Again, nice to see builds like this with just a stock DB to see how it works without any other mods. Thanks!
Yep. We love to show what you can do from stock.
Wow something new I haven’t seen, looks like this is going to be awesome yeah we’re here watching from Manchester Michigan
Yeah, it’s unique for sure.
Cool little project 🤩
definitely different.
The micrometer has another side 😂 but great in depth tutorial!
Yes it does!
good vid, anyone can do an install vid but you have added so much more by highlighting build issues and solutions to overcome. Good stuff!
Thanks for watchin!
Not a huge cantilever suspension fan but this is a good looking chassis and decent cantilever setup.
it seems to run good so far. We are thinking Monster Truck though! lol
You can mount shocks without cantilever as well
Finally someone came out with a cantilevered set up. I need that part for one of my builds! Nice video bud 👊🏼
Thanks a ton my dude. Be sure to tell Nexx that The Shop - Mini RC sent yah! Lol
@@TheShopMiniRC of course! 👊🏼
That’s looking super cool I did it
Nice!
Monster it after crawling it 😈
Kinda our thoughts.
I just want to buy these cantilever parts to tinker with. But they're not available individually.
Cool stuff though!
Hardpark sells some for their goblin chassis (or it comes with. You can always reach out to em)
Nice looking chassis a good video. Although you need to put the body on to make any kind of comparison to stock. Could you do the climb and side Hill test again once the body is mounted? 👍🏾
Thing is, we don’t know what kind of body we are going to mount. And any body we do mount, likely will be very different than the deadbolt. :-/
@@TheShopMiniRC how about doing it again but taking the body off the Deadbolt. That would be a completely fair comparison. 👌🏾
Like your videos, keep them coming. 👍🏾
@@perkinmasters3848 Yeah, we should have taken the body off. Next time!
Wow that thing looks really good 🤩 it's literally amazing what the manufacturers have developed for the SCX24. What came of this chassis? Did you make your monster truck in the end?
Unfortunately I haven’t had time. The chassis sits in a shelf next to my desk. Some day I’ll do something awesome with this.
That's a shame, hopefully you can do your monster truck soon🤞
Find some purple Loc-tite 💜
That stuff is better for small hardware
Good point!
Never heard of purple loctite got a link?
had mine for about a month or so, It's a glorified farm truck chassis (trails not flex) which is good for those type of builds. And yes there is such thing as to much flex lol. Keep up the good content 🤘
What should we build with it? The final form?
@@TheShopMiniRC Try a MT build, think it could go well, cantilevers will help stabilize it more considering MTs dont need flex. Or a rock bouncer, that would be sweet also. It's what I would do if I had all the parts needed.
Cut the holes out all together for the belly plate. Go to slots so you have max adjustability! ;) Same for servo tray posts, like the Mofo trays, that's got multiple holes. Ditch the holes and 4 screws. Go one screw per side and do slots.
Not a bad idea. I think holes keep rigidity on the frame though.
@@TheShopMiniRC BUT....once you bolt it to the plate, that will take care of any flex. 👍
Definitely a performance build or even a mud bog build seems like the shocks might stay a little cleaner up there😂
No a bad idea.
How do you mount the body pose to the chassis
We Donno yet. Lol.
Can I put those axles on my scx24?
The axles I showed were FCX24 axles and yes, you can with some creativity. They are not a direct swap.. but it’s pretty easy to do. You can find the axles here: shrsl.com/3lyfk
Are Nexx new to RC?
No. Nexx has been around in the mini z world for a while. They are kinda new to scx.
@@TheShopMiniRC Ah! Their site just seemed a bit void of info. "About", "shipping", etc.
Rear steer monster truck
could be fun!
I like the chassis shape. Just needs a carb.fib. roof. I'd love to see it setup as a crawler for sure. Might be interesting to see if those cantilever arms could be set up as Flex Blades or something that adds droop like Flex Blades. That be a cool video! Maybe start with it as built, but setup for crawling with just the addition of stamp steel rims and good tires, since stock tires are a bust. Maybe throw in the long travel shock kit too.
We plan to build it up at some point.
its nice to see a cantilever frame, but this design is so incredibly useless. not only does it have less uptravel in suspension, but the geometry gives you half the droop as well. way to make a frame that is categorically worse than stock.
I think there are definitely trade offs. Some builds may really want a cantilever setup. It helps a TON with clearance issues and such. Also, you can still get some decent articulation. But you are right, it is limited.
@@TheShopMiniRC its a shame, a simple change in geometry will solve the articulation issues. this was just slapped together with little thought on actual function
@@abcdefbcdefg8352 what do you think that change should be?
@@TheShopMiniRC instead of shipping with a really small isosceles triangle, use a scalene triangle to take advantage of a shaper pivot and gain a deeper tuck while maintaining the same down travel as a traditionally placed shock of a similar length.
i purchased a madbull frame last week, and have been playing around with different cantilever setups. my current build can get 25mm of vertical travel(35mm mount point to axle) using a mofo 43mm with a 13mm stroke. current plan is a diy 1/24 ifs awd prerunner/trophy truck
@@abcdefbcdefg8352 great insight! We are super interested in an ifs setup ;)
It would have been nicer if the battery mount was in the front...$50 chassis top heavy....
we agree that it would be nice if you could move the tray around more.. but in the stock position , the tray is pretty low, )and you can lower it a LOT). But yes, a forward mount would be nice. You dont have to put your battery on that tray, you can use the tray for ESC/RX and have the bat forward. But would need a way to hold it.
