- Most people use their smartphones, and the camera industry isn't exactly advancing at lightning speed. A lot of strange cameras released this year, are any of them even worth it? Insta360 Ace Pro for A.I? Nikon Z30, will those specs hold up much longer? Is L mount dead? Why wasn't Son FX30 12mp with 4k 240 fps and HD 480 fps?

L Mount does get lenses it's just that they are not always marketed that way. Like the new Sigma 70-200 was reviewed heavily on TH-cam in its Sony E mount variant and then they throw in quickly 'also available on L Mount'

I have a Panasonic LX10 and I have to say, the Leica lens on that thing is the sharpest one I have out of all of my cameras. The video on that camera is AMAZING.

Seems you have solved the focusing issues with the Ace Pro. Footage of you behind the table looks great!
It's a fixed focus camera which focuses at 11.5 feet. If you look more closely at the table footage you'll see that CC is blurry while the houses in the background are pin sharp. That's because CC is closer than 11.5 feet so he is out of focus. There is nothing that can rectify being optically out of focus.

@@PeaceKeepingMissile WTF? It's a fixed focus camera that uses a hyperfocal distance of 11.5 feet. That means everything closer than 11.5 feet will get blurrier the closer it is. Everything further away than 11.5 feet will get sharper the further away it is. AND I will start blocking idiots. I can' stand them.

Hey there fellow x3000 lover. I have ordered and tested my osmo pocket 3 recently. It was amazing. I had it set on auto @24 fps and it was better than my a7s in low light lol. Not to mention the stabilisation and autofocus. Even @ 24 fps the footage isn't choppy (I have been recording in 50fps lately because didn't like 24/25fps choppiness when panning) when panning because of gimbal movement (default one, it is nice and gentle. Not slow nor fast. Just ideal)
I don't think you will be disappointed. Best camera I have had so far. One thing I hate is the none-removable battery (obviously) and the second is it is fragile. I was afraid to film when it started snowing even lightly... How the hell do you even wipe/clean lens on that?!
Anyway, I knew about those aspects and I still loved it so much that I can't wait for another adventure to film some more. Finally... no matter if it is day or black night I can easily record what my eyes see. With 24 fps I didn't even have to set it to some low light mode. 24fps is enough for the camera to see exactly what your eyes do.
There is also one more thing that I hated... You have to manually download app from dji website. It's not on google play/store etc. because of some privacy issues. After installation I had two instances when my phone froze or glitched (in a span of 14 days)... Never such thing happened before... I am a little paranoid (hopefully the Chinese are not trying to hack my phone...) but hey... There is no better camera... (still hard to find anything better even when you double the cost...) and it is going to be super hard to beat anytime soon. Take the plunge and enjoy :)
Their customer support (I had a question about the refresh plan) was super nice and responsive too.

@@noodlessoul8356 not a problem for me at all. I film city most of the time and when I film my face once again no problem. Works like a charm for me so far/ Only one adventure with it so far although a few hours of filming'/

There is nothing wrong with being a vlogger, but the standards and needs are very different if you are doing work for ad clients, or doing feature films with marquee talent and investors. Then you need something extremely reliable, fast and flexible in post. No place in those scenarios for 8 bit you can't grade much and will force you to get your ISO and so on correct on set (wasting very expensive set time, maybe leading to an error that you can't fix ).
That table was in excellent condition. Great score!

the S5 II is a very appealing camera, but the lenses are few and too expensive. With more affordable glass I would have bout an S5 II for sure.
really? it does not get much more affordable than the 20-60 and 70-300 from Panny, with one of the primes from Sigma for the occasional lowlight. I find both inexpensive zooms to punch above well their price. Missing are long telephoto options, though, except the monster large sigmas.
@@chcomesyou're missing out if you're not using the pana 1.8 and sigma art primes. The 20-60 in particular was a huge bottleneck for me.

I would probably just adapt EF glass if I got an S5 II but I get not everybody likes using adapters and it throws the weight off.
I know why people use the selfie camera when blogging. It’s for convenience. Quite a trade-off, yes. I must admit that I do it too. But the footage can be very distracting if you don’t watch where you are actually looking. The reason that Casey Neistat started using sunglasses in his vlogs is because it looks funny when you are looking at the screen (in his case the screen of a ‘real’ camera) instead of looking into the lens. You can tell when you are looking at the screen instead of the lens and it can be off-putting. In this way, he could make sure that his shot was framed the way he wanted it while not having that weird “looking into the distance” look in his eyes.

Can you call Uber for a table? Nice score there! My first thought when you were all excited about that table was about what the Mrs. was going to say about it! LOl! I think, after so many videos of vlogging camera examples is that a phone provides the best compromise between ease of use, image quality and ease of editing. I want to do the least amount of editing possible. Maybe you could do a few videos comparing various phones just for vlogging. Of course, getting your hands on phones might not be the easiest I guess. Anyone out there vlogging with a Google phone have any suggestions(other than get rid of it!)? I currently have the Pixel 6 and I tend to keep phones a long time before changing. Hope the photo critique idea goes well. Sounds like fun. Maybe I will even submit some pics. I have to agree regarding the L-mount.
You would expect more when three very large lens makers are developing for one mount.
I kind of miss a lens designer like Zeiss developing for that mount. Most of the lenses (including the mega expensive ones) are all very clean and boring. Very good. But boooringgg

You should borrow a 6 K Pro. It’s amazing but the files are huge. 2x good as the 4k. I loved it but could afford to buy the memory to hold projects.
Don’t do the 4K, it’s a rabbit hole you don’t want to go down.
cam worth buying - Wyze cam V3 - works pretty good for night sky timelapse - dark sky will record satellites - meteors - stars and clouds -
picture quality not very good but fun easy to use and only $35 - i have several

I have a galaxy s9, in the pro video mode you can shoot 24 fps, Toneh 1.5. I like how you can turn the saturation and contrast down all the way for a better look post.
I own the OG and the 4K. Both are great cameras. The advantage of the 4K is that it has an app, so you can use the app to focus on yourself, as long as you don’t have a manual lens, then just hit record on your phone. So you don’t have to focus on a branch like on the OG. Plus it’s easy to color grade, just change it from project to clip on Davinci, and click on use LUT, and you are done. Plus you can get a used one pretty cheap. Everybody should own one.

@@RafalGendarz Yeah, the app has a one click autofocus, plus you can program 3 different focus points, plus it has a slide bar so you can manually focus. You can change just about everything on the camera from the app too.

I heard from the channel stewart and alina (I think...?) that the ace pro has an upcoming software to give you the option to take the HDR off. Might make the image quality better.

Am i right that any full-frame sony camera isn't capable of shooting open gate because of its small mount size? Just a minor thought that has been bothering me in buying a new sony camera. I mean, technology is obviously leaning towards open gate, in that case, sony must make a new mount in order to catch up with other camera brands (panasonic, fuji, nikon with their future update).
not sure for what i ll say... if that was the case and the mount was small how the already full frames have no issue when they use the whole sensor for photos ? the a9iii for example makes 30fps photos using the whole sensor ...its like a movie
@@sardanapalos there are issues, i've seen an example of a strong vignette (mount edges in the corners) using 24-70 gm at 32 or 34mm.
It's just ridiculous that they use the oldest mirrorless mount, which was implemented for aps-c cameras (sony nex lineup), on a high-end bodies like FX3 or FX6.

I gotta tell you Kasey, I was totally surprised by the Pocket 3 photos. Please go out and take some and let us know what you think. I have compared them to my iphone 14 Pro Max and in some cases I prefer the Pocket 3 photos over the '14.
