- Wildlife photography and video is a super relaxing hobby. Exciting, frustrating and rewarding. Usually I just go for walks in my local area, and I mostly see the same birds and animals. But I saw some new stuff this time!

Why no Ulanzi clip link? It's not in your Amazon list either. Why you make support you hard? Me sad.

@cameraconspiracies Me glad you read photo-speak. Me grateful, enjoy commission, you deserve coin!
I believe this is the only creator that can film an inanimate object and make it worth watching. He's on another level we will never achieve.
Your birds are:
@ 2:35 - White-throated Sparrow
@ 3:00 - American Tree Sparrow
You are actually correct in saying the Wood Ducks look like Mandarin Ducks. They're closely related and are the only two species in their genus.
You forgot the dead photographer @ 7:30
@@tech-utuber2219 Kasey identified it. 😉
Kasey! You're the best! So kind of you to give me a shout-out in the video.
It was great bumping into you that day and I've been waiting to see the wood duck footage. Oh my gosh you got me laughing so hard describing the wizard bird and stripey bird and all that. Here's what they were:
2:25 White-throated sparrow (though he does look like he could be the wizard of the bird world)
3:05 American tree sparrow (the bi-coloured bill along with the red stripey crown gives it away)
It was so fun watching that squirrel build that nest. I can't even count the number of times it went up that tree with leaves while we were standing there. I've seen it since, and it's definitely enjoying its tree loft.
As for the photographer-meets-Canadian-tiger, I figured it's like some people 'throwing in the towel', only this poor, frustrated photographer, being without a towel, decided to throw in the glove instead. I guess we'll never know the true story.
Great video and looking forward to the next one!
P.S. You are hilarious.
Thanks Kaliopi, was great to see you too! Looking forward to our next one :)
I used to see squirrels eating nuts and fruit. Yesterday I filmed one eating an entire hotdog bun.
For me wildlife photography is therapy for the stress in life. I have the Sony a6700 with the same 200-600 that you have and it's a magical combo for photos and video. I grabbed some 4k120 video of a Pileated Woodpecker making a nest and the footage just blew me away. I can't wait to get out at any opportunity for some therapy. Thanks for the video.
100%
“This is when I realized birds can fly” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is the best wildlife narration that I have ever heard. Thanks for introducing us to new species of birds.
The only thing better than seeing a new bird out on a walk, is when you have a decent lens and camera to get a closer look :)
The duck section did it for me! Brilliant! Stay cheap!
You need a dedicated channel to this type of content! CC Nature Calls Wonderful video of birds! Thanks for sharing! Always so fascinating and informative!
For the longest time I would enjoy my coffee in the morning wondering what bird I heard with such a loud, complex and spectacular song. It turned out to be a song sparrow, I was amazed it was such a small bird filling the air with so much life. I, as I am sure many others also, can identify any birds by their call, Blue Jay's, Robbins, Cardinals, Redwinged Black Birds, Doves, Chicadees, and many others, but I never knew what bird it was that sang so increadibly, untill I hunted around in the nearby trees and then saw that tiny sparrow on a wire singing her little heart out. Nature offers so much fantastic and complex beauty, it's allways a better day when you get to enjoy even just a little of it.
I really share your excitement and joy when it comes to the wildlife camera walks. I enjoy these episodes a lot 😁🤝
Kasey. You are a phantastic narrator! Both contentwise and narration technically. And even best of all: no AAAA or AAAM. It is a pleasurable auditory experience. Particularly when you're on the Sennheiser e 945.
Help, what is 'AAAA or AAAM'? There’s a Like in it for you if you can tell me. No, wait, I already used it.
@@raffriff42 As you understood, I meant that many people fill inn a sound between words and sentences, a sound that means nothing, it is just a filler, and when they aaaaa do this in nearly aaaam every sentence it becomes aaaa too much. Luckily, Kasey never does it!
@@viktorpaulsen627 Okay thanks!
My theory about the glove, it was a photographer all right. Theory 1: He probably wandered ten feet off the trail and became hopelessly lost. During the frosty cold weather, he was forced to eat himself and the glove is all that was left. Theory 2: He was consumed by an angry flock of wood ducks in revenge for the Chinese bakery incident.
Life is so much richer when you learn all of your local birds by sight AND sound. Much of birding is done by sound. But anyway, birds are wonderful creatures, and it's always fun to be a know-it-all.
3:19 That mouth breeding king red headed bearded sparrow is your best bird footage so far!!!
7:54 shutter was too low LMFAO
7:58 Yep, gotta watch out for those damn Canadian Tigers…
Now here's the wizard bird....:D
Go get that hoot owl again. He was cool.
Wood ducks! Score! I love sparrows too. The challenge is just figuring out which one you’re seeing.
I couldn’t believe THIS, but then I saw it with my own eyes
I have thought too that sometime filming in standard is just so much better.
About the "photographer" story, , how do you do it?😂
Pure talent!
The R8 looks like it's got beauty mode turned on 😂 Looks like skin is smoothed over to remove blemishes.
It's Canon bro, they don't tell you what they are doing to the image. How much denoising is actually going on? You can't know ;)
That's why we love Canon :)
Collaborating or even just getting out and working with like minded people who share an interest but with different skill sets and understandings allways makes for opportunities to find deeper meaning or enjoyment. Some say your getting old when you develope a fondness for birding or landscapes and nature, it's actually a sign of greater consideration outside the confirmation and development of EGO. I find this kind of connection with nature and ellements of the environment very grounding. This footage is fantastic, I get lots of great shots when I'm out with my Photography tools, I would really like too develope a better video capture process, I have to find the perfect Camera for that. LOL, Great Video Kasey! 👌 Thanks for sharing!
Have to try wildlife it seems. Awesome shots.
I use faithful profile on the R8, pretty happy with the results, log isn’t for me, don’t judge me 😂
Happy weekend 👍🏻
Hey that's fucken OJ's missing glove bro, you found it.. lol..
Realy enjoy your channel man. So funny and lots of stuff to learn to 💪 and you gave me some awesome ideas😂
😂 OJ was in Canada?
Love the Cardinal Red bird, we do not have them in the UK, nor do we have black squirrels, love the humour 🤣🤣🤣
PS. I wonder how many people watching the quality of all you videos don’t change the settings on Utube to 2160 4K as Utube Auto is 720p watching from my smart phone, to save you data, no one talks about this and so what people are watching is not correct to any given camera, feel free to talk about it and leave comments 😎😎😎
Bedazzled by the xlr red.
I really like the canon r8 image, it looks beautiful and cinematic af, probably the best talking head camera you ever had in terms of image, the cinema is definitely yours. I don't know if it requires you a lot of work behind the scene, but the quality is definitely there.
I'm into birding but not these tiny little tree birds. I am after the big ones - herons, egrets, cranes, hawks, owls, ospreys, and especially eagles.
I feel like I just went on a photo walk with Calvin or Christopher Robin. Well done!
White-crested Bearded Wizardbird 😂
Whenever I point out a White-breasted Nuthatch, my hiking companions don’t believe me that it’s a real bird name 😢
That's hilarious. Nuthatches are so common, too. I've seen them crack open nuts by jamming them into a tree crevice and hammering them with their beaks. That's how they got their name; so you can blow your friends' minds with that little fact, too.
Oh, the poor glove. Live is soo crewel.
Looks like American Tree Sparrow eating the cotton.
I recommend getting an inaturalist account and let the app identify your birds from stills from your videos
On your Canon/saturation issue. My answer is yes it's noticeable and my first assumption is it's the lens you have to "correct" for not the sensor. Second thought is it's Canon's biases in the processing software.
I am considering the 150-600 fuji. But it seems so slow at F8. The reviews arent very helpful.
The shutter speed was too low and he got ate by the tiger 😂😂😂😂😂
Hey Kasey, would you consider borrowing a sigma 150-600 from Aden camera and giving us a peak with a walk around like this one? I'd like to see just how soft it is on the long end and I live in the corn-n-beans, no big city camera outfits with loaners or renters.
7:29 You never know what you may find out in the wilderness...
Just went on Olympus Canada website and looked at the 150-400mm f/4.5 tc1.25 pro IS, ever since it came out it was listed at $9,999.99 which was expensive but at a competitive price, overnight OM systems has jacked the price up of that lens by $10,000 which makes it more expensive than equivalent lenses from full frame systems, which is absolutely crazy, now the new price is $19,999.99 Canadian dollars which is astronautical if someone wants that type of lens why would they buy a micro 4/3 lens when they can go full frame, this just does not make sense, wondering if they stop manufacturing this lens.
That's odd - just checked the local Polish OM System site, and it's roughly 8.5K USD, which is understandable after accounting for the customs and taxes. Still definitely an "ambassador-tier" lens, but not such a massive price hike as you've mentioned.
HDRPQ turns you into clay
MarcusPix is always right!
Wait....a tripod? Don't think I've ever seen you shooting from a tripod unless you're holding it out in front of you while walking. Doing a little photography there? Awesome!!!! You sure you weren't at Michael Jackson's wildlife preserve and found one of his crotch gloves? I see the Eagle is back in your studio shot. Looks good with that backlight. Love that you enjoy getting out in the woods and walking/hiking. It's soooo good for the mind and soul. Thanks for the laughs and for taking us along on your trek. Have a great weekend.
Who said I was on a tripod? I'm never on a tripod doing wildlife.
@@cameraconspiracies Thought I saw you on one in the beginning of the video? Now I have to go back and look... LOL!
@@cameraconspiracies Oh yeah, that's definitely a tripod... :-)
@@charliejg that was the girl's camera and tripod. Not Kasey's.
@@JohnDrummondPhoto Ahhhhh.... well, that's not as much fun!! LOL!
Just here for the intro song.. all I want is the perfect camera 📷🫶🏻
Lool I’m the opposite, the most annoying part of his videos 😂
Hey, will you be reviewing the upcoming Canon 200-800mm lens? Interested in the lens at all?
Cameras should have the software built-in to automatically identify species!
Best... Bird Video... Ever!!! :)
4:42 that looks like HLG
So u got the new rode colored xlr cable. Like
Epic.
There is an application called merlin you can put on your phone. Give it a picture or send it recorded bird sound and it will tell you the name of the bird. It makes me feel a lot smarter than I am, because I am staring to pick up the actual names of birds. Once in a while it makes a mistake, which I figure is just to keep us from getting cocky. But please, don't take it too seriously. I like the name "King Duck" a lot better than "Cormorant".
I don't use phones like that, I have no data.
This might be weird to say but if we care about camera market, we should wear it out more often to let young and even older people to notice and know it is still a thing in today age and smartphone can't replace them yet, that will drive interests and sales of camera plus you might get new gig from it too, isn't it? There are people think you can just take with smartphone and you are outdated if you still take with dedicated camera. Like Thorsten Overgaard said, Always Wear A Camera.
Cool. Cool cool cool.
The T-shirt shows as a solid block of red; I thought my screen was broken. Canon and Sony cameras are different when it comes to profiles. In Sony cameras, Neutral is the only profile that works. In Canon cameras, however, Faithful is the only profile that doesn't work. It's too washed out.
Study the owl, be the owl and they will appear.
@ 1:15 you're asking us about the face colors. My last comment was Canon always looks anemic, and I don't know why people say it has the best color science, when it seems to be missing something. I finally found a word to express it and that is Anemia/Anemic and pale looking. It might have to do with their white balance being pretty "dead on balls accurate" and white is always white, whereas every other camera manufacturers whites look a little grey. But that being said, Fuji used to turn red eyes into white-whites of the eyes in JPEGS for some bizarre reason.
Canon takes away the golden hour, and makes it look anemic and reds are pale and blues are pale - its their look to their footage. This sort of, you're in a religious cult at their Crystal Cathedral in glowing white gowns and suits.
Sony puts on some golden hour at all times of the day, in fact a lot of them do golden hour white balance, except Pentax.
El White Beardo Super Mega Sparrow
Please please make videos like this 100,000 extra thumbs up.Can you do a video and pictures of a7ii and please.
I tried capturing bald eagles take flight from a high tree branch in 120fps on my Sony RX10m3 and totally screwed the shot with one little bump miscalculation. Maybe I shouldn't have been zoomed in to 600mm on the Carl Zeiss... 📽
did you know that birds evolved from dinosaurs? & we all evolved from sludge, we did. Maybe not Octopi though... some say the Octopus is a mixture of off world DNA... so they say.
Your background music is appropriate. You should teach other youtubers.
Literally saw the first second or two and thought this must be the R8; nice colours, and science fiction background (so much blur)…then I thought your bicep looked a bit bigger and saw the Sony lens you carried for the birds ! Much preferred your Z30 btw, but not really for wildlife.
I think there’s more nutritional value to cotton than lettuce. Poor bird.
The Canon cripple hammer struck the R8 hard - your desaturated skin tones make it look like you need to go to the ER! 😅
You use a tripod? Or was it your friend's
Wait what.. @0:20 you are shooting Wildlife with an xt4?
I used to.
Owowell’s,most elusive bird, more so than the double breasted cockgobbler.
@6:25 Well yeah, but then you want less megapixels and less resolution..... You're a walkin talkin cliche my friend. All you need to do is shoot super wide at 8K with 49 trillion and a half million pixels, that you seem to despise for some reason. Then simply reframe and zoom in post and like magic, you probably did get the shot if you went wide enough, but do you have the resolution to zoom in post? Well not the way you're tryin to do it! Cheers 🍻
I said I wanted to track birds in 240 or 480 fps. 8k on most camera is limited to 30 fps.
@@cameraconspiracies:
Yeah man, I got that part. But I don't know of any cameras that can do 8K at those speeds. However, you can slow it down in post with several options you already have, Davinci and Topaz. We all gotta piss with the cock we got, until a better tool comes along. Cheers 🍻
@@Finite-Tuning Those post options don't work well, even if you start with 240 fps. They would be unusable at 30 fps.
🪵+🦆+🥪=🤣
Stop filming handheld. Use a proper tripod wuth gimball head for god sake. That would help so much for the sway AND your tracking.
Calm mechanic 76
Now you know why so many bird photographers are out there, they don't earn a dime from the hotography but still spends huge amount of money on fast cameras and long lenses and everything related in between!!
Genius video 👏👏👏
Fantastic. The whole world is worried about nature dying out and you find life out there. The other thing they are worried about is David Attenburgh dying, why when we have you. Stop worrying people.
I’m the first one 💯💯💯
I hate wildlife..spend hours waiting and nothing happens...you get 5.shots for 7 hours 😂😂😂😂😂.....yeah nah
Wildlife lol
Dude just use google lens to identify the birds 🤣
This is why bird lovers switch from video to photography. You shoot in burst mode 1000's of shots per minute, then point the camera in every direction, and out of those 1000's of photos one of them catches the bird in flight. Video exposes all the flaws.
