My question is, my kids mother called the cops on me for d.v. And when they came to the door she said nothing happened then signs a statement saying nothing happened. Leaves the house and goes to her mother’s house and makes another report now I have a d.v. Case against her and an order for protection on me. My lawyer said something about a program for 14 weeks and I could get up to five years on the order for protection. But this sounds crazy to me what advice do you have for me and this case I’m about to go to my next court date in October and will be four months in without grand jury
Hello Veronica. Without going too much into detail, I had some VERY HEAVY false allegations thrown my way in a DVRO out of the State of Washington, in which my children lied to their mother about a very specific incident that occurred during a vacation in WA (I live in California). There could have been potential damage to my career, my livelihood, and my life in general. I paid attention to your advice, I dressed to the nines, never interrupted the judge, came prepared with a statement as a respondent, detailed everything, told my truth, and the case was dismissed. I was being brought forth for disciplining (speaking to, not touching) my children, where my children misinterpreted and relayed the verbal disciplining to their mother as abuse, in which their mother tried to implicate “domestic violence” inflicted upon my children. I successfully defended myself in court and was able to move on thanks to your expertise, advice and help. You are a godsend. I now know (unfortunately) to document every visit and protect myself because I fear the distance between me and my children has created more potential for my children to become treacherous, vile, and jealous; these are the “motherly” traits they are learning that I will eventually have to help them unlearn and reprogram. Thank you once again, I couldn’t have did it without your videos.
Congratulations!! That’s fantastic news. Great job winning your hearing. And thank you for letting me know! Your comment made my day ☺️ I’m so happy for you!
What do you do when an ex-husband made sure to file a restraining order to keep you from getting help after sexually assaulting you and strangling you until you passed out?
(1) File a police report and do everything you can to get him arrested and charged. Don’t bail him out or answer his calls; (2) Go to the hospital immediately. Take pictures of all of your injuries. Create a paper trail; (3) Get a TRO against him, especially if 1-2 failed or if you didn’t want to do 1 because of children, shared assets, support issues, etc. If you skipped 1-3, got served with a TRO, and are now wondering what your next steps are, I think you are in mandatory get a lawyer territory. Your next steps are too fact-specific to offer general guidance, and it’s important that you protect yourself.
