It's a bad kinescope and Dean is not right for this role. Still, he brings a sweetness and tenderness in his acting here. And it"s great to see what he could do with a period piece (never easy to do). Also, it's always a pleasure to see Mary Astor, an excellent actress.

This repeat is available on TH-cam, runs 29:33 and includes a retro-advert showing Dean in a Pepsi commercial from 1950. He made 2 for Pepsi. I don't recall if they both aired or this was the one that was approved and shown.
