That car sounds awesome Mike. I've always adjusted the carborator on Mopar 2 a a half turns out just like you did and have always had good luck with that. My step dad taught me a lot about Mopar products. If my step dad was still alive he would love watching you work. You really know your way around a car.

I suggest at least 2 re-torques on the manifold.
That’s thick aluminum, and it shifts around a bit to final tightness, particularly after a little run time!
      Nice vid Mike!

The Old Fury is looking Great, I like the two part series it is a lot easer to fit two 30-40 min videos into my day than one over an hour. How is this channel not a 300+ subscribers?

  • @damienfaust2108

I just binged the whole series on this one... It's kinda the exactly the plans I have for a future build... And to boot you used a few of the things I wanted to try myself... now that I know it worked I have no worries myself... I had to laugh at a lot of your learning experiences regarding the upholstery and dash but you tried and learned and kept going... That's what builds experience and makes you a better builder... But OMG the bed liner looks and works awesome... Can't wait to see it get finished... Watching and waiting with anticipation!!! much love to you and Mrs. Beard!

I hope that you have a great evening working on your Plymouth Fury! Mike I will have to say that you did pretty good for the price and the way you have went about fixing all the stuff like the roof and the lights, ball joint, etc. We enjoy watching your videos and keep up the great work. It helps me when the chips are down and I hope to get some work done on my vehicles and get at least one going this summer. Well we are going to kick back, eat, and enjoy your video! God bless and enjoy your evening!

good times - nice to hear it healthy. Sure, the major power steering leak is a bummer, but in the end it will be perfect. That rad certainly needs a re-core or replacement, it's a sad unit. Keep marching forward, and it'll be on the road before you know it. I hope the '59 eventually finds it's way back together, I really like that thing.

Love this project! How about testing the performance and fuel mileage for a month or so, then put a purple camshaft in from Mopar. Honest! after the improvements of Manifold and duals the cam will pay for itself in fuel milage and the fun factor. My 360 was a pig worst than the 383. I have watched you for years now and you are doing great.Keep helping your daughter and son too. Thank you Bob

When I bought My 72 fury years ago, I got it for $350 bucks because the Garage the previous owner purchased it from forgot to retorque the intake once it reached running temperature, so don't forget to check that once you are done...I rechecked mine a week later as well, and found a couple loose, after that, it was good to go.

    I had a 74 Camaro when I was 16 that came factory with a 350 , 2 barrel..
It sucked for power & it got horrible mpg.
I had an older cousin that was great with motors & cars in general..
So we swapped out the intake & put a 4 barrel Holly on it...
Chk'd the rear dif & this thing had 4:10 gears..
    I put a rear dif with 3:42 gears .
    Immediately I loved this car...
I went from 10 mpg to 16 & it would bury the needle ..
    Then I bought a 76 Ford Cobra Mustang ..
Just a 302 motor with automatic.., but it was lame ...
By now I had more skills , I thought !
So I pulled the motor & trans , bought a donor car with a 4 speed stick..
I also changed the intake to accomodate a 4 barrel ,and it got a semi aggressive cam..
Changing to stick shift meant my cousin had to pitch in...
More work than I thought , but the donor supplied most of the parts ..
    Made a massive difference ..
I know most people avoided smog pump cars from the 70's , but you could get around all that ...
What you could'nt get around were the low compression engines .
But , I squeezed a few more h.p. out of every car I owned back then...

Hi there, i must say i am loving the series on this plymouth, and those pipes sound insane, the gasket cut outs on the rocker covers can be a real blessing, the old 1600cc ford sohc in the cortina's here in the uk had one of the longest cork gaskets you ever did see, the only hope to get them in without trapping them was a smear or gasket sealant used as glue and those cuts, even then they could be a nightmare, Also whats going on with darleen ?, the last we saw your daughter was finishing up the engine and it was looking really sharp, cant wait to see it running

It think the factory radio (flood light lit, like the dash... very unique) or the AM FM or AM FM stereo radio would be great. I had the 5 speaker version on my Fury. It sounded great. The dash is curved, so , while a single din radio would fit the factory opening , it would not be curved. The coolest would be to have the 5 Speaker AM/FM stereo with the pigtail and have it connected to the optional floor mounted cassette.
Check to see if you have the two side speaker openings in the dash.
