@NurseSara I’m 33 I’v been getting strep throat for as long as I remember. Over the last few years I had it several times every few months back on antibiotics. My question is my 9 year old son gets strep throat every time from me and more. Why won’t it stop coming back?
I am currently fighting with strep throat and i wanna recommend that eat soft foods only DO NOT eat spicy food try to eat as much soft food as you can thank you and please pray for me!!!

Hope you’re feeling better now!! @@KarzoM once the antibiotics are in your system, you should feel better in 24-48hrs… some people longer, but if no improvement in 5 days, go back to the doctor!! (Urgent Care, if you can, faster than ER & same thing, much cheaper!) First- salt water gargle (do NOT swallow!!) to help dehydrate the postules in your throat; a cup of warm/hot water mixed with 1 tablespoon salt. Next, try drinking hot tea with honey 🍯 to soothe your throat. Feel better soon!!! ❤️🩹💪🏽💯😉
@KarzoM i hope so much it gets easier for you. After antibiotics it took about 6 days to start to feel a little bit better. Fever lasted 4 days, had to go to the er cause i couldn't bring my fever down. I was so desperate to sleep I took everything and anything I could to lessen the pain. It took a full 11 days to get over it. Could only stomach mashed potatoes, applesauce and oatmeal. The only other time that was worse was when I had whooping cough. Flu, covid, colds, nothing compares to strep. 😥 well, in my case. I hope your case is much easier. Feel better
i suspect strep has found me again unfortunately. felt the scratchy throat through my dreams last night, was sore all day today, and now i’m very very warm and weak. wish me luck people
I have had so many throat/sinus infections, but nothing has compared to the horror that strep has been for me so far - such intense and constant pain in my throat and ears and so much difficulty and pain swallowing my own saliva/drinking/eating. The constant fluctuations between cold chills and feeling like I’m burning up, and even had a hallucination last night - I feel crazy because this is so much worse than all the other infections I’ve had and both times I’ve had Covid - hopefully the antibiotics get rid of this fast
I am having these same symptoms. It’s been miserable for 5 days now. I just assumed it was flu with all the body aches but the sore throat got worse and worse. I finally was able to talk to doctor last night and she said it was strep and got me started on antibiotics. No sleep again last night, took second dose of antibiotics this morning. I’m hoping they really start helping soon. I don’t want to have to cancel Christmas with my adult kiddos. 😫
@@vanessap8717 You swish it around in your mouth for about 10-15 minutes and spit it out into a trash can. Don't spit it out in the toilet or sink b/c it will reharden and clog the pipes. :) Good Luck!
@@user-ln2uy2hw2t almost 2 weeks to fully recover had enough rest,mix choped garlic and onions 1table spoon take at least 2x a day really help me..plus turmeric with lemon and honey..it boost your immunity and it can be also natural antibiotics..i only take paracetamol for fever..hope it helps for your healing..
ANOTHER TIP : gargling with hydrogen peroxide can also soothe the throat. it may feel foamy and uncomfortable but it helps with in a day or 2. its also good to do daily!
Got it 2 days ago while on vacation. Miserable. Started Augmentin yesterday and today was rough but hoping for a better tomorrow. Just trying to eat soup tonight brought tears to my eyes. This is miserable!
Don't feel discouraged. Strep is pretty common. I didn't have a fever, though. It took me only 48 hours to be okay. I still have a cough here and there, but my doctor says sometimes it's a habit. And I believe it is. I would think too much about it and would just cough here and there. But when I don't think about it, I won't cough. But do be safe and make sure you wear a mask.

I’ve had strept throat for nearly 2 years. I first had a fever & severe pain throughout my body and in my throat area (I couldn’t even swallow my own saliva). I had 4 cultures done, each time different; Staphylococcus Albus, Streptococcus B Hemolytic, Moraxella Catarrhalis & Streptococcus Virididans. I’ve tried 6-7 different antibiotics without positive results. My throat is red & it feels dry and my toungue has a white layer. It really sucks having this!

I tried around 10 different types of antibiotics & none worked for me. The infection became very resistant to antibiotics, & started to affect my esophagus and other parts of my body. I no longer have a dry throat, but my tonsils still feel a bit swollen.

Going on 5 days now with this. This is the worst I’ve ever felt in my life. I have blisters and ulcers all over my mouth from the tongue to gums and I can’t eat anything. Wish no one has experience with this

Dont take a lot of medicine since I think they wont work and also they will damage other parts of your body 3. Drink warm fluids 4. Rest 5. Try home remedies ( gargle warm water+ salt / drink warm water regularly / try other remedies, too. ) These are from my own experience as I am having a sore throaght right now. Please , I want to get rid of this sore throaght for ever in mg life. Do you have any remedies any kind of it even if i need to be operated. I’m trying gargling with betadine iodine. The only thing that helped in the past was not taking antibiotics, it went away and didn’t have it again for like 15 years, I had it six times in one year when I was doing antibiotics. So I’m gonna suffer through it again and hope my body kills it again. This is my experience.

I just realised I got strep throat and not a common sore throat. I’ve been suffering for five days already and I haven’t seen the doctor yet since I have to get on a plane in a few hours. I have a fever and a strep throat, I don’t think there’s a pharmacy near by, but I’ve got some meds like lysozyme and ibuprofen. I’ve been taking throat lozenges and panadol only, before watching this video. Should I take the lysozyme and ibuprofen as well?
How many days does it usually takes to cure strep throat without antibiotics? I'm in day 5 and I feel much better than before but I'm still worried that maybe I treated it wrong and might 'cause more damage
@@NurseSarahJeffries I did get a fever around 37.9 C°. I treated it by eating soup, hot water and drinking ginger tea. Earlier I also tried gargling with salt water but it doesn't seem to work. That's about it. Right now, I can eat and drink a lot better but there's still a little bit of pain in my throat left that I hope will disappear the next day

Isn’t it possible to just become a carrier of strep throat so the only way to really get over it is by taking antibiotics?

Gargling with hydrogen peroxide and taking raw unfiltered coconut oil is a natural antibacterial and antiviral.

I tried everything but it still stings to drink water even they put me on antibiotics for 10 days with a pill that I have to take 3 times a day 😢

I tried Oregano 🌿 Oil but temporarily relieves the symptoms
Idk if it’s allergies but I feel weak and my throat is burning
Add a tiny bit of Robitussin to the salt water then gargle trust me it helps calm an numb the feeling at least to me it does

taken all antibiotics and painkillers but it is not getting better. now the doctor has prescribed me prednisolone for inflammation.

I have it now and the doctor didn’t give me antibiotics I don’t know why. I am praying I don’t give it my kids.
Himalayan salt with warm water works well.

I have this now I was fine on my bday 3/25 literally 3 days later a sore throat came on quickly feels like I swallowed razors and no matter how much water I drink my throat is still dry what’s scary is by the time I went to urgent care I already had a high fever my heart rate was up I was going septic from strep throat had to be rushed to the er and get antibiotics intravenously to keep me from dying I don’t wish this on no one 😢 I never had strep before and I think I caught it from my bf since he’s asymptomatic smh 🤦🏽♀️

I just realised I got strep throat and not a common sore throat. I’ve been suffering for five days already and I haven’t seen the doctor yet since I have to get on a plane in a few hours. I have a fever and a strep throat, I don’t think there’s a pharmacy near by, but I’ve got some meds like lysozyme and ibuprofen. I’ve been taking throat lozenges and panadol only, before watching this video. Should I take the lysozyme and ibuprofen as well?

How did you treat it? Give your body time, it plenty rest, stay hydrated. Keep an eye on your temperature to make sure you don’t have a fever

@@NurseSarahJeffries I did get a fever around 37.9 C°. I treated it by eating soup, hot water and drinking ginger tea. Earlier I also tried gargling with salt water but it doesn't seem to work. That's about it. Right now, I can eat and drink a lot better but there's still a little bit of pain in my throat left that I hope will disappear the next day

i put apple cider vinegar in my throat and then gargle it then feel yourself chocking then spit out the bacteria 🦠 you can see it really helps
