I feel like this level was kind of a tribute to the first spyro game. The cats were kind of like druids. The music was more like spyro one-ish. It had the enemies that would turn giant and small. It had the stairs that would turn flat and let you slide off.
boemchak I know this comment is super old and all but the developers said this level WAS in fact a call back to the more basic level design of Spyro 1 and how far they've come in the trilogy. :D
I love how this level, its music, the enemies, mechanics, and aesthetics are one giant tribute to the Magic Crafters and Dream Weavers levels of Spyro 1, which were some of my favorites from the original game. They're strong reasons why the original Spyro the Dragon is my favorite of the original trilogy.
That's because Stewart Copeland, the drummer for The Police was commissioned to make the soundtrack for the PS1 trilogy And it wasn't just "give me some money and I'll give you some music" deal, he actually sat down and played each level several times to come up with the perfect theme for each one
@@samin90 I'm not discrediting Steward Copeland's work or anything but the way you say "Give me some money and I'll give you some music" makes it sound like most video game music is half assed and I disagree with that implication. Good video games always have good soundtracks, its one of those factors that makes or breaks the game.
This one REALLY showcases his talent for music making. It's by all means meant to sound rather whimsical, has this magic folk-tale sound to it; but it's also groovy, like extremely groovy. I can't help but headbang when listening to this.
Dalek Dusty you could be right...hmmm Aha! Alpine Ridge and Charmed Ridge...hmmm...just like I was saying u could be right, though I would go for dream weavers if I were u.
One of my top 10 Spyro Levels. It's so funny, I was little and would always listen to the Police for the Drums and Stewart. I absolutely lost my shit when credits rolled and I realized he was also the one who made these amazing games music. Haha it's just funny how somehow I was unintentionally a huge fan of both these totally different genres of music, and it all ended up being made one dude. All this happened when I was like 4 or 5. I really didnt believe it was the same Stew at first, but It was! :)
I think it was a sample off SpectraSonic's Distorted Reality; very famous soundpack from the start 00's used in a lot of media, has so many great sounds. Used all the way from Spyro to Silent Hill.
One of my top 3 levels on Spyro 3. Both the music and designs are highly reminiscent of the first game, which is my favorite of the bunch (not a popular opinion, I know, but whatever)
The fairies were asking spyro to save their princess from the prince but ended up the princess wanting to marry him and they drove away... even sgt byrd was banging a fairy
I loved the Sgt Byrd level. I always thought it was funny when he was trying to hide the secret of him getting nookie with a fairy. “What… what are you giving me that look for?” 😂😂😂
This level stressed me tf out. A fairy urgently telling me to hurry up there’s cat wizards storming into a castle to marry a fairy and I must somehow “end” this? I sped run this world only to turn out they were eloping. Haha
This level almost took half my lives. I love it but for people that don’t know it, trust me you will die couple times here, from m gliding across the platforms to the cats and witches making you die. It’s so frustrating
my favorite song omg I almost cried when I re played this game today (Im 20 and I played 10 years ago). I remember I loved the wizard kitties but their voices were creepy e.e
I'm 25 and played it when it came out 18 years ago. I well up every time I hear the music. I'm going to be a mess when the reignited trilogy comes out XD
Not sure why but this became one of my fave levels or even my fave. Don’t know why but there’s something about it. I’m Tempted to recreate this level but for Mario 64
I don't see how this was a tribute to the first game. Yeah the music sounds a LITTLE similar. But it still uses a lot of Liquid Grooves/Distorted Reality loops and the slide guitar. Edit: this comment was made when I was stupid and judgemental of this game without having played it. I played it and yeah it's a spyro 1 level in spyro 3. put magic crafters assets in their and you could convince me it was literally a spyro 1 scrapped level or that supposed "early magic crafters build".
How come the music kept fading out for quarter of a second when the drums start playing at 0:26? I thought I was having trouble with my cords but it turns out the music does that.
Charmed ridge takes a lot from the first game from magic crafters and the dream weavers the only thing it takes from The artisans is the skybox it's the same as Town square and coincidentally The artisans magic crafters and dream weavers are all odd number worlds in Spyro 1. Spyro 3 takes a lot from Spyro 1
Spyro, we urgently need your help! The evil cat wizards of Felinia have stormed our castle and captured our princess! If we don't stop them right away, they'll force her to marry prince Azrael!
Jack: “Help me find the golden goose!”
Also Jack: *Jumps 50 feet in the air to reach it*
Exactly. When I was replaying this game yesterday I was like. "Wait why can't he just get the goose himself?"
🤣🤣🤣
I feel like this level was kind of a tribute to the first spyro game. The cats were kind of like druids. The music was more like spyro one-ish. It had the enemies that would turn giant and small. It had the stairs that would turn flat and let you slide off.
Also that piano tune sounds very much like the piano in Lofty Castle
boemchak I know this comment is super old and all but the developers said this level WAS in fact a call back to the more basic level design of Spyro 1 and how far they've come in the trilogy. :D
no wonder its the only good level in this game AYOOOOOOO
There was also the bright blue water which you'd drown in rather than swim in.
And both levels have "Ridge" in their names...
That damned Jack and Beanstalk mini game. I remember getting stuck on that for hours when I was younger.
This music and level felt ripped right out of Spyro 1, I loved it.
According to the devs, the level as a whole was meant to be a Spyro 1 callback.
Omg same! I like Spyro 1 most because it has that whimsical fantasy aesthetic and sound that later games drift away from
this song is a perfect example of how much work was put into just the soundtrack by itself
That's because Stewart Copeland, the drummer for The Police was commissioned to make the soundtrack for the PS1 trilogy
And it wasn't just "give me some money and I'll give you some music" deal, he actually sat down and played each level several times to come up with the perfect theme for each one

Facts underrated game ost

This song really made me feel inside a magic story, like this level seems to be.
Anderson Oviedo Vélez its that funky slide string section.
Almost like Lofty Castle?
This has some Lofty Castle vibes. I love it.
out of the entire spyro 3 ost this feels the most like classic spyro
This one REALLY showcases his talent for music making. It's by all means meant to sound rather whimsical, has this magic folk-tale sound to it; but it's also groovy, like extremely groovy. I can't help but headbang when listening to this.
Just caught myself headbanging to it. 😂
This reminds me so much of Lofty Castles…
Reminds me of Magic Crafters
More like dream weavers for me
Don't you mean Dream Weavers?
More of dream weavers vibes for me
Dalek Dusty you could be right...hmmm Aha! Alpine Ridge and Charmed Ridge...hmmm...just like I was saying u could be right, though I would go for dream weavers if I were u.
@@Galax395 Yeah, that is a better selection. Also, will you be posting the ReIgnited Trilogy soundtrack too?

I've always loved how this track felt like a call back to the 1st Spyro
This got town square, wizard peak and lofty castle feel and I love it.
I really like that wishy-washy sounds on the percussion, mostly noticeable right at the beginning
That sound is used in a lot of the Spyro soundtrack. I also like it.
I think it was a sample off SpectraSonic's Distorted Reality; very famous soundpack from the start 00's used in a lot of media, has so many great sounds. Used all the way from Spyro to Silent Hill.
This is my favorite track from this game. It reminds me of my childhood so much
I liked the charmed, sorcery theme . The cat witches, the snooty green fairies, the princess and her handsome charmer cat boyfriend lmfaooo
I love how this takes elements of both Magic Crafters and Dream Weavers from Spyro 1.
One of my top 3 levels on Spyro 3. Both the music and designs are highly reminiscent of the first game, which is my favorite of the bunch (not a popular opinion, I know, but whatever)
Actually, same. The music is awesome and the story of this level killed me
Best level in the whole game
Can't wait to hear this in reignited trilogy
This world was one of my favourites :3 I want to see Princess Amy and Prince Azrael in HD :3
I love that piano, reminds me as a kid cant wait to hear this original version in the Reignited trilogy.
Slowing this song down to 0.75 speed makes it sound more like a Spyro 1 track.
I'll never forget about that beanstalk mission in this level
SPYRO 1 VIBES!!!! Music to my ears! I loved the secret skill point in this level. Got there out of sheer curiosity!
this was by far my favourite level in the game :D
Spyro the first vibes OVERLOAD !
My favourite video game track of all time!! I cant wait for the reignited trilogy 😍
this song is too awesome!!!!!
It makes me cry!
My full childhood 😭
Thanks Spyro, my little hero 😢
This makes a good theme song for Spyro if he had his own TV show.
This soundtrack and Lofty castle from 1 are my favourites
Those sounds the cat wizards made when they were hit by Spyro, were just out of this world xDD
I love the magic in this level :)
I only watched it on TH-cam half a year ago and I never grew up with the game and this game sends me so many signals of nostalgia
A i d a n B o i t r u c k Yeah. I feel that same way experiencing Spyro 2 and 3 for the first time ever. It feels familiar even though it isn’t.
What you mean you never played these classics back in the ps1 days? Woah you must be young
@@chrisstanley9477 Right lol not gonna lie tho my cousin had Spyro 1 i had 3 on the PS1
The fairies were asking spyro to save their princess from the prince but ended up the princess wanting to marry him and they drove away... even sgt byrd was banging a fairy
“CAUUUUUKKKK!!!!!”
0:11 hits hard af
I loved the Sgt Byrd level. I always thought it was funny when he was trying to hide the secret of him getting nookie with a fairy.
“What… what are you giving me that look for?” 😂😂😂
,,Hurry Spyro!, Prince Azrael…” this was gold 😂
I own Spyro. The reignited trilogy.
The enemies in this level make funny sounds when you torch them.
This Level Really Creeped Me Out As A Kid‚ I Never Could Get Past Jack And The Beanstalk I Swear lol
you really have to think with that quest
Giordan Diodato Yes! I think that was the only egg I never got
Gaiaxium me 2 that was a pain in the a$$ it took me forever to finally hop and hover on top to get that stupid golden duck finally did it though
Gaiaxium I swear I did that jump on mushroom and hover about 300 400 times before I got it
Robert Castillo I don't think I ever got that egg as a kid. I'd have to watch a tutorial even now tbh haha
This level stressed me tf out. A fairy urgently telling me to hurry up there’s cat wizards storming into a castle to marry a fairy and I must somehow “end” this? I sped run this world only to turn out they were eloping. Haha
This just came on my autoplay and I immediately went "BANGER!"
"cats, basically I love you but here your annoying, put it back the stairs... Now!!!"
I remember being stuck on the goose challenge for a while.
Unpopular opinion: this is my favorite spyro level/soundtrack
I loved this level so much.
Stewart Copeland be like
*Playing a burning piano*
Whenever I think of this level, the ? vase comes to mind.
I loved this level, one of the most memorable one's for me
I'm going to get those cat wizards!!
This and fireworks factory are the greatest levels in the series.
This level almost took half my lives. I love it but for people that don’t know it, trust me you will die couple times here, from m gliding across the platforms to the cats and witches making you die. It’s so frustrating
This stage got less fodder for sparx, the faires are beautiful and those cat wizards are cute and funny.
my favorite song omg I almost cried when I re played this game today (Im 20 and I played 10 years ago). I remember I loved the wizard kitties but their voices were creepy e.e

The music at 2:43 reminds me of part of the soundtrack in Aquaria Towers.
who's here for waiting too long for reignited trilogy :(
This guy. 🙋 :/

one of my favorite spyro memories was being like 5 and trying to figure out how to get to the top of the castle with the seeds.
Someone needs to do a mashup of this and alpine ridge.
As a cat person I hated to harm the cats
Hell YES.
Perfect song for dragon's prophet
I think Evening Lake has the best levels
Amen!! Charmed Ridge, Frozen Altars, Lost Fleet and of course Fireworks Factory are all
I C O N I C !!!
And they're so damn iconic with their themes
Not sure why but this became one of my fave levels or even my fave. Don’t know why but there’s something about it. I’m Tempted to recreate this level but for Mario 64

1:29 THIS
How come the music kept fading out for quarter of a second when the drums start playing at 0:26? I thought I was having trouble with my cords but it turns out the music does that.
i dont hear that. unless you mean the drum beat stopping? that stewart copelands composition lol
I think this is a mashup of Dream Wearers, Magic Crafters and Glimmer from the previous 2 games.
1:48
Ah.. The first of Its kind. The Magic piano samba genre.
0:41 is that written in the 12 bar blues?
Has anybody got on top of the chess piece near the beginning
420/69 would blaze to this song.
beans
on toast
I hate the Sgt byrd minigame in this level...
Neko rih Same here... :/ If the missile's tracking and fire rate were higher, it would be more tolerable. To me at least.
The third segment was harder
It was okay. Definitely gets old after the first round.
Neko rih I personally didn’t mind it at all. Then again, I played the Reignited version.
Wasn't as bad as that damm trolley tho...
At least Charmed Ridge doesn't have those scary four-legged creatures that were in Alpine Ridge. Kinda creepy honestly.
freaking fairies everywhere and withcats XDDDD
I played this at 4:00 and I got in trouble
