Maria Doyle Kennedy did an amazing job as Catherine of Aragon. She had me crying all through the series. Even after the character died, every time someone mentioned her name i would weep. This is beautiful, the real Catherine really deserved better. As far as I know Henry was just a big a-whole, he didn't deserve the love of any of those women.

Catherine of Aragon truly was one of England’s greatest Queens. Her strength and dignity was unmatched. Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn caused her so much grief and sorrow, yet she never stopped loving him. May she always RIP.
You’ve done an amazing job in showing Catherine’s strength of character. I love that, in a strange way, her composure through her years of suffering still inspires people to this day. If only she could see what a deep impact she had on people, even hundreds of years later.
Of all queens she is on of my favorites, the way Henry treated her and what he did to her. 💔 she deserved better. The only Queen.

Ive just finished season 1&2 of The Tudors for the first time. Loved the last episode of season 2
I saw an interview 2 days ago of Henry Cavill talking about all is love/nude scenes he had to do in Toudors. I was like SOLD! I wasn't a fan of the show and never watched. Well those days are over. Primarily because of Queen Catherine's brilliantly crafted storyline and so well acted.
I keep watching because I wanted justice for her and her daughter.
I'm a card caring member of The First Wives Club! Not sure how close to history her story is in the show but I loved her and hated her plight! She's one of the few women on the show who truly deserved better! The daughter went through hell as well. If not for women caring the man's seed, letting it grow inside of you for 9mon, and giving painful birth for hours sometimes days! No human race. Yet women were treated like property, livestock or prostitutes.
If I'd lived during those times I'd be dead before opening credits started rolling! Equal rights and indoor plumbing please! Also, a good doctor or OB/GYN would've been helpful back then, great show.

The actual person Catherine and this beautiful actress Maria have strength within them. Maria gave that queenly aura and the vibe that she came from two powerful monarchs.
Catherine was a strong lady she just married a man who was weak and did not know how to properly love such a woman.
Catherine of Aragon was one of the best queens of England. Every time I saw a scene with her in the Tudors, I would always get pissed at Henry because he treated her like trash. Honestly she and Mary did not deserve to go through the s**t Henry put them through. Sure Anne was at fault for sedusing the King but she was manipulated by her family because of their ambition. Not to mention that Anne slowly got into the very same situation as Catherine did.
I feel terrible about both queens. Both of them had to leave this world without the right to say goodbye to their daughters. Henry is a bastard, who put a lot of people through hell and did not deserve the love his wifes gave him. They deserved better. ALL his wifes deserved better.
Another thing about the Tudors about Catherine and Mary: Damn! They basically predicted some of the wifes fates.
There was this episode where Catherine said to Anne : "He will get tired of you" and in season four Mary said the exact same thing to K Howard. And in the end Henry indeed got tired of them and got their heads chopped off.
so sad , how much this queen humiliated and suffered , being alone and abodandt , could not see her daughter before she died.
My husband loved Anne Boleyn...until we bought the entire series and watched it from the beginning. Fair to say he hates Anne after seeing everything Catherine went through...such a strong beautiful woman
Helen Davis I have to disagree. I absolutely love Jane and despise Anne. I’m only speaking from the series Anne was conniving along with her father and uncle for power; a main reason she withheld sex. Whereas Jane simply yielded her virginity due to her beliefs.
Radtherapy Jane did basically the same thing, but Jane was one reason why Anne had to die. That doesn’t mean Anne gets a free pass, she was very cruel to both Katherine and Mary, but she didn’t deserved death. I love both Katherine and Anne, I would say the were both very powerful woman and the only ones who said no to Herny. Without herny the maybe would be friends
Lina Weiß agree to disagree. Anne caused her own downfall due to her temper, flirtatious ways and failure to produce a son. Again I’m going off the show not real history. He cheated on her numerous times with various women and lost the respect of King Francis who would not allow his son to marry Elizabeth . Henry was done with Anne before Jane came into the picture...”be lucky you have your bed madam because I would not give it to you again”-Henry.
Radtherapy Well I meant the true Anne and the true Katherine and I just liked them both in real history and as in the show

She neve broke the bond between Arthur and Henry. Henry was still a child when Arthur and Katherine married, Katherine had to wait in England for something to happen to her and seven years after Arthur's dead Henry decided to marry Katherine. She never should have married a younger man. She learned the hard way.
She didn't have a choice. She was promised to Henry's brother Arthur in return for a $1 million dollar dowry. However, when Arthur died, his family didn't want to lose the money (even though it was never fully paid) so they arranged a marriage to Henry.
