One of the few bassists on TH-cam who reviews gear and can actually PLAY like a bass player. It’s so hard to get a read on gear via videos when the reviewers aren’t playing bass like a bassist. Mad respect for this man. Wish there more like him on TH-cam!
I've been going ampless and using this DI for all kinds of big and small gigs for the past 10 months. I use the SVT setting with the 8x10 cab and I love it ! I'll admit I haven't really used the 4x10 cab much but after watching this video I will check it out. Great video!
Thank you SO MUCH for showing this thing with a Bongo running through it. My Bongo is my main bass and I’ve been curious about this pedal. You freaking rock man.
The only problem I have with Jayme doing product reviews is he can make anything sound like a million bucks. If you gave him a rock, a ball of yarn and an empty coffee can he could probably get great tone out of that. 🙂
Hi Jamie, great demo but isn't the voice (SVT, B-15) mode only available when the SGT is engaged? I thought I read or heard that somewhere? Still a nice demo though!- Brent, VT
One quick question. From what you have seen from this pedal, how do you think it would handle a separate distortion pedal going into it? Like the Source Audio Aftershock pedal? Would it end up a muddy mess, or would this preamp work well with it?
3:40 what kind of strings are on that Squier Bronco bass? By the way, i think it's really cool that you play different basses and styles of music so well, it truly lets the gear speak for itself! Awesome playing in general too, i hit you up with a sub ❤
Kinda makes me wonder, how much are squiers really being used in recordings these days...I mean, some iconic recordings were made using stuff like danelectro and supro which were the cheapos of their day
I’ve played this pedal both live and in the studio, because a producer friend brought it from the US. The compressor really sucks and the pedal isn’t as high quality as it looks. Noicy too, live. It’s just one taste of the Ampeg sound: the filthy one. Anyone that ever played an old SVT knows they sound really different (a lot cleaner). And that’s the sound people are looking for. I’d rather use use gear bij Tech21, Origin Effects or my trusty ‘63 OD pedal by Koch!
Thank you for not doing 10 minutes of smooth jazz noodling on the high register. Aggressive demo's of bass gear that aren't filmed on an iPhone 7 are few and far between.

Yes!! You are so right!
I appreciate that, thank you!
So true. SO may reviews of basses where all they demo is slap tones. Drives me nuts.
Amen to that! I totally agree! Thank you!
The only problem is he's so good I think he can make any pedal or Bass sound magical
I love how you can always tell a pro bass player by his right hand technique.

I love the fact that there is a Mel Brooks classic playing in the background! Cheers!

Thank YOU!
This is the content you excel at. Many basses and styles to demo gear. Great demo.
thank you!
Nice variety of songs to demo. Great job and, as usual, awesome playing.

If you replaced the rock with a hollow block of wood youve basically got a mic + amp
Great playing! How could this pedal be mounted on a mic stand for onstage use? Thanks!

I’m newer to playing bass. I want to buy this for live shows, can it be run straight into a mixer? Or does it need something else
Have had this for a couple of months and I love it. The B15 voicing is so good

The cleaner pick sound was killer!
Whats the song for the Old Skool demo ? frickin slaps ....
I ordered the pedal more than a month ago and still no news, it seems to be out of stock everywhere. Am-I alone in this situation ?
SOUNDS GOOD UNCLE JAYME
Great playing and looks like a cool piece of gear. Anyway, you could post some of the film titles in your video?
Hi, great job, can you tell
Me the name of that funky song you labeled as Song 2 ,Jamerson on that cheaper bass?
It hasn't been released yet - but stay tuned! It'll be on the Spotify playlist soon :)

Those look like tape wound strings to my eyes.
That Torillo in the background 😍
one of my favs :)
I went with the Origins Super Vintage but this sounds great too.
Any good for fretless?
I want to see/hear more of that new Sadowsky Metro express...
I spent an hour with it in this live stream th-cam.com/users/live2HNKuTLEPnk
What is the song on Old Skool?
Can it simulate the opening theme of Barney Miller,
Not everyone's go too "Seinfeld" theme...?
Was that the Bronco from the ice bucket challenge?

yes it is! still works :)

I want one of these. However, I have heard several people say the pedals only last 2 years and then they die. Anyone have this experience?
How does anyone know that when it was only released a few months ago?
@@DruEllz Was the previous version I am speaking of.
@@SplitHairz there isn't a previous version. Ampeg have never made anything like this before.
@@DruEllzit was the Ampeg Classic Analog Bass Preamp Pedal
@@SplitHairz ah, ok. That pedal isn't related to this one at all so any problems people may have had with it are irrelevant.
Was soll denn das dumme Video im Hintergrund? Was willst du uns sagen?
Danke für keine Antwort. 😮
