    I’ve just tried the 46mm in green at my local breitling boutique and I was blown away by that dial. I totally agree with you regarding the packaging because the old style boxes just get fired up into the top of the wardrobe and don’t see the light of day again. I love Breitling and can’t wait to purchase the 46mm green Navitimer . Great video 👍

    Congrats Nigel. The 43mm is the perfect size and it does look fantastic on your wrist 🙌🏼

    Nice review Sir. The size of its big brother is what’s keeping me from trying a Navitimer but now there’s a new kid in town and I might dip my toes in the world of Breitling 😉

    Hello. Nice video, but I have a question for you. Could you tell me why the Navitimer bezel has a red mark or arrow at number 36? I have seen several instructions on the slide rule and none explains it. Greetings.

    • @SirWatchGeek
      @SirWatchGeek  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there!
      This is what I found after a Google search:
      The 36 markers provide for quick conversion between seconds and hours, since there are 3600 seconds in one hour.
      For example, put the outer 15 over the inner 10, representing 1.5 hours. the inner red marker at 36 aligns with an outer reading of 54, meaning 1.5 hours is 5400 seconds.
      You would do it exactly the same way without the marker, ie, a computation of 15 by 36 to give 54. The red marker just makes it easier to find the 36.
      Vice versa you would use the outer 36 at the inner 10 to crank out multiplications of 3600 by any number of hours.
      It seems the distance, fuel and weightI conversions are placed simply at convenient points around the dial, but in the correct ratio.

    Everything looks too squished in on a smaller Navi. Definitely don't sell the 46. A pilot's watch is supposed to be big!

    • @SirWatchGeek
      @SirWatchGeek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The diameter of the very first Navitimer was 41mm! Dial definitely doesn’t look too busy (for me anyway 😁) 👍

    Question. Is it any good??? The reason I ask Is I obtained a new 46mm Navitimer 11 months ago. The thing has Never kept good time from day 1. Always ran 10 Min: fast every 24 hours. Now to crown it all the setting button has stopped working. It has been sent back to the shop for repair under Breitling Guarantee. Now turns out Their Guarantee is useless, and they want 600UK to sort it. Tip if you decide to buy a Breitling check it works before you spend any monies. Only thing that I was pleased about (I live in Thailand) I bought it here so only paid 7% VAT. Once it's fixed it's going to be for sale sharpish before anything else goes wrong. N/B this is not my first Breitling watch. The first one I got never kept good time either. Now thank Buddha that has now been fixed. Would I buy another Breitling??? Not on your life.

      Hi Frederick. That's such a shame to hear 😕. Doesn't sound like your AD is doing a very good job at all. Have you reached out to Breitling directly?

    • @fredob43
      @fredob43 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SirWatchGeek Sorry for the late reply. But I have been on a few days holiday.
      Yes, I did contact Breitling direct. Received an Email saying sorry to hear I was having problems. Also, in their reply they wanted the watch No: and the code No: of said Navitimer. I duly sent same since then not a word of reply. As I said their guarantees like their watches are at best RUBBISH. Suggest you keep well away for any of their products. I know I will be.

      @@fredob43 That is terrible customer service! It's a bit too late for me to stay away from them - I have 5 now. Had no trouble with any of them - which is no consolation to you I know 😕. I hope you get it sorted my friend. Such a shame that things like this put you off a brand for life.

    • @fredob43
      @fredob43 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SirWatchGeek Terrible customer service??? more like No customer service to me. It'll be fixed but it looks like I shall have to pay. As luck would have it only 600UK. I have told the repair shop to fix it. Once fixed it's going for as much as I can get. Sad thing is that'll be around another 3/4 months as spare parts are taking that long to come from Breitling. Seems to me they are rubbish at everything. Please Buddha you don't have any problems. If you do at least you will know how long, you will have to wait for any parts.

    I am on the fence between the 43mm and 41mm. I like the 41mm in green and white sundials over the 43mm with black subdials, but prefer the 43mm dial spacing.

      I suppose a watch is worth whatever you're prepared to pay for it! Breitlings are on the pricey side, and they don't hold their value at all (mostly), but for me, this is the one piece I will never sell.

    Missing scale on the new one is the tachymeter scale, which enables to calculate speed of an object along 1km or a mile. This calculation can be done with the sliding rule alone which means it’s a good thing Breitling removed it :) best regards

      This was A True tool watch At the Time,used primarily by Aircraft pilots,Hence the AOPA designation! I don't think people collected watches as a commodity then as they Do now,Nor were they marked up a thousand percent as they are now! This watch was payment from A Jewelry Wholesaler who was a client of his for services rendered by my Dad, who was a C.P.A.! I was 11 years old!
