I was on the production crew side of this tour and it changed my life
I am sure!!!
My god man!! Tell us a story??!
yeah how and in what ways did that change the life
you lived an amazing life at the time
@@ryanjlightful I was with the opening act who happen to be dope as well. I was cool with D'Angelo's two amazing guitar players at this time. The whole band and crew were so professional.
The first thing I noticed was how focused they all were. When I had time I mainly just stood back and watched, it was hard to focus on my own job. There was an aura throughout the area every night..
I hung out (fly on the wall learning) in the studio with D'Angelo & Saadiq times doing production.
D'Angelo is in my top 5 so I've been blessed
Pino’s bass lines are so dope!!!
Amhir and Pino. A-Team in the engine room.
Pino funking the crap out his bass as per usual :P
I’ve watched this clip over 182 times.
This knocks me out it's so heavy! Maybe the most powerful funk band assembled since the 1971 JBs or the original Headhunters. RIP SPANKY!
Agreed!!!!!!!
Man I used to drive Spanky around town. We broke bread many many times... good dude.
Spanky was a gift from God***
finding musicians this dedicated to keeping the pocket is so hard nowadays 😞 no one is overplaying every one is locked into their role. Pino had 2 licks that u could’ve missed if you weren’t paying attention, but the dynamic is just unreal. I don’t even think I was born yet.
R&B's greatest bass player .
Pino hitting that bass drop at 1:52 is one of my favorite bass licks in a live show ever.
great to hear this live with a good live stereo recording!!!! Thanks for sharing
Can ya'll hear Anthony Hamilton all over the background vocals?
Infinite1MM I just said the same thing. Yessah, saaaaaaang soultronics!
Kuntry,lol.
All sorts of wild. D's one of those artists that makes you feel lucky for being alive to see.
i’m just sad i wasn’t born in 2000 to actually see this live and in 2015 i was young and kinda uneducated when it comes music, but now, i’m more than readyyyy 🥰
@@4theluvofyou I remember when the "How Does it Feel?" video premiered. I thought the track was alright. Started listening to him again a few years back and I appreciate his work now more than ever.
Pino! Brings me to tears
The best concert I have ever attended! Goosebumps watching this again!
Frank Lacy KILLIN it on trombone, I got to see him a couple months ago, he's still just as badass!
Some of the best music around in the last 20 years!
yo ?questlove snare is so nasty!!!!!!
IM SO JEALOUS THAT I WASN'T THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lucky to be able to watch this years later. D’Angelo is an National treasure
I was d’Angelos Trainer on the Voodoo Tour!! Amazing memories!
Wow, you trained a legend?
Man do I miss this kind of music
This particular concert is a major milestone in funk history. An awesome benchmark.
Spanky Alford. He's one of the fonky ass guitar players and he actually played guitar on several of D'angelo's records.
i wish D'Angelo had several records
I KNEW THAT WAS FRANK LACY ON BONE!!! GO 'HEAD, KUUMBA!!! ROOTS!!!
This concert was awesome!! I still have the t-shirt from this weekend...
Frank Lacy is my favorite trombonist EVER.. Even over Fred Wesley.
love him as well, saw him with Art Blakey in the late 80's

3:58 he slaps a lil bit
I ain't ever heard Pino Slap. This guy, man.... PINO all day...
anybody know where this groove is from? D'angelo would mash classic basslines into his own tunes to play live- plus anthony hamilton is all over this!!
