Mark Bierle, is a modest, soft-spoken Californian, several years ago he contracted with me to license a radial cam engine concept. Mark is truly one of the most talented designers I have ever worked with. He built 3 generations of the engine and proved the concept to be superior to any crank engine. Mark is a truly remarkable person. Years later I was there for his first flight of an electric powered plane. The battery power was provided by a couple of batteries from an electric drill. The flight was not much longer than the Wright brothers first flight, but, still it was amazing!

No question about duration of powered flight?

I flew an earthstar odyssey with him. His planes are great!!! The ONLY problem I had with them... If you use "pitch for airspeed power for altitude," you NEED to look at the airspeed when you add power or reduce it because the nose does the opposite of most airplanes in that it drops when you add power and raises when you reduce power. (Seriously.) But they're still great airplanes.

That is because it is a PUSHER -- with the engine overhead and behind.

How well it handles turbulence. I heard that is pretty good compared to other ultralights. How how does it handle turbulence and thermals compared other forms like delta trikes etc.

Yeah, their website seems to be of historical interest only. No ordering info and none of the external links work.

Certainly looks dead. None of the links to other websites work. Too bad... it's a pretty plane and would love to see more on the E-conversion!

"No training required" is an invitation to a Darwin award. There may be none required by law, but you still need to know how to fly.

Paid $7k for the batteries, but motor, batteries and controller can be had for $7k?
