    Lots of respect for you Mike and the choices you’re making towards your family. That’s the same reason I am driving 2016 V6 which I’m totally happy with when I could’ve bought a GT but wouldn’t have had much extra money to put anything into my daughters college fund

    Awesome. Using your videos as inspiration, I put a new 3.40 pulley on the ProCharger on my 2016 and got it dyno tuned w/ Methanol Injection and 93. At ~12 PSI it's now pushing 475 RWHP and 408 Torque. Still has stock headers and cats, so I'm really happy w/ it as a daily driver.

    Good shit man, i had my 15 v6 for 2 years now and I think its time for an upgrade as well. I didn't do too many performance mods but if I was to stick with the 3.7 your stang is pretty much as good as I would want mine! You might want to look into 08+ corvettes, that's what i'm looking at because of the bang-for-your-buck on those cars. Stock those rockets shoot up to 190 mph! However no back seats and it'll probably be worse in the winter lol. Whatever you get though its fun to watch you build, being a college student I don't have much 'fun money' to throw around on cars unfortunately.

    Staying tuned, I figured out a while back that building a car is a learning process, I mean you can duplicate someone else's build but ultimately it comes down to what works for you. I personally follow others build but also not afraid to try out a few things even if as I've been told "it won't work", & if it don't work I sell the part & try something else. On that note, as you yourself have said "do what works for you". You get out of it what you put in to it. Always looking forward to what you do next. 🤔

    Hey there Mike, nice video, once again. I plan on doing some things to my Roush, just small things, but will make my car more "user friendly." I plan on installing the oil drain kit on my procharger, and either the Laguna seca gauge pod, or an A pillar pod holder with an oil pressure gauge and a boost gauge. Hopefully these will be TH-cam worthy. Good luck with the present build, it's real world, and many identify with your philosophy. I may email you for some advice about how to video my additions. Just a thought here but maybe to make things easier on you think about picking up a nice used 3.7 S197 and then put the Doomsday supercharger on that car. I.E. re-investing the mods in a new way😉

      TheUsmc913 Ask 10 people probably get 10 answers lol. I’m a big BMR fan. I’ve got their drag springs and vertical links now. Soon I’ll have their cradle lock out too. The S550’s are a struggle with the IRS and the wheel hop is for real. I’d also throw in some Viking adjustable shocks too. Heard great things about them as well. Thanks

      TheUsmc913 I actually like the stance. It’s a 1.5 front and .5 rear if memory serves. Gives it kind of an old school muscle car lean. I’m running a 295/40/18 in the rear though so it fills up the wheel well.

    Really cool for kid graduates early from school. Also nice your gonna help them out with first car. If I was you don’t buy your drag wheels and tires new. On Facebook marketplace or OfferUp look and see what’s available used. I see many front skinnes and rear drag bias or radials from 700 to 1500 for the full set with tires. If you planning on building another mustang I would suggest a gen 2. I love my S197 but I would really like the gen 2 because of how much they can handle. My gen 1 is lighter and can be built to handle more but the cost is crazy. My plans after my blower is a buy aluminator block

      Underfedcoyote 5.0 thanks man. Yeah I’ve been keeping my eye open for a used set but the timing will have to be just right. I want to get a set that can work on the next car too etc. If I get lucky and there’s a set that’ll work when I’ve got cash in hand my plans might change. I still haven’t settled on exactly what car I’m going to do next. I’m probably going to test drive a few different ones and see what speaks to me. If that makes sense 😂

      Doomsday410 ya there is a big part of me that wishes I would have bought the 18 2ss I test drove before my 18 pp1. That SS was a eight speed and was pretty damn quick and the interior was really nice. Myself I saw out the windows fine I’m shorter then most and it seemed to fit me great. I think if I would have bought the 18 camaro I would be Running deep into the 10s if not the 9s by now. But live and learn. My dream is to someday have a nice hellcat Challenger or a C8 will see after I get my car completed.

    It's a no brainer the man has to help his family first. Sell the s550 for 17k to 19k take off what you can. Buy low mileage 2014 s197 3.7 for 10k help your son and turbo the 14 s197 it's lighter than the s550 it's cheaper than s550 and it has the old 8.8 rear end parts are cheap, turboed s197 3.7 quarter mile record on stock sealed engine is 9s auto mafia you could take some power out of his set up and run 10s or low 11s.

  • @hu3.789
    @hu3.789 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When it comes to a full drag pack,, I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze. Skinnies with wheels will run you about $800-1,000 to knock about a tenth of a second at the end of the quarter mile. I would get a good set of tires for the back and call it a day. If you have a good set of Mickey Thompsons or M & H Racemasters, you might not need to replace the half shafts. If I'm not mistaken, the factory half shafts are the same for all S550s. Since your car is a V6, low end torque is less than a 5.0. I think the problem you were having is the Nitto 555rs drag tires you were using is a middle of the road tire. It's essentially a street tire that you can use at the dragstrip. I had those tires before. It is neither a good street tire because they wear out too quickly, nor is it a good drag tire. I had trouble getting good traction out of the hole with those. The M&H Racemasters I have now dead hook and I have a high stall torque converter. If you get cheap 15" or 17" wheels and either the Mickeys or the Racemasters, you should be able to launch fairly hard without spinning. Even with the lame 3.31s on my car, I get 1.8 60 foot times consistently and the tires absolutely dead hook. Autos have a steeper 1st gear than manuals so when it comes to coming out of the hole we are essentially about the same. I'd try the tires first because you know you're going to need them before I spent money on half shafts that you might not need.
    I'm going to replace the 3.31 gears with 4.10s. The reason for that is that I want to be close to red line in 4th gear at the end of the quarter mile. Right now I'm only turning about 5,200 RPM. The gears are on order and I should be getting them this week. Hopefully, I will be able to get 60 foot times in the high 1.6s or low 1.7s. If I'm close to the 11s which I expect to be, it will either be long tubes or changing the supercharger pulley to a smaller one. Like you, I am getting close to the end when it comes to performance mods. In my case, I will keep the car. I think I would like to add appearance mods and take it to car shows.

    • @Doomsday410
      @Doomsday410  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hu 3.7 Yeah all good points and I keep going back and forth on which tire. I’d love to have something with decent tread life that can be used and won’t kill me if I get caught in the rain. That’s a lot to ask 😆. For half shafts I’m just going with the GT350 ones for a little extra piece of mind. Only about 375 for the pair and they’ll come off if I trade it in.

    • @hu3.789
      @hu3.789 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Like me, you need a tire that has a tread on it. I live about 100 miles from the dragstrip and the last thing I want is to get caught in the rain with a tire that has no tread. I would suggest going to the Jegs website. You will be able to tell which tires would work by looking at the tread design. Look at tires that have a tread design that would channel water away. The M&Hs and the Mickey Thompson S/S have a softer compound than the Nitto 555rs and give you better traction. The bad part is both the M&Hs and Mickey are good for about 6,000-7,500 miles. As long as you change to a street tire when you're not racing, they should at least last the season.
