Just in reference to your comment on gel's and reducing plastics - its a great point! I have for years now been using date's that i pit and insert peanut butter, can even add a little sea salt on top and they are delish and a top fuel source (plus can make batches and freeze). You can wrap them in paper and have them in the hydration vest pocket. Sounds a faff but really not and super easy, can also mess around with fillings, ive had pommegranate seeds in them even! Edit - they are also wallet friendly not to mention the lower cost on the environment!
@Ben Dates for me are like a super food, densely packed and stuffed full of glucose fructose, potassium, magnesium, Vitamin B's, fiber, add in the peanut butter fats and protein they work its like rocket fuel for the body (and actually really pleasant). Can really mix it up with what goes in them - I've even messed around with that lotus biscoff spread, nutella, small pieces of cheese, chorizo, jerky! The Chorizo oddly enough is also really good but point is you can mess around with the intake, ie more sodium/potassium in hot weather etc!
Only problem is, that worm had spent the last twelve hours trying to get across to the other side, then someone came along and put him back on the side where he started.
Incredible, great job!! How will you ever get back to the Alps? I bet a flattish half marathon looked like the UTMB 2 months ago! Day by day. I appreciate you filming your journey back to fitness. It's so relatable and inspirational for those of us who struggle with chronic issues. I love learning about different healthy options, for me and for the planet. Keep em coming! The history/ geography bits, too!
oh this makes my heart happy for you Flora!! 😍 And lovely to see Fiann out with you as well was lovely (can he stop making it look so easy though, really unfair!) x
Yay well done Flora ...Great effort and time , had a lovely run myself this afternoon upto to the suspension bridge ...a good 10k , oh and thank you for saving the worm
I’ve seen high5 do a big squeezy tub of gel that you can squeeze into your own reusable pouches… could be worth a try if you wanted some gels as well as food?
@@FloraBeverley I watch a guy on here called John Miles and he uses those little reuseable pouches and puts a mix of peanut butter (the thinner runnier one) and maple syrup in them and says it's really good fuel :)
