Probably the best news for the local economy since we lost Butlins. I hope this materialises and Henry himself sees it all through and enjoys the satisfaction it brings. Come on Vale of Glamorgan ..... make it happen!
As the owner of a motorhome, I speak for many other campers and caravan owners. Wouldn't it be great to be able to pitch up near to Barry Island ? All motorhomes and caravans are pretty much self contained. All we ask for is a fresh water tap and a chemicle waste disposal point. We'd be happy to pay £15 a night just for that. Amenities and facilities could come later. Maybe an hourly shuttle bus to and from the site, to the Island, relieving some traffic chaos ? However, many land owners would prefer permanent static holiday homes and the extra income that they bring. I cannot fault them, I do the same, but spare a thought for the clean living, genuine touring holidaymakers that own Motorhomes and Caravans. It's time this country started to cater for us like Europe does. Well done Henry. A long post, but it's now off my chest !! Thank you Mr.D. xx

Was down Barry over the weekend. (Not been there for 22yrs) That new ride Aerospace way to high for me. Good chat to a fella building the Wacky gold mine. Have to visit in the summer.

Great news for Barry, its about time something is being done about the lack of accommodation for visitors to Barry Island and the surrounding area, i just hope the COUNCIL are on board , I remember when Ken Rogers [ HYPERVALUE ] had good plans for a Hotel on the site of the old Butlins pool, but if i am correct it was turned down by the COUNCIL ? GOOD LUCK HENRY . Another top update Mr D
Steve you know that temporary car park at the old Butlins camp in 2016 there was talk about a warner hotel and resort being built there but it all fell through and nothing happened. Why didn't they ask Henry about putting something on that site like a small hotel or caravan park . I think that site is still meant to be for holiday accommodation but 7 years on it's still a car park . It's good news about the sully site but even better if it could be on the island . This would be brilliant! I love Barry island. We travel from Manchester every year and stay in the travelodge or Premier Inn. We won't stay more than 3 days as its just mot practical all in 1 small room with children. We would love to stay longer and explore other places like Cardiff etc. I used to visit barry island as a child when it was butlins. I absolutley loved it.

Strange though, as this is in Sully, it is a shorter drive to nearby Penarth than to slightly further away Barry Island, due to the traffic leaving and crawling along Barry Road structures. Also, its next to a children's palliative care facility, so it may be tricky to get permissions sorted. Interesting idea though 🤔
Henry has been trying to buy land on the island for years without any luck, he fell in love with the Coastal location of this plot. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly for him, at the moment the land is an eyesore & such a waste of a beautiful location 🤞😊

There's no train station but a bus runs from almost outside to Barry Island & to Cardiff 😀👍
