As someone who grew up with a drug addict dad I made these jokes at alanas age. It’s a way she’s trying to cope and I think all the adults yelling at her is making her feel worse
While I can agree it can be a coping mechanism, it still isn’t right. She has a platform where many people view her, and there are people who either have been in a similar situation themselves or had people close to them in this situation. It’s not exactly the most acceptable way to make fun of it when it’s a serious topic for certain people.

She’s been around comedy shows hearing these “comedians” make jokes about drug addiction and her own mothers issues so why wouldn’t she? She’s young... you have to teach her that it’s not okay or funny, she’s just trying to cope and lighten a super heavy situation.

However this is when her manager should step up and make her go to therapy not a one time session with the WE TV therapist, but a private facility where she doesn't have cameras and she can truly vent. Correct. And 12/13/14 year olds don’t think like adults. Their brain isn’t fully developed and then can’t always predict the consequences of their actions. She’s still a kid! And also, a child should not be worrying about sponsorships and making money for the family.
That joke is a coping mechanism that Alana probably psychologically doesn’t understand. Grounding her and limiting her privileges is a good idea but yelling and shouting at her as if it’s all her fault probably won’t help. I genuinely think she needs a therapist so she can talk through her issues and understand why she may do the things she does and why those actions might connect to her mother. She’s grown enough to understand that, these adults just need to treat her as such.

Its hamazing how good Mother lauryn turned out to be, and how Well alana is handling these things. I was cheering Pumpkin on as she put Alana in her place. Correct. And 12/13/14 year olds don’t think like adults. Their brain isn’t fully developed and then can’t always predict the consequences of their actions. She’s still a kid! And also, a child should not be worrying about sponsorships and making money for the family.
That joke is a coping mechanism that Alana probably psychologically doesn’t understand. Grounding her and limiting her privileges is a good idea but yelling and shouting at her as if it’s all her fault probably won’t help. I genuinely think she needs a therapist so she can talk through her issues and understand why she may do the things she does and why those actions might connect to her mother. She’s grown enough to understand that, these adults just need to treat her as such.

There is Kids, Who turn out okay because of their parents, and there is Kids Who turn out okay despite their parents. Its hamazing how good Mother lauryn turned out to be, and how Well alana is handling these things. Alana is a teenager after all, doesnt always know what is best for her, and acts out, but all teenagers do.
I am proud of pumpkin. She has grown up so much.
I hope Honey boo boo's doing good and I hope that her mom gets her act together and I have my prayers and thoughts are with your family and my prayers are with your mother to get help and to see the brighter side of life

I was cheering Pumpkin on as she put Alana in her place. Her and Josh are really stepping up to be the parent figure that Alana needs especially when I don’t think she’s ever got an actual punishment for anything. She needs to be taught that drug addiction/drugs in general are not a joke and should be taken seriously (I mainly blame the internet and the jokes she was hearing at the club for this).
