wild
Good reaction! I've studied this song many times and have seen many reactions, but neither they or myself ever noticed the subtle references to past serial killers before until now. Automatic sub!
Damn.... as an eminem fan i must say, you catched bars i actualy missed. Thats awesome. like the "wilder"-bar... this is fuckin awesome. Props to you... greaaaat reaction!!! Im actually inprrressed!!! thx
Em is one of the few rappers that you can study his lyrics and find so many gems and really understand why he's really one of the best lyricists. It's so complex
If you pay attention to the beat you can hear it goes to your heartbeat..... BOOM❤BOOM❤...BOOM❤BOOM❤...BOOM❤BOOM..BOOM❤BOOM.❤..BOOM❤BOOM❤..BOOM❤BOOM❤..
First time ever! I heard it from a heart beat scared side'.. every track on his albums for me had its replay value & this one was crazy ' Em fact: Em watched alot of Serial Killer Documentarys(in his Outcome of what happen '... who knows what but ....that's where the Theme for Relapse came about' ... Including His features or feature with 50 at the time' .. Here's two that was on *Relapse:Refill* *Buffalo Bill* & *Music Box* 👌
first time watching and it went from "she cant even figure out it s the rhymes" to "she is an expert ,respect!!" reaaaaal quick. new fan here imma bingewatch everything!
Incredible Horror writing. This can compete with horror novels and scripts out there. The production on this song is crazy too and fits the lyrics. We hear that constant "uuuuuuuuuuuh, ooooooooooh" instrument throughout the entire song (sort of a synth but made from a human voice), which is such a sinister and mysterious sound. It adds this "ghost"/"serial killer"/"horror" feeling to the song.
Relapse album to me was the pure essence of Slim Shady. He was always known for wild disgusting lyrics, but this album focuses that on a concept and storytelling in the mind of a madman such a genius way. It's like an Edgar Allen Poe poem and Alfred Hitchcock movie wrapped in an album. It's perfect horror art.
Your video cracks me up, but very analytical. Unlike the girls he’s describing in his song, you’re actually really smart. 😉 I’m an Em fan, horror enthusiast, and observer of serial killers and I actually didn’t know some of those references/facts that you’ve pointed out in his song. Kudos to you. You made me a new fan of your channel. 🤩👌🏽✨
Omg I loved your analysis of this song, your knowledge and pointing out his serial killers references gave me a whole new perspective on this song! You rock! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻! You've earned yourself another subscriber!! Please you should react to Castle and Arose next! They're the last 2 tracks from his Revival album and they're meant to be heard back to back, give them a try! You won't regret it! 🔥🔥🔥
You did a awesome job breaking the meanings down! Good job ,the beat is a heart beat too ,oh yeah shout out to 2pac with the Brenda's got a baby shout in the beginning
Lilly if you haven't discovered "The Last Podcast On The Left" yet. I think you would really like it. They cover lots know and unknown killers. Like Jerry Brudos.
Eminem to me is saying he was responsible for all the serial killer killings but they can’t catch him because he’s changing MO’s Also a little bonus the beat is a heart beat
Eminem in his horrorcore bag was some of the best storytelling and flows in all of Hip Hop in my opinion.
That 2nd verse is arguably his best verse, it's so insane lmao
rhyme scheme is out of the world and he is mot just saying garbage he is telling a story without filler lines
I like the sevind verse. Yet that 3rd is the hidden gem!!!! The Skill and change up and word placements!!!
3rd is his best verse of all time
I personally think the Relapse album is SO underrated. Good reaction 👍

Underrated yes but Eminem should be on another level

😂😂

Same song and dance and 3 am I basically made the same comment without seeing yours
Half that album is clearly about meth
@@isaacsiedentop2821 what album did you listen ? Cuz all I hear is true crime cereal mirror and his pill addiction.
Also when he says. They all say they are real but I know that most arnt. He's referring to their breast.
This beat is insane. Piano, and the kick drum is a actual heartbeat, just listen to it carefully.
Bump, bump, bump, bump!
I'm here for any Eminem 💯 dope reaction
Fan facts: The rhythm of the song is in the form of a heartbeat.
I just noticed after listening to this song for about 10years, thank you 🙏🏼
Dope video breakdown. You're very aware and smart.
Besides that, I love the color coding on the lyric video and how it shows How eminem writes and the internal rhyme schemes. Just look at that second verse. Look at how beautiful that is and how hard that is to do. Eminem is alone in his realm.
Appreciate that
Great reaction. Eminem is a creative genius. What an album that is. fantastic.
Thanks for reacting to the color coded lyric video. It's incredible to see the insane talent with the pen. Love your channel. Thanks for continuing to kick ass.
I like how u taught me a few things about one of my favourite songs. Can you do “same song and dance” by Eminem it’s pretty similar to this
Music Box / Buffalo Bill 👍🏻
Yes, it’s nice song

This is another level.
Maybe his greatest verses. rhyme scheme, flow lyricism of his career and probably tightest display of MC'ing ever displayed
I just love the heart beat beat throughout this horror scene so amazingly delivered by Em. Massively underrated album.
That rhyme/colour scheme at 6:55 is INSANE
Wow, really loved this reaction. I have a whole new perspective of this song. I didn't realize all the references to the serial killers. Thanks for pointing it all out.

best part is the heartbeat in the background of the beat
Solid job!!! The serial killer knowledge put you ahead of alot of reactors on this song. Nice work!!
Good reaction! I've studied this song many times and have seen many reactions, but neither they or myself ever noticed the subtle references to past serial killers before until now. Automatic sub!
Arguably his greatest song ever
on technical schemes and rhymes, BY FAR.

Wow, this is one of my favorite Em songs AND I'm a big true crime buff, but I never connected the Christopher Wilder reference. Dope!
the girl named Brenda refer to Brendas got a baby tupac song 🤯
As the world turns
i have listened to this song for years and you have pointed so much out that i never noticed! so thank you lol XD
8:06 Might end up found dead by the lake. Reference to the Green river killer.
Great breakdown that mild bar was a double when you flip the W in wild it becomes mild!
You are amazing at breaking down the bars no lie. Definitely subbed and great work.

7:36 - Look @ that screen! Dat rhyme scheme doe!
If you listen closely, the beat is a heart beat. He also says "i dance to quite a different drum beat"
Ted bundy did escape through a court room side window and went on to kill more 😢, Em is knowledgeable in all his songs.
