This case is so sad. Nicole's grandparents should have filed for custody on the grounds of abandonment. Her father took off for months and left Nicole with her grandparents that would have given them the right to get guardianship of her.
That's what would have happened in a just world, but a parent's rights is very strong, and they were even stronger back then. It's such a sad, sad case...
Yeah I think it takes much longer before they can file for abandonment. All he would have had to say was he was grieving and just needed a few months to do so, people would have took his side saying he had been through enough. They probably tried really hard to keep her and did what they could.
@@Kari.F. your right, especially back then. I've seen cases of them constantly giving abused kids back to the parents in the 70s and 80s, they could basically do anything and at the end of the day they were still the parents.

@@adelinav123 not really. And if abusive or neglectful parents don’t take the child to a doctor, there is no one to report anything to the authorities. Even once a kid starts school, all a parent has to say is the kid is living in another state with family or is being homeschooled or is going to a private school….no one follows up with it. Social worker only get involved if there is reported neglect or abuse. It is the same with elderly people. Unless someone reports their death or a body is collected by a funeral home or authorities, someone can collect their checks or bank accounts as most are direct deposit for years and it would never be questioned. This is what happened here, the child was a minor, so an adult would be in charge of the bank account that’s why they were able to cash the checks that long. If a child is born in the hospital, now they can issue the social security number at birth, BUT only if the parent requests it. I personally did not get mine until I was 15. But it’s not used to track anything for a child except if they claimed on a tax return…but still no one actually sees the child for that to happen. And what about the 10 to 30% of births that happen outside of hospital.
It can be a terrifying thought. But what's the answer? In a free society, people can't pop up and track the movements of a family. I never thought of it because when I had my family early on, we travelled around America with my husband, as he was in the Army. We should have the ability to mandate once yearly physical exams to ensure that they're growing properly and seem to be overall healthy. That's the least we should be doing, I think.
@@GenXfrom75 my personal opinion is that children should be issued a ssn at birth regardless of the parents wishes ( as the child will need it anyway during their lifetime ). I also think that children under the age of 6 should be kept on a national database and it be legally required that the child see a dr every six months until they are school age. That database would have the child’s medical history no matter what state they are in. Also I think that if the visits aren’t fulfilled, no one can claim all the tax benefits for that child. That’s something else these people probably did was claim her as a dependent so there was also tax fraud.
They claimed the social security benefits for Nikole for the years she was entitled to it - ie. until she was eighteen. I figure that was reason enough for them to take her. Disgusting. 😥😥
Even without the social security checks they would of been able to get money through cash assistance, food stamps, housing assistance and at least 6 thousand a year earned income tax return for one child. Even if a parents income is only 5 thousand a year the earned income tax credit and child tax credit gives parents at least 6 thousand a year for claiming one child. Two children equal about 10 thousand a year tax return their parents get until the children either graduate highschool or until the children are 22 if they continue to stay in school and go to college
Cases like this are heartbreaking, imagine the life she would’ve had if she stayed with her grandparents. Grans and Pops are really out there saving lives
Back in those days, it was VERY easy to sell a child to someone. I think that is probably what they did. Many kids were sold to loving couples who could not afford adoption costs, so we can only hope that was the case for Nikole, and not sold into trafficking. He would have faced jail time for selling his child, so it could be he did that.
But the statute of limitations would mean that he could no longer be charged for selling her if he did. As Bella said, the only reason he would still be able to be charged and go to jail for would be murder as murder is the only exception for the statute of limitations. So since Barbara said he'd have to go to jail, that would mean he committed murder and could still be charged for it.

@@kimmiegirl810 I’m not sure that your situation has much in common with this case. You said your child receives SSI because of disability, which the SSA has been periodically (usually every couple of years) confirming for recipients of all ages. But Nikole received benefits because her mother died before she turned 18, not due to disability, and since her reason for receiving benefits based on her mother’s death only needed to be verified once, I doubt the SSA would waste time checking up on Nikole herself.
I feel they picked her up from the grandparents to either sell her or to kill her to receive the payments . So very sad the grandparents lost their child and grandchild . They should of taken him to court to get full custody .
I wish you had updated playlists in the right order, it would increase your watch times and make it easier for people to watch you more regularly as people would throw on the playlist to catch up with your recent videos and then leave it on loop so it goes through them all again from the beginning like I do with a lot of true crime youtubers while I do other stuff. They need to be in the correct, chronological order though, the ones you have now are backwards and its nice to not have to stop what I am doing three times to skip forward, then back, then forward again so they make sense or have you talk about the "previous case" when it I've not seen it yet.
Him saying he needed to get into contact with Nikcole makes me think maybe they sent her somewhere and they killed themselves because they couldn’t get in contact with her for some reason or found out she was dead and thought they would be to blame for their deaths. Also they don’t sound like very smart people they might not have knowledge on the statute of limitations so they could think he would still go to jail for any number of things.
Well, murder has no statue of limitations. So, if he knew he killed her, then he knew he was fucked if he got caught. I'm only about 1/2 thru the video, but definitely sounds like she was sent somewhere or dead from the time she left her grandparents.
Did anyone use facial recognition software to see if Nikole ended up in a different life? Maybe they abandoned her on the side of the road somewhere? I also think it’s pretty clear that the motive behind Nikole’s disappearance would have been to collect Nikole’s social security checks.
I think they picked her up because of her social security checks and quickly realized how difficult it can be caring for such a young child and killed her. They probably waited 20 years for that knock on the door.
It’s a very sad situation and it’s sad we will never ever know what actually happened to her, but at least they have some sort of answers rather than just always wondering where she is or not looking for her because she had her own life or waiting for her to reach out to them
My theory is that Jarrett knew Nikole was getting social security checks and that was the reason he and Barbara wanted her in the first place. Maybe they never even planned on raising her.
I just wanna say that I don’t think I’ve ever actually ✨watched✨ one of these videos, but I always have them playing when I’m cleaning, exercising, painting, etc… so doesn’t matter to me what you have on the screen lmao
I think there are a few possibilities :c 1) At some point while Jerrad and Barbara were high in the car, they got annoyed by something that Nikole was doing in the back seat and simply dumped her off somewhere without a thought 2) They sold her 3) They kept her for a period of time for very dark, moneymaking purposes. If she did die under their care, I think it was due to something going wrong in this scenario I don't think these people are smart enough to understand or keep track of the statute of limitations for various crimes, so I don't think they necessarily murdered her to get the reaction of a murder-suicide in the end
Sadly with Nikole being under 3 years old when Jared took her out of the Klingles' custody their theory that she would come find them when she was older was always doomed to fail, whilst the brain is capable of retaining most memories for upto 7 years unfortunately most people suffer from what child physiatrists call infantile dementia. Id is the inability to remember anything that happened within the first three years of life, so unless Nikole turned 3 whilst in her grandparents care there's no way she'd remember them. I'm not sure how it works in the U.S but here in the UK local authorities (city/town or county education department) contact parents at least a year prior to a child starting school to ask which local schools they'd like their child to go to, the fact that Peggy Bezzie (the private investigator) couldn't find Nikole in Las Vegas doesn't mean that she couldn't have been 'enrolled' somewhere else. There is around 2,008 miles between Dearborn and Las Vegas, many nice towns to settle down for awhile and then move on from. Personally I think that Jared and Barbara killed Nikole at some point prior to her 5th birthday
There is no program like this is America that I am aware of. After receiving our SSN at birth we are basically off the radar until we are registered for school. Also, America uses zipcodes to assign schools so there is no reason to reach out to survey parents on ideal schools. Children are supposed to be enrolled no later than age 7 for school but I am unsure of how this is enforced besides a family member or friend calling Child Services out of good merit.
The only way a child would be checked on prior to school age is if they had been hotlined or in the foster system. No established doctor means no calls for appointment reminders. No daycare means no attendance checks. Ect.
I don’t think Nikole would’ve needed to remember her grandparents in order to want to have some level of contact with them. I think she would have been motivated to contact them herself simply in order to learn more about her mother … and I suspect the grandparents were thinking the same thing.
Hey cutie, I love the way you deliver your stories and love your darling personality. Im old enough to be your gramma and love your thoughts. This little girl is indeed dead. So tragic and he should have just left her alone...
My thought from the beginning is that they picked her up from her grandparents in order to sell her. They were probably broke and needed money to start a life in Vegas. If they did an illegal adoption, there wouldn’t be paperwork. So it would look like she just vanished! They might have thought- at the time- that it wasn’t immoral since they gave Nikole to a couple who wanted kids. It might have seemed like a win-win, especially since they got her social security checks. But maybe they felt guilty for having taken Nikole away from her real family in the end. Selling a child is illegal, so they probably thought they were in serious trouble. Also, law enforcement can bluff and make it seem like you’re in worse trouble than you are. We don’t know what they were told- but it could have scared them into taking “drastic measures.” Maybe Barbara genuinely felt guilty in the end, hence the letter.
They needed the money so they used her after her murder because they didn’t want to deal with her. I also thought trafficking might have been involved. They would’ve gotten money that way too but I’d think there might be SOME kind of trace. Such a heartbreaking story; my heart hurts for Nikole.
I believe he didn't live Nickole with her grandparents because he knew she would be getting a check because her mom had pass. Happy Holidays everyone!! I pray your holidays are filled with lots of love, laughter, and tons of hug and kisses
Thank you for the video, Bella! Merry Christmas! 🎄☃️ It does sound like Nicole is dead, and at her father's hands, since Barbara indicated he'd go to jail and she'd have to live without him. Such a sad case of fraud, for collecting money meant for Nicole, and death, of everyone involved.
I believe that they stayed away from family members so no one would know this poor little innocent angel had met with foul play and they were collecting her monthly state benefits. They never cared about his daughter or were remorseful for her disappearance, otherwise they would have written it on the letter they sent his family.
I do think that they killed her. I just think it's so weird that in the suicide note they didn't mention anything. Usely in suicide notes they confess to everything just to put themselves at peace and also for everyone else too.

I believe they were in it for the SSI checks and not to be parents. They'd never have gotten those checks if he didn't take possession of his child and then they killed Nikole because that's all they wanted. I also believe they suffered from poor health at the hands of Karma..... Good riddance! RIP Nikole - a life taken too soon ❤️🙏

Murdering someone is not making 'mistakes' in the youth. Her Suicide Letter was laughable
I am obsessed with her videos 😭 just finished all the solve cases and half way through the mystery Mondays.
He wanted Nikole’s check every month which is why he came and got her . People are so disgusting. Poor baby girl
Nikole looks like one of the most sweetest beautiful we girls 😣 this case is absolutely heartbreaking ❤️🩹
happy holidays bella!!!!! beyond excited to see this case . you always do so well on ur videos . keep it up cutie!!!!
Yaaay!!! Been having Bella withdrawals! Hope everyone is having a lovely holiday season if you celebrate, and a kickass week if you don’t!
happy hols, Bella. thank you for the upload as I listen while I'm at work.
I feel they picked her up from the grandparents to either sell her or to kill her to receive the payments . So very sad the grandparents lost their child and grandchild . They should of taken him to court to get full custody .
This case is so sad. Poor little Nikole
Wow spoiling us so shortly before Xmas? Thank you, Bella!
heheh 4 more to come over the next 4 days!
@@bellafiori oh my god im ded.. thank uu so muuch ♥️♥️♥️
@@bellafiori YESSS I’m so glad!!! I’ve been waiting for this video because your literally the only person that has good storytelling
I pressed play on this video so fast! 😍 love it when you upload, I hope you have an incredible Christmas ❤️
I think they picked her up because of her social security checks and quickly realized how difficult it can be caring for such a young child and killed her. They probably waited 20 years for that knock on the door.
i’m so glad someone is covering this case! i’ve been fascinated with it for years.
Merry Christmas Bella thankyou for the constant effort you put into making these detailed videos for so many years 💜
I've never heard of this case. Thanks so much for sharing it!!!
It’s a very sad situation and it’s sad we will never ever know what actually happened to her, but at least they have some sort of answers rather than just always wondering where she is or not looking for her because she had her own life or waiting for her to reach out to them
We have missed you! Thanks for posting. Love you 😍!
My theory is that Jarrett knew Nikole was getting social security checks and that was the reason he and Barbara wanted her in the first place. Maybe they never even planned on raising her.
Thank you for posting!!! Been thinking about it all week like when is she going to post haha ☺️
2:36 I had to go back and listen again to make sure I heard Dearborn mi. Wild. Not ready for this one
Happy holidays!! Thank you for all that you do!!! 💕
Cool light effects Bella! Dig ya mate, Merry Christmas and thanks for the upload ❤
I just wanna say that I don’t think I’ve ever actually ✨watched✨ one of these videos, but I always have them playing when I’m cleaning, exercising, painting, etc… so doesn’t matter to me what you have on the screen lmao
Merry Christmas Bella and Bella fans. 🎁🎅🎄
Merry Christmas to you too! 💖
Merry Xmas Bella. Happy Holidays, Everyone!! Be safe out there.
Merry Christmas Beautiful Bella. Love your channel. Thank you
I think there are a few possibilities :c
1) At some point while Jerrad and Barbara were high in the car, they got annoyed by something that Nikole was doing in the back seat and simply dumped her off somewhere without a thought
2) They sold her
3) They kept her for a period of time for very dark, moneymaking purposes. If she did die under their care, I think it was due to something going wrong in this scenario
I don't think these people are smart enough to understand or keep track of the statute of limitations for various crimes, so I don't think they necessarily murdered her to get the reaction of a murder-suicide in the end
Merry Christmas!!! It makes my day everytime I get a notification for your new uploads...your the best
Happy holidays Bella!! Thank you
I’ve been watching you for years now!! So much love for you and your videos, have a lovely Christmas Bella xx
Though the same thing..
I also immediately thought of trafficking. So sad.
Thank You, Bella! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Everyone!🙋🎄🎀🎁🎄🎊🥂🍾🎉🎈
Merry Christmas everyone. Thank you for your videos Bella. Hope to see you in the new year too. Take care. 😊🎄🎅

Merry Christmas Bella! Thank you for the great video.
When you said you "haunt the 💩 out of him" and "bum f'd nowhere" I died laughing! 🤣🤣
This is such a heartbreaking case. I feel so bad for the grandparents... losing their daughter then granddaughter:( so incredibly sad

I believe he didn't live Nickole with her grandparents because he knew she would be getting a check because her mom had pass. Happy Holidays everyone!! I pray your holidays are filled with lots of love, laughter, and tons of hug and kisses
man, there’s just something about her voice, she’s such a good storyteller I get sucked in every time
Your hair looks amazing! Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Let’s go u uploaded the video on my bday yesssssss
Thank you for the video, Bella! Merry Christmas! 🎄☃️
It does sound like Nicole is dead, and at her father's hands, since Barbara indicated he'd go to jail and she'd have to live without him. Such a sad case of fraud, for collecting money meant for Nicole, and death, of everyone involved.
happy for the new upload! have a great christmas :)
Dec 25th today Saturday in prescott az.
May all live with light, warmth, compassion today, tomorrow and always wherever you may be.
Happy Holidays Bella! 💕
Merry Christmas Bella 🎄
I made it right after you posting it for once!!!! Thank you!!
Merry Christmas 🎄, Happy Holidays 🕎, and a Joyful, Prosperous New Year🥳🎉✨
New video 🤍 Merry Christmas everyone !!!
I believe that they stayed away from family members so no one would know this poor little innocent angel had met with foul play and they were collecting her monthly state benefits. They never cared about his daughter or were remorseful for her disappearance, otherwise they would have written it on the letter they sent his family.
I didn't get notified. I just typed Bella Fiori... perfect timing or what? I'm not complainnggg🥰🥰
Merry Christmas from England Bella! 💜
Missed you girl ! Hope you’re doing well, merry Christmas ❤️
Hi Bella! Thank you for posting! Perfect timing 😊
I do think that they killed her. I just think it's so weird that in the suicide note they didn't mention anything. Usely in suicide notes they confess to everything just to put themselves at peace and also for everyone else too.
Hi if anyone could help me I would be so grateful I live in New York and my sister has been missing for a month the police are not helping what so ever she is nine years old her name is everly-Kate Johnson she has green eyes Carmel skin she is skinny she has vitalgo on her left eye and down her left leg when she is about 5’2 she has bucked teeth her hair is brown and when she went missing she had on a pink coat and black jeans and orange boots her - thank you for your time
I was in a bad mood and came here wanting to find a murder mystery video from Bella what r the chancessss
This whole case is irritating my soul. I’m so mad at that detective. Why would you make that move? They could’ve fled the country & it would be the same outcome. ??? Makes no sense
Merry Christmas 🎄 🤶🏼 🎄 🎅🏼
From Birmingham, Alabama
Merry Xmas everyone! Can’t wait to watch this video 🥰
I’m really curious as to how the dad and step mom claiming her social security checks for 18 years when the child clearly never lived with them, is not evidence enough. They should at LEAST arrest them for fraud.
Pretty difficult to do that when they died in a murder-suicide way back in 1997 … Apparently, you didn’t watch this video?
