    I think this is a great product. I have used it to cycle an emergency tank and now I run a extra sponge filter in as many of my tanks as possible and by Fritz7 by the gallon. I like to have it on hand for so Many purposes. 1 emergency cycles 2 water change 3. I use when medicating a tank to try and help keep the good bacteria around. Thanks for the video

    Fritz 7 really works great! I had to set up a few emergency totes for a tank that exploded it's back panel off, I used that stuff to help alleviate the load of having 210 gallon's worth of fish in a 75 gallon tote. Fritz 7, along with the original tank's filtration, and reduced feedings, helped all my fish survive! I have since added Fritz 7 as one of the products I constantly have in my spare supplies closet for my fish room.

  • @cindywood2089

    Someone said that since it's live bacteria it needs to eat something like ammonia and if not it will not work. They also said that once the bottles open it only lasts for 7 to 10 days. The other products that I have seen supposedly aren't live bacteria. So basically what he said was Wait till you have pneumonia by putting fish food in then put the Fritzzyme 7 in which will turn the ammonia into nitrite and then the nitrite in to nitrate.

    I have two 2.5 gallon tanks with a betta in each one. I did something similar to you where I just threw the fish in without cycling the water. I added some of that helpful bacteria and it’s helped them live. I’m now planning on setting up a ten gallon with sponge filters instead of HOB’s. So I’m going to try Fritz 7 in it without fish this time. Hope it works.

    This is really good information :) I have used a similar product and it worked well. I also cycled with plants by just adding fertilizer and root tabs and I waited 6 weeks before adding fish. In another tank I squeezed a dirty media sponge from another tank in the water and added a new sponge filter and added fish the next day. That way is sort of like adding a cycled sponge filter.

    Great video! I just got my son a 20 gallon tank today and we are setting it up tomorrow. I bought the Fitzs 700 Turbo start...slightly different than the bottle you are showing in this video. The fish store told me to add half the of the 1 oz bottle to the tank then wait a day or two and add 2 Zebra Danios because they are very hardy and can live through the cycling process. Do you agree with waiting a few days to add the fish after using the Fitzs or should I add the fish right away? My understanding is that the bacteria needs the ammonia to start the cycling process. If I wait a few days to add fish will the fitzs still work? Also, I have a HOB filter. Is that ok? Thank you!

    I recently did fishless cycling in new setup, seeding it with Dr Tim's One & Only and his ammonium chloride. Eco Complete substrate and undergravel filter. Tested with API Master test kit. Now that you have added the fritz zyme you will need to get something in to feed the bacteria. You can add ammonia in, piece of shrimp, or even add a few small fish. The bacteria will eat the ammonia the fish produce and keep them safe. I have done it that route numerous times with success.

    Did you ever do any more videos on cycling? I am brand new, had no idea about cycling, and have a fish in a holding tub while I get this situated. This video helped my son and I understand why we need to cycle. It would be helpful to understand the whole process. I’m not exactly sure what I need to do past the 1- add water, plants, etc 2- add sponge filter 3- add dechlorinate 4- add the Fritz 7 5- add ammonia drops until you see your nitrites go up… what do you do next?

    • @WeldonTanks
      @WeldonTanks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have added the Fritz 7 you are good to add fish. In my opinion adding ammonia drops or what they call a fish less cycle is going to be more harmful than beneficial. It is confusing and I feel burns more people out of the hobby. By adding in a small amount of fish you are giving a live source for the bacteria to feed off of versus trying to dose the correct amount of ammonia. Feed light the first week the fish are in the tank and let the plants do their job of consuming waste and you will have a great start.

    • @WeldonTanks
      @WeldonTanks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can set your tank up and use this product and immediately add your fish. The waste from the fish will feed the bacteria and help them colonize.
      Now, what is the tank size? What are your goals for the tank? Live plants? What type of filtration?
      In my opinion the goals for a cycle is that the tank bacteria can consume the waste from your fish and the food that goes in. As you test you do not want to detect ammonia or nitrite. You do want to see some nitrate, that shows the bacteria is doing it’s job.

      The Fritz zyme 7 is a live bacteria that needs to be fed. You are most likely getting those 0 readings because there is nothing for the bacteria to consume. If you want to keep going the route that you are add a small amount of fish food each day or a piece of frozen shrimp for more long term food. As those decompose and break down the bacteria will feed off the ammonia and start to process through the cycle.

      Thaks for the information, yeah I started throwing little bit of flakes each day 3 days ago in the aquarium. so does that mean I'm bearly starting the cycle again you do ypu think?

    • @WeldonTanks
      @WeldonTanks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think your cycle has been continuously going. I know it is hard to add fish when you don’t see the results on paper you want. Give it another few days and see if you can get results on the test kits. Also look for signs of life such as algae in the tank, that means something good is progressing.

      Add your plants and then add the bacteria. Will not harm the plants at all.

      It is best to follow dosing recommendations. Adding entire bottle will not hurt anything.

      @@WeldonTanks Its best to NOT add plants during the nitrification process since plants consume some nitrite & Ammonia thus taking away food from the beneficial bacteria forming

    • @WeldonTanks
      @WeldonTanks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree that they will consume some of the nutrients but that is also the point of adding plants. Working in tandem with beneficial bacteria the plants will help the nitrification cycle in my opinion and when live stock is added continue to make a safe eco system.

    Don't put fish in it before you cycle it or they will die unless you have a lot of media from a very cycled tank! OTHERWISE WAIT UNTIL IT CYCLES BEFORE ADDING FISH!!!!! I have tried every product in the USA to exact guidelines. You will lose fish if you DONOT!

    • @thebrattttt
      @thebrattttt 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      your cute, No, there is more involved than just pouring the bottle in the tank. What about explaining that after you do so, your suppose to get the Ammonia to spike? And after that explain that your nitrites will spike because the bacteria will eat up the Ammonia which will then produce Nitrites ? And another type of bacteria will eat up the Nitrites which will then Produce Nitrates. and after you get rid of the Ammonia and, the nitrites, and it goes to Nitrates, test if your tank is completely cycled,by you spike the Ammonia again to make sure the bacteria is doing its job, every day the bacteria will eliminate some of the Ammonia and then the bacteria will spike the nitrites, and bacteria will again eliminate the nitrites, and then your left with nitrates, which is not toxic to your fish but want the number of nitrates as low as possible, which water changes will help that
