Not worth the money. After three months of ownership, mine is in the repair shop. I will be trading it in before the three year warranty runs out. I would not recommend the CE-04.

I owned one for about 4 months and in that time I drove about 2000km on my CE04 and about 2500km on loaner bikes because of problems. It even went back to BMW in Germany and stayed there for about 1 month. It came back with a new batterypack an after driving It for about 100km the same problems reappeared. I then traded the CE04 for a BMW R Nine T Urban GS…

The rear brake/turn indicators are made out of rice paper with tons of owners on the forums complaining about how easy they break. I’m 5’7 and I wanted to sit where the hump was also when I test rode it. They make multiple seats with different seating positions. The realistic range will be 40-60 miles depending how fast you ride, weather, if you have the heated grips and seat on, etc.

I have one. It does about 60-65mls outercity. Innercity it's up to 110mls. Using heated grips doesn't lower the range, an the heated seat only about 1-2mls, but in reality it's less, because You use it only shortly, because it's very hot.

I had a BMW K bike, my best friend had three BMW convertibles and a BMW motorcycle. my daughter was dating a BMW automobile dealer mechanic..
let me put it this way
BMW earned a reputation for building, probably the best motorcycle shop until the early 80s for reliability, solid engineering, ease of maintenance, resale value . something happened to BMW in the 1980s when they tried to compete with the Japanese motorcycles. I will only say that, they sure are not what they used to be.
as for their cars, my friend that had three BMW convertible cars that were leased and returned, and then he would buy them, he loved them, and they were nice looking cars, he was the type of guy that would get out with a can of spray detailer, and spot the bugs and bird poop off of his car constantly.. he would take those cars only to a BMW dealer to do even the most simple jobs like, changing the oil or changing the air filter. He would take those cars into the dealer for their prescribed service at prescribed mileages in the owners manual, and they would shake him by the ankles every time. It was never less than $1200.
his last BMW a few years ago, he needed a battery. Battery prices have gone up, but he needed the “very special “battery for a BMW that fits under the back passenger seat. So it wasn’t $150, it was $375…
my daughters boyfriend that was a BMW service department mechanic told me that he loves BMWs, because he makes buckets of money working on them because you must take your car to the BMW dealer for a lot of simple jobs because you need to have a very special one of a kind BMW tools to do the job. It’s job security for the dealership service department.
my friend has had three BMW convertibles in 10 years also gets talked into buying those extended car warranty’s. They advertise on television all the time. He was paying $155 a month for over 10 years for that insurance for repairs on all three of his BMWs one after the other..
but when he had to turn in a claim to the insurance company, here’s how it went
his convertible top would not go up and down, not covered
his driver seat frame broke, not covered
his transmission was an automatic, but it had a shifter that you could put into manual mode and pretend you were driving a stick shift. By following an H pattern, they were breaking in all the BMWs, because not even salvage yards had any to sell. They were on backorder, not covered.
is control module to operate the power windows and door locks in the drivers door failed- notcovered..
over the years I told my friend he is wasting his money with that extended car warranty because they don’t cover anything when you really need it. So we sat down and figured out how much money he spent on those three BMW cars for maintenance and repairs, not counting what he paid for the cars.
$155 a month for 10 years is 120× $155.. that’s more than $18,600. Then there was the cost out of his own pocket to do those four major repairs that were not covered. They added up to over $11,000 including some other smaller items that were not covered
that was almost $30,000 spent on repairs and insurance that was supposed to cover the repairs
I finally convinced my friend to buy a brand new car and never never never buy an extended warranty on anything ever again ..
he took my advice, invited, Brand New, Toyota. He’s had it for about five years now, and he has had zero problems with it.
The moral of this true story is, when you buy a BMW, you have to marry the dealer ..
before I would buy a BMW scooter, I would read a lot of feedback from the Internet, I would watch a lot of videos about them on TH-cam, comparing them to other brands, then I would buy a Suzuki Burgman, or a Honda scooter.. BMW is living off of a name they made for themselves back in the 50s 60s and 70s. I have had 108 motorcycles so far, one BMW…
that BMW was the most flawed motorcycle I have ever owned. It didn’t break down or get me stranded anywhere, but it had a weird front end that no other company has even tried to copy. that front and made that motorcycle, feel extremely top-heavy, unstable, and actually terrifying at times because that motorcycle weighed 900 pounds. It was the top-of-the-line BMW K 1200 LT. I was on a gravel road one day going downhill. I went to use the brakes, the ABS system detected wheel slippage, and I had zero brakes, front and rear no brakes. I had to run into a fence around a salvage yard at the bottom of the hill to stop. I sold that bike two weeks later. When I would use the side stand to get gas or to go into a restaurant, when I would come out and start the bike, it poured white smoke out the exhaust. The dealer said that’s normal. Don’t worry about it. The final drives were blowing up around the world. The dealer said that only happens on overloaded bikes, or bikes that pulled heavy trailers. They turned out to not be true. they were just not as good as the Japanese final drives.. actor EWAN McGregor, and his buddy Charlie Boorman did the television series, long way around on BMW GS motorcycles around 2012 or so. They started in Europe after they went to BMW to learn how to work on the bikes and become familiar with the bikes… those two guys were very mechanically experienced at working on all types of motorcycles. So they left England went across Europe. When they got to Mongolia, they had a brake issue with one of the bikes. While talking on a satellite phone to the mechanic and engineering department. They could not get the brakes to work at all, nothing because of that very individual different ABS system that only BMW has. they ended up getting an aux card or some thing and transporting that broken motorcycle to a train station and shipping it back to England on a train. And they bought a local motorcycle somewhere in Mongolia, a Jawa I think it was a 350 cc and they gave that to the cameraman, and they took the cameraman’s BMW to finish the trip. that was a perfect lesson when that happened in that show. They could not fix it, it was programmed and design so that it had to go back to the dealer so he could plug it into his analyzer computer to do a reset..
talk to BMW owners that are honest and they will tell you what they’re really like..
Watch TH-cam videos of a video maker, his website on TH-cam name is c90adventures- this guy traveled alone across Australia, took a ship to Indonesia, rode across Asia, into Europe, and back to England, where he was from on a Honda 90 motorcycle that was a retired postal worker bike that they used in Australia to deliver mail. in one of his or many of his videos on, TH-cam, when he would have mechanical issues, he would usually have them fixed within a day, and many times he would say “try that on your BMW, GS” highlighting the fact that you can get parts for those Hondas, anywhere in the world quickly. But not so quickly on a BMW…
i’m not telling you to not buy a bmw.. I am suggesting that you do some homework before making your final decision. And if the vehicle you were considering it is a electric powered vehicle, my opinion on that is, you would be better off to go to the nearest casino and bet on the crap game for the shooter to make his point if it is 6 or 8.. It’s a safer bet

Its the ultimate motorcycle. Yes i said it. Let the haters hate. Im serious, you pay the higher price for the beauty of electric benefits. No gas, 1,000 problems deleted that gas engines give you. The ONE and only legit problem if one had to pick one, is the milage. If it had like 50 to 100 more mile range added to it, it be perfection. Now all that being said, the dilemma for most riders is you can get a Kawai 900 retro for same price if not a little cheaper. So thats why the mentality of the MAJORITY, is they rather have all the problems gas engines give, because at least you get way more power and speed and longer trips. So for me if was going to buy a motorcycle over this, it would have to be the Kawasaki Z900RS. But really the BMW wins just because the overall benefits of electric. Now, the other dilemma is wait to see if BMW makes a more longer range model , so patience is an issue for me. Cuz i feel they will make a lomger range model for the next model. But can i wait. ✌️

I agree - I have owned gasoline powered motorcycles for decades. We had an electric scooter for a couple years (A Kumpan) but they went bankrupt and I had an electronics issue and couldn't get it fixed. So I vowed only to buy bigger brands. But electric is SO nice for my use case (short in-town trips). It's way faster and longer range than the vespa model (which does have more classic and beautiful design). I'm just gun-shy about dropping another large amount of money on any electric product. But when they work they are very very enjoyable to ride.
