    Good job on this great product. Measuring nitrates and ammonia would have been great but tou showed well what you were actually targeting in this test. Thanks for making this 🐠

    Really nice demonstration of beneficial bacteria's effectiveness. Good work!

    Thank you, man. You were the only resource I could find on the normal color of the liquid. I poured it into my measuring cup and wasn’t sure if a light pink was ok. I didn’t want to wake up to dead fish. You earned a subscribe. Lol

    Ok big question. I have a 36 gal Bow Front started it with API quick Start still 10 days I have no Ammonia, nitrites or nitrates PH is perfect and temp is 78.2 and is stocked with 22 fish. I am using a Fluval 207 for filtering. My local aquarium said dose tank with quick start every 3 days to increase nitrates, oh by tank is crystal clear also. After seeing this product I decided instead of API Quick Start I would use this product. What is your thinking on this.

    How many times do I add Fritz 7? I have a 20 gallon, do I add 8oz every day?

    Do aquatic plants need the bacteria to convert ammonia eventually to nitrate? Also, does the system still cycle the same with no air bubbler or filter to create flow? Until I can set up a tank, I was wondering about growing a plant or 2 in a large vase, no tech.

      Plants benefit from the nitrogen cycle in that they will consume the nitrates produced. The system will still cycle with no air provided there’s surface area for bacteria to grow. In the rams horn tank the gravel bed is the surface area. Granted a filter (hob, sponge etc) would be way more efficient at growing bacteria as it’s constantly cycling water through it. You could put plants in a vase with no tech but you still need to feed the plants. I’d recommend using something like 614 Fert to accomplish that.

    Did you apply the product between days or just the first day?

    I didn't hear your ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate levels mentioned anywhere, did I miss it? Without those measurements there's no way to be certain what's going on. If you have those measurements could you post them as that would be very helpful, thanks.

      Anthony Serianni I unfortunately didn’t even think to take readings as I merely intended this as a visual demonstration. I’ll revisit this as the numbers would be a great addition to the info! Thanks for the idea

    Thank you . I'm starting a 150 gallon tank no fish empty tank with substrate . No water in my fx6 filter or Tidal 110 . Help please . Any suggestions for setting it up ? Please do more product evaluations . I am just a beginner . The setup was a good buy I couldn't turn it down .

      Well first step, get water in the tank. Get something to produce ammonia to get the nitrogen cycle started. You could do this with some small fish or even snails. Snails will do the work but will take a long time to produce enough waste. You could always pick up some feeder fish for cheap (rosey reds) and let them start the cycle. Or figure out what fish you want to end up with and start with just a couple. You will need to get a water test kit to keep an eye on the cycle (reading ammonia, nitrite and nitrate). Fritz 7 will help boost the start of the cycle when adding fish.

    Should this be added if I'm already seeing a bacterial bloom?

    • @SCAquatics
      @SCAquatics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can add it to help the bloom work through what it’s doing. The bloom is a lack of bacteria so fritz 7 would help that process speed up

    Thank you so much for this video!! I will admit that unfortunately I havent taken the best care of my fish but have recently really been trying to get my shit together and that involves taking better care of my pets (1 dog and 2 fish). I never really cared to learn about the nitrogen cycle and even though I had a filter and air pump my water always got cloudy and gross. Will definitely be buying this now!

      TXGA VM keeping fish as a kid I never knew about the nitrogen cycle either. Learning improves everyone

      Same here I knew about it but didn’t care too much about the nitrogen cycle now wil my new I am currently cycling for 7 days now using seachem stability and Tim’s ammonia . Currently having nitrite spike but if all goes well ammonia will go down to 0, nitrite to 0, and nitrates little to none with water change. Any tips?

    This hobby confuses the hell out of me! Using bacteria for a bacteria bloom. My heads been spinning for the 16 months I’ve been into it

    • @SCAquatics
      @SCAquatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bacteria bloom is trying to make more bacteria to eat ammonia. Adding more bacteria (fritz 7) speeds that process up. Adding bacteria to get rid of the bloom doesn’t “get rid of the bloom” you’re just speeding the process up.
