Well, maybe you’re right. But *cops* take their orders from above - the police brass. So detectives will be instructed how much effort and time to put into an investigation. Police brass are appointed by the mayor, and the mayor is elected by the voters of New York. Homeless people - unhoused some prefer to say, don’t have connections to family. If they did, they woulld be staying with family, not sleeping on a train or on a rooftop.

I experimented when I was young never went off the rails and lived to see many more healthy days. So i agree let's normalize never touching drugs ever again because now its way too risky.
This might be foreign to you, but some people do use cocaine or ecstasy or other drugs recreationally. If they’re doing it in their own home and not hurting anyone they should be able to do it safely with a safe supply.
This may be foreign to you, but I was young as well and never gave drugs a single thought. These were SUCCESSFUL ADULTS who chose to risk their lives for a quick high. Useless deaths.

How ironic a social worker who judges other peoples lives and can determine their pathways, was the most errant of all. Disgraceful.

These young people had a lot of privilege leading to opportunities that many dream about. Don’t follow the Pied Piper boys and girls. The evidence is out there folks. So many people from the entertainment industry have careers crashed and burned due to drugs. Jimmie Hendrix, Amy Winehouse, … Nothing good comes from drug use.
What's that supposed to mean? Honestly drugs are fine 99% of the time. You know what isn't fine? Selling a opiate as a stimulate. Thats literally why people are dead. Not because they decided to do some yayo. But because some dealer decided that fetty was going to make there petty coke better. Idk dude. Sure they definitely wouldn't have died if not looking for something but also, they wouldn't have died if they assumed there coke had fetty in it. Which is why it's crazy for anyone other then the dealer taking responsibility for this.
Every user is not an addict, supercilious princess peanut. They may become one eventually, which so very often is the cause for their job losses, home losses, etc., etc., and drives them into poverty and street life. But only then do you pretend to care, in your insidiously Munchausen-ian exploitation of their suffering...

Exactly. I don’t have that kind of trust in people. If I can’t trust people near the AtM machine, do you think I could trust multiple drug dealers (hierarchy) that just want to make a buck? Women can’t have a drink with a stranger or ‘friend’ anymore without risking being drugged and/or raped. Maybe that’s where the toxic masculinity is coming from? In societies where there is more care for children, where healthcare is better available and where human life is valued-everyone has a better quality of life.
I appreciate how in America, no one is responsible for their own choices and behaviors, and there is always somebody else to conveniently blame. Who can we sue??
precisely..here in Australia govt-sponsored/funded/endorsed pill-testing at raves/concerts etc is just about to kick off. Whoopee...rme... Every time you try to ask one of the proponents pushing that bullshit about what happens when as is highly likely they hand some little punk back an MDMA, tell him hmm, well we guess it seems ok, and he takes it and is next seen kicking his legs in the air like Louie da Fly..then what happens next? No way any ambulance-chasing lawyers get involved at all suing taxpayers, right? I agree. I'm sorry but especially in today's world doing hard drugs occasionally as a recreational user is a very bad personal choice. Take responsibility for your own actions. Why on earth take the chance? Being addicted is a different story.
Ok so if your teenager sneaks into a bar on a fake id and her drink is spiked w/ fentanyl and she dies, it's weird to blame the spiker instead of holding her accountable for drinking alcohol illegally. Got it.

no drug user thinks the dealers care about them, thats not the point. but this was a really stupid business move, putting a drug that makes you sleepy at best or kills you at worst, in a relatively safe drug thats supposed to keep you awake is just plain stupid. it had to be cross contamination from the people who are dealing in large amounts of different drugs. if you want to cut another drug into coke, you use meth, not fentanyl...
"These children' participated in their own deaths, RIP for them, but like the Mexican president recented texted to Trump: "Deal with your own people's drug habits". No-one in their right mind, even an Ivy League mind, should be screwing around with drugs from dealers.
The USA is not Mexico’s only client. They’re killing their own people too dumbass, and not just by mass murder. Mexicans are hopelessly addicted to the drugs that their cool, suave, messianic drug lords produce
Mexican president has a first grade education bought and sold by a dirty cartel if I were that president I'd be on my knees to God repenting my nastiness
The drugs were laced with fetynol. People have been buying perks for decades and suddenly when you go buy a perk the dealer gives you fetynol because he decided to switch it without your knowledge. You bought a perk 30 and now your dead because it was really fetynol because somehow perks clandestinely became fetynol. The Mexican president has blood on his hands because he's a drug dealer and he's killed millions of Americans which is worse, if not, equal to what Soleimani did. AMLO stated America has a consumption problem to avoid dealing with the cartel problem in Mexico. He also stated that he would charge any Mexican official or citizen with treason if they played a part in setting up zambada which was his right hand man in the Sinaloa cartel. Zambada made sure AMLO was paid off so that he could safely maneuver his drugs throughout Mexico but they were also very good friends. Now his right hand man is captured by American authorities AMLO is getting back at America by poisoning the drugs because they disrupted his network. Drugs are not the only thing they have poisoned but they are poisoning food too. Food that people eat who don't use drugs. Food that kids eat at the grocery store. AMLO is an evil person and no one should ever defend that man because he's the diablo in the flesh. The executive office is for the works of public service and he has made his mission to kill the American public. You should probably do your research before you go defending people who you don't know.
Sounds like you’re anti-American and you support communist China bringing in deadly substances to purposely kill Americans, and you justify it by saying “well they shouldn’t have done drugs”. Drugs are bad, but when promising, smart 16 year old kids who try weed only one time are dropping dead because of fentanyl, we have a serious problem
I like how they've twisted this story to toss all of blame onto the dealer all while you have 3 adults with great accomplishments who chose to buy an illegal drug from an illegal distributor. It's sad that they lost their lives, but they made the choice to commit an illegal act which resulted in their deaths. The crazy part about this dumb story is how they make it sound like he was supposed to sell "good coke" instead of "bad coke"....like that'd be any better. Those 3 aside, what about all of the others who die daily, but aren't New York's finest? How about the media respect them as much as they're trying to do with these 3.
Smart thinking "toad"! . So, if Budweiser laced their beer and killed someone, they should/would be clear, right? After all, they are legitimate, not against the law and beer drinkers should not drink, right? Ask and pay for beer, you should get beer "toad"
I used to hang out with some strippers and they were actually really decent girls, but hey they liked to party. It goes with the territory. I was just a drinker at the time but I'd hang with them as they partied. Alot. This was a few years ago right before covid. Anyway they loved coke and eventually these girls would start getting sick while snorting and it was really strange. . Rumor was everything in Baltimore was being laced with feddy. Everything. Weed, Coke, pills it all had feddy. And I think since then Baltimore has more fentanyl overdoses than anywhere in the country. But Baltimore was the heroin od capital so it doesn't get advertised as much. Real epidemic though. I wised up and totally removed myself from nonsense. Couldn't watch it any longer. Why do ppl drink? Don't drink tf it's the same thing except your not poisoned with a sip of alcohol. Because the government regulates it. There was a point in time were it was illegal to drink and our government poisoned the alcohol killing 600 ppl in one night. It's the same thing with this how do think these drugs come into America our government allows it.
No, the person the dealer got it from is the bad guy but the dealer will go down for something he has no idea was in the supply he bought. It's pointless to go after the dealer as they get it from someone else. It's a chain, the dealer is the bottom of the chain. When I lost my son in 2022 everyone said to go after his dealer. Reality is his dealer didn't know it was in there either. He was just someone else's kid (literally) trying to earn extra funds, he wasn't trying to kill ppl. I couldn't do it. I couldn't ruin his life for something he wasn't aware of and didn't do.

@@harmonygritz2839 I wish every life has value. I thought I was doing the right thing when I was young. I was surrounded by drugs, gangs, sexual irresponsible behavior, and another child of a dead beat dad. I lost confidence in asking my parents with help with homework since 3rd grade and was considered a gifted student. I ignored and forgive thugs and racist white classmates in honors classes for bullying. I dreamed of monogamy while dudes seemed to be ringing their lives with over chasing tail even when they supposedly had a loyal loving girlfriend, wife, or both. Recreational drugs and booze never interested me. But like some of these sad comments point out most of the time those who do the bad things do not get hurt from it. Most cheaters in school won. Most women don't care about beating abused or cheating on, excitement from bullies that claimed to be hyper promiscuous with a giant penis attracts women, especially white women. All the rules women supposedly have and the vows that supposed to make sense are only to exclude people that don't have VALUE from the loop. Otherwise, we know women with roles like teachers, chief resident physicians, nurses, hr managers, judges, and prosecutors screw down and around their standards all the time not caring if they promised themselves to husbands and finances. It is good to play it safe and nice. But it mostly doesn't matter to nature and the almighty. There is a hospital I'm Saint louis that hires men like a couple of cousins without high school diploma or GED yet have Recreational dope in their system even before weed was legal. One of their fathers were hired after we barely saw him for his long prison sentence before being hired by the horny for IR with thugs hospital. Like him, his sons are short men that ended up in prison for brutally miss treating women. The women staff was screwing the same one the hospital was screwing in he clock. White women like black men that cheat on and abuse women. As a patient I did get crowned and humiliated as a patient while possible Peyronie's Disease symptoms were being laughed at. On my last visit with a slimy woman resident physician O was told the symptoms along with too much pain in the privates and heart failure did not matter with her laughing. After asking me about leaving some sleazy gym job with a pop belly supervisor in my face showing he is poking so many white women members to harass me she acted if I offended her for not liking practices she preferred. In the hall I had to hear and another woman playfully pointing out that men like my cousins are their types to hire. The funny part is the men don't stay long and don't benefit from working there either
As a mother I understand what the woman is saying but I think it’s a very painless death. I have 5 years clean from a vicious IV addiction. I overdosed many times on dope & fentanyl. I’m so grateful I made it through. But I will say this, most of the time you don’t know you’re overdosing & there’s nothing you can do about it. You just go to sleep & never wake up. I see everyone saying “don’t get high” .. they didn’t intentionally do fentanyl. They wanted cocaine & there’s a big difference between the two. If you’re using, get help!! If you’re thinking about it, DONT!!
Absolutely and go to the dealers with high QC standards. If a dealer is using a 14 yo to mix i suggest the dealer with the 16 yo mixing because of the experience factor. Word.
Exactly what I was thinking. Its fentanyl so it kills any pain and you fall sleep and don't wake up. No pain involved. Its sad and I get what the mom is thinking but I hope her knowing her daughter didn't die in pain helps.

People care you just dont seem them, I lost two family members to what historically hit the east coast in predimonately, and I mean predimonately 95+% caucasions/whites before Fenatnaly grew as the primary pain drug of choice.
I am so sorry for your loss. But I gotta play devil's advocate. Cold case? I think people need to also look at the addict and allow themselves to see that they are making these choices. Taking illegal drugs is a gamble. Many addicts die everyday and they are holding accountable, too, for their deaths. I wish you much healing 😢
No, an overdose is when you knowingly take too much of a substance. A poisoning is when you take something and something else is in it. If you ate spinach and it was contaminated with rat poison its not a rat poison overdose, its as poisoning.
Normally I would agree but these ppl thought they were buying cocaine but got fentanyl. Big difference. If they CHOSE to buy fentanyl n died that's one thing but they were tricked. Thats fkd up. I would do a line of coke but would never do fentanyl.
The way they described these drug addicts as some type of angels is mind-blowing! They were "functioning" drug addicts that didn't even take the drug to party. They took it alone. At home, or a hotel. Accountability is much needed here. You NEVER know what you're taking, when you're taking an illegal substance.
@manichairdo9265 and the fact they did normal things doesn't change them being drug addicts. This report went to an extreme and only painted them as model citizens. They weren't. They could've mentioned both.

True that. I’m conflicted b/c in my heart of hearts I believe there’s a good chance that the three families impacted voted for Biden. Biden willfully flooded the country with fentanyl. I can’t completely blame the drug dealer, b/c he’s in the game to make money & sell a good product. To me, 30 years is fair, b/c the dealer killed 3 people unintentionally. Agreed. I’m sorry that the parents are going through so much pain but so are many parents every day all over the world, losing their children to deadly drugs and bad choices. I hope they heal and can get through this and realize that Mr. dealer was actually trying to be a good guy by texting them and following up. I’ve never heard of a drug dealer doing that and I’m sure he was worried about losing his buyers but still, he was far more responsible than any drug dealer I’ve heard of. They aren’t dealing with their pain and anger that their children were users and need someone to blame. Money and their lawyer help them do that.

Whatever happened to personal accountability? This started with a text from a user to a dealer, “You coming through?” No where did it say the dealer forced any of them to use drugs. Supply and demand by consenting adults, no one is a victim.
Nowhere did they ask for fentanyl. They asked for cocaine. That's what they should have been given (and what they assumed they were going to take). When you knowingly give people something laced with fentanyl, you're poisoning them & should be held accountable for their death. Yeah, they chose to use cocaine. Obviously not the best choice. But they didn't use fentanyl nor did they ask for it. Which makes the dealer responsible for anyone who died from his product. So yes, let's place the accountability on who is at fault here.

That works out to 10 years per life.

I don’t have sympathy for privileged, upper class, Ivy League professional adults who gambled with their lives and lost. The supplier did them a favor by texting a warning about the potency of the product. Yes, the supplier is accountable, but so are the users. That’s what the parents don’t want to admit…that their beloved children were drug users and abusers, and not actually very smart. An actual drug addict would’ve had a more legit excuse than these casual users, because addiction is a disease. Play deadly games, win deadly prizes.
Imagine the social worker in charge of your children’s well being ,being a drug addict but trying to take your kids from you for something less? That’s crazy very hypocritical
