Something to note is that this games sales seem to be DRASTICALLY exceeding Nintendos expectations. Some stores were literally cancelling pre-orders (not delaying) I dont think that has happened since BoTW all the way back in 2017.
I wouldn't say drastically but it is doing better than they were probably expecting at the beginning, I wouldn't say it has a chance of outsalling origami king but definitely more than the original
I received this survey a day or two ago, and I still roughly remember the answer order that I got for the multiple choice questions. In my case, the multiple choice answer of "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" was the *last* on the list when I took the survey. I don't think the placement of that particular answer has any special significance; I think the answers order is randomised for each respondant, as answers in other multiple choice fields were different for me compared to your examples.
I wonder why advertising for paper mario titles has been so focused on paper mario being made of paper, crafting and folding himself. It's like all of the ads start with something like "it's Mario... and he FOLDS???" It feels like they didn't understand the real appeal of the mario RPGs
Actually I do remember finding that really exciting when I got the first one as a kid, it's just a fun idea that has a cool aesthetic and that they've used in really clever ways and I think it was a big part of the appeal and why they developed stuff like Kirby's epic yarn and Yoshis crafted world. But ultimately I agree, the paper aspect is still important to the aesthetics but I focusing on the characters is a much better angle
About your point at 7:10 / 7:20. My note is coming from a place of expertize. I've been working in the online market research industry for more than 8 years now (have not calculated how long exactly, it might be closer to 9 years honestly). Don't overthink the order. Most of the options in questions like that (that does not have a logical sequence) will be randomized, in other words will display in a different order for each panellist. That is made to minimize the bias. It is proven that the first and last responses tend to get chosen more regardless of their content. Randomizing options will minimize the bias. So what we have here is potentially (quite likely if you ask me) just a random order that the screenshotter got for their survey.
I cannot recall my formal education for that specifically. At this point I just know the fact from practice and don't question it too much. I will read more these days and I msy come back to this comment section. My guess is that it is not as simple as "not reading", although I believe this plays a role as well. My guess is that it is more so people being lead by their first impressions/considerations of something.
Got this video recommended to me when watching a different one, and as a fan of TTYD and some other Mario RPGs, I HAD to comment on this, given how the algorithm works. Let's see how this plays out, might as well take part in steering the future of Mario RPGs at least a little!
If we get a game with the creativity and story of The Thousand-Year door. the art style of modern games. and the hilarious writing of modern games then I can die happy
I really REALLY hope the mario & Luigi series gets revived because it's just not the same as paper mario and they could exist alongside each other... It feels to me like Nintendo has considered before that Paper Mario can't be an RPG if the mario and luigi series is already an RPG. Would be an interesting topic of discussion
I don't know what the sales will look like (I'm personally worried Nintendo didn't make ENOUGH physical units, and now there's a shortage). I don't know what most people's response will be. And I don't know what Nintendo will or will not take away from this all for future planning. I gave up being hyper-invested in Paper Mario, and being upset with what it wasn't versus respect what it was. But I'll be damned if it doesn't look like Nintendo is doing their homework in the wake of Thousand-Year Door remake's release.
A shortage makes more likely a second run (or possibly a version highlighting Switch 2 compatibility?) - and if not, people will buy digitally which will make it an even more profitable venture for them which only bodes well for the future of PM.
@@nintendoforecast Indeed. It’s also not been impossible to get physical imo. I manage to get one sold through Amazon and it arrived yesterday, so I’m hoping it was just an unexpected level of demand.
I think i remember that this was kind of the case when Metroid Prime Remastered was released, and they immediately ramped up the production for physical copies, so even if there was a shortage i wouldn't worry too much seeing the overwhelmingly positive reception
The problem with Bowser's Inside Story wasn't just that it released so late in the 3DS' life, but that it was also completely pointless AND WORSE than the original due to backwards compatibility and the form factor.
Y'all better do this survey right this time. We don't want another incident like what happened with Super Paper Mario's survey, a survey that I have yet to know even was legit or not. (Seriously, be honest with your opinions in the survey, or else you're doing the Pit of 1000 trials. No items. No badges. Level 1. All or nothing buddy.)
Nice. The survey about misinformation might be referring to the survey I remember hearing about that Nintendo Of America did about after Super Paper Mario when apparently people didn't like the character designs with how they were more like lines with the whole across dimensions vibe they went with. Curious if that might be what they meant.
I don't trust these types of surveys they always end up getting abused by the side that wants their stuff in the most, and this can definitely be a situation
I feel like it would be disingenuous to assume from Nintendo that the reason people love TTYD remake because they played the original 20 years ago and not a fan of the post SPM games would be nostalgia. Maybe people like TTYD because... oh i don't know... it's a good game? Most PM fans who love first 2 games also like SPM even though it's very different, it still has original charcters, new worlds and amazing story. Can we maybe have just more of this?
Keep the faith for advance wars buddy, I forecast a 30% chance we’ll get advance wars DS on the online service within a year of DS titles going live and a 10% chance we get a new title in the series by end of 2026 😊
The Switch LCD models support 30hz 2160p while the oled model support 60hz. This is because the oled model have all four lanes connected instead of only two. Therefore it would be cool if the TTYD team convinced Nintendo enable 4k Support.
This is all very wrong info. All versions of the switch, excluding the Lite, have a max output of 1080p @ 60Hz. Most TVs will register games as 1080p @ 60Hz even if the game runs at 30fps or a lower resolution.
can’t wait for Nintendo to rapidly repackage games they made decades ago for full price going forward. Not like they haven’t already been doing that already or anything.
I wish I would get a survey on that game cause Nintendo REALLY messed up that Cross Dressing Character. He is NOT A TRANS! I'll play the GameCube version.
Something to note is that this games sales seem to be DRASTICALLY exceeding Nintendos expectations. Some stores were literally cancelling pre-orders (not delaying) I dont think that has happened since BoTW all the way back in 2017.

Is there not a limit to the amount of pre orders? Maybe pre orders are used to judge demand?
@@sebastianguerrero6617lmao it likely will glad for it too and glad origami king didn’t sell that many copies good riddance to that gameplay style.

Ah - makes sense they'd be randomised. Great post - thanks.

It's possible that this might make more sense through a Japanese cultural lens given their love of paper, origami etc.

Same goes for 12:00. Almost surely this is a random order.
That is interesting, but why do the first and last options tend to get chosen more regardless of content? Do most people not... read?
