- I'm on a mission! A crusade if you will, to prove that you don't need gobs of money to enjoy antiques and vintage! You know I'm all about my Virginia Antique Shows, especially the Fishersville Antique Expo and the Lucketts Markets in Berryville, VA. Both are HUGE antique, vintage, retro shows but the Antique Expo has a little bit of a flea market flare and feels a little more like flea market shopping sometimes. But I was just shopping for resale to stock up my antique booth but I was doing a little shopping for me as well. As an antique booth owner I love going to these events not only for the amazing treasure but also all the display inspiration. So... What does $100 buy at the Antique Expo vs. Lucketts?

Dear A.... you are true to your style/ colors/ items that group well-- you have that innate ability to spot "it" in a pile & pull it out ! Pairing the refined items w/ the less refined/ the usual w/ the unusual-- is what draws people to your booth. You know how to put it all together -- prize winning ! ( P.S. booth reveal coming soon ?) Omg! Cannot believe the prices of the stuff at the flea markets in your area. I'm a little sticker shocked. No wonder a lot of people that shops in the antique mall where i have my both here in Michigan are saying that are prices are very reasonable. Yes! Our area is definitely on the higher price side. Lucketts is about hr south of Washington DC.

I like the mix of items you found at both places....but it felt like prices at Luckett's were a touch better. I know it was crazy doing vlogmas last year, but are you going to give it a go again this year? No pressure ... really!

That ladder @5:43 was a total steal.
I would have also grabbed the bench @5:55, and possibly the windows @7:49.
Lastly, IF I had the room and IF I had the money, I'd buy that long green cabinet @15:32. That would be an amazing kitchen island or work island in a craft room. Love it.

I always enjoy your shopping trips! Making a game out of it is fun, but you are a reseller and you need to first and foremost take care of business! If things are super heavy, I always use the furniture slides under the feet of the piece.🤗

From what I’ve seen in our 250 mile radius of VA, we do have higher prices than the Midwest. Maybe one day I’ll pick there and ship it all back here!

Budgets are just a suggestion 🤣. A really soft suggestion. Also, I’m weird. I’d keep the bat to put in resin or as a wet in a jar and sell it 🤷🏻♀️. Free inventory! 😂
Over budget or not, I think your purchases will bring you good returns. Not so fond of the glass pieces, although I'm sure they're collectible. 🤔I admire your self control!!!

Hi Amanda, I think that the way you can stage pieces is second to none, so whatever you buy, you will make it work.
I particularly liked the round table for 225 and the Christmas trees on it. I would have bought table and all the trees for my home. I love how that was staged. I expect as a seller that was too expensive for you.

It is unrealistic to stay on budget when antique and vintage shopping. You have to buy it when you see it. Considering you where also buying some items to keep and not flip, it won't compute. You go girl. Oh and my favorite was the water buffalo horn mount.
Yes! So hard to stay on any kind of budget when antiquing especially at shows. I didn’t beat myself up too hard about it 😁

Just discovered you through Melanie. Fun video to watch and boy I sure wish out here in Washington state we had those types of things but they just don't seem to do well here for some reason. I'm on a waiting list to get into an interior Mall which has a very popular restaurant next to it so I've got my fingers crossed on that. Do you see much glassware being bought I noticed that you bought a covered dish but someone else I follow had mentioned that glass is not selling very well.
