  • Breitling's Icon- The Navitimer. This is my review of the historic automatic chronograph. Apart from having a little bit hard to grip and wind crown I think it is a very nice offering that makes a satisfying addition to any luxury rotation. For any interested in getting competitive pricing from my AD the contact info is below. Name drop me please. I don't get any commission, but it helps my relationship with Saltzmans. Thanks guys!

    I love that watch. Would never think of taking it in water so water resistance is a non issue for me. It’s a beauty.

    Hi Bruce, I totally agree. The NT is an amazing watch, no doubt and I really love the brand. Nevertheless I would like to see Breitling to increase the water resistance up to 100 m, independent of the fact that the NT is made for avaiation. In daily use this would bring just a little more convenience, because you just do not have to think about your watch when you are getting in contact with water. BR Uwe

    Nice review. Great watch. Have mine ordered and can't wait. If I had my way though, Golden Wings for me.

      Yes they are making great choices! My only request would be to bring back the gold wings

    How do you feel about 30m water resistance? I know it’s a chrono, but do you think it’ll stand test of time and be able to be passed on to next generation if you don’t swim with it etc? Need it to handle a torrential rainfall. The breitling aviator 8 b01 has 100m wr and Daytona does too...

    • @BruceWilliams
      @BruceWilliams  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't think it is an issue. Obviously don't go swimming with it but if you get caught in a sudden rainstorm you'll be fine. Especially with regular maintenance and gasket replacement. I would be more worried about the leather strap myself

  • @1000lightyrs
    @1000lightyrs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think the B looks great on this dial. Breitling leather straps look so meaty and well made, I really need to get one for my Galactic 41

  • @RedEagle4Y
    @RedEagle4Y 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks, this is a very nice watch with a classic background. I will definitely be buying one in the near future. Love the crocodile leather strap and look for one with gold trim and Arabic letters with 12 in view at the top. Not sure if the dial will be black or dark blue with a matching strap.

    I’m trying to decide between the 43 or 46 for this exact color scheme. My wrist also measures 7.25” … probably at the limits on case size if I go 46.

    Hi guys, i would like to know where can I find a video about the differences between the chronograph and the automatic watches.
    Are the chronograph moved by batteries? Thanks and sorry for my ignorance, just starting in this world

    Good video Bruce. Why not the model AB012012, which does have the gold wings? That's the one that I'm looking to get, but you worried me with you comments about the early issues with the B01 movement. Not sure if this is an early model, which would be predisposed to those issues.

    The chrono seconds hand stutters a lot. Is it some footage artifact or does it really stutter? It is well noticeable at 4:09min.

    • @BruceWilliams
      @BruceWilliams  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes there is a bit of a stutter to the Chrono hand, definitely visible on the macro shots

    I’ve thought about adding one but to be honest I’ve never tried one on. How does it wear and does it feel substantial? Great vid Bruce!

    • @BruceWilliams
      @BruceWilliams  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It wears really nice. Not too tall and not too hefty on the leather. I would say it feels as substantial as a moon watch or el primero on leather

      Having bought a B/Nav: 46mm 11 months ago. I will say it's wears well also looks great. Just one small problem the movement is at best rubbish. I think they have become very popular, so they are rushing them out without any care.
      The one I got gained around 10 Min: every day from day 1??? Has been back for fixing, a few months after that the Winding button stopped working making it useless as a watch. Now it's back yet again to fix that problem. Should get it back in around 3/4 months due to the lack of spares from Breitling. It's been back at the repair shop more than I have warn it. Tip think about buying one. But whatever you do don't spend your monies on one.

    I thought you wanted to discuss how the watch winds, which you said was somewhat loud and you stated there was a specific torque necessary to wind it.

    • @BruceWilliams
      @BruceWilliams  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry totally forgot. It is a little hard to grip with large fingers because of the proud bezel teeth. It's not as smooth as a bb Chrono which uses a modified b01 but I would say it's nicer action than the common 7750.

    I love this watch in a 43 size, but the Chronomat would be the one for me if they would make it smaller. Do you think they would ever go with a 42 Chronomat or even bring back the Colt 41? I’ve been thinking about flipping my Superocean II 42 for the 43 Navi, but have been waiting for a possible change to the Chronomat, which I don’t want to miss out on should it happen. 🙉

    That intro music made me think I was gonna watch some honestoutlaw. That’s the only watch I’ve had on my wish list consistently for several years now. I’d have a hard time not spending that kinda cash on soooo many other things though.

    The winged logo and the classic date font version is so much better. Erasing one line of text in the dial is ok though but the simple “B” just doesn’t do it for me. I have my Navitimer 01 since 2015 and it’s just perfect.

    Most wear it above, it’s hard to get an idea of how it will wear like that,

      I had the same mindset. However this model with the “B” you can now classify it as a limited edition. 2022 models reverted back to the wings which makes the ones with the “B” logo more valuable in the long term.

      If that’s the case, then I recommend an eye exam. I have zero issues telling the time on a quick glance; even when I tried-on the smaller 41.
