This amp is no joke. Installed in a 2009 Toyota Venza, stock head unit, stock speakers and powering 2 12" L5 kicker subs. Loud and so clear is the sound quality
I'll only use products that I think are solid and would use myself. There are many offers I turn down from various companies because I don't really believe in the product.
Mark, utilizing a AC 4140i mic with an I-Pad, big build in June, need serious RTA and mic. Must choose between a AC SA3052a and CM145 mic, or NTI XL2 RTA.......would appreciate your opinion.....thought I would bring this subject up since you appear to have the integrity for quality equipment, plus it will be a substantial monetary expense nti audio.com
@caraudiofabrication We just attended audio control training and the instructor was excited to announce that this video had 7k views! Also parts are made in china and final testing is done in the usa
Reminds me of the pyramid guitar scene on Tenacious D Pick of Destiny when he showed the pick and then showed under the hood of this amp with all the wonderful crossover and tweak settings. This is a nice amp. Very well thought out and high quality. It has to b made in America.
I have used Audio Control for years (like 20 or so) and every component I have purchased is still functioning either in my own vehicles or sold as used to others. Top shelf stuff for sure. I am interested in how they do as an amplifier manufacturer. All the stuff I have owned were eq/crossovers or signal processors because of back in the day installs that were lacking in that department. I have a three way system with 3 high current amps. Tweeter and Mid amps: Aria HC50 from before Memphis brand name change and Old school Autotek Mean Machine HC 100 watt cheater for JL 12w6 subs. All mid tweets are old school German MB Quart components (4 QM 160.03 sets). I am using an Alpine Multimedia station deck into a Audio Control 1/3 octave stereo eq then a Fultron true 3 way stereo crossover and then Audio Control Epic 160 for bass signal tweaking. Power is provided via a 12 farad super cap bank and 3 optima batteries charged with a dual output 200 amp alternator. If my Epic 160 db meter is correct it occasionally hits 150 db spl. The current draw peaks upward of the 200 amp range. Install is 10 years old and speakers still sound great. I am in need of replacing the Fultron crossover as I know it is the weak link. My component sets are without passive crossover as I am crossing before amplification, but iI was hoping that you would be able to suggest a better crossover alternative. Thanks
Wow this amp isn't quite as costly as I was expecting. I was anticipating 900-1200 range but seeing it for 700 on crutchfield. Not exactly something that would fit in a budget budget build, but I'm impressed. I wonder how it would deal with limited cooling spaces like being behind a seat like in a single cab pickup or 2 seat car.
Can you use this on a factory system that already has a Bose amplifier. I have a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro RS and want to keep the factory system on the dash, since it is integrated into the cars system.
I wonder how much it is? You can run all your interior speakers and two subs. Will make for a simple clean, well tuned system. With one amp. Awesome product.
I have a couple of questions if any one can answered I would really appreciateit. What is summing and how you bridge channel 5/6 for a subwoofer? Thank you I have this amp, I installed it my self and I love it. It is super clean. I recommend.
Hey man I just installed one of these on a 2013 Mercedes E CLASS I loved it and the sound that came out of it was so nice. I also like to use the LC6 and LC8.
First I have to say thank you very much for the great videos. They give me the courage to do it all myself. And since I couldn't afford the install. I'd just have to have a crappy install without these vids. Now. Is that my next amp? Hmmmmm...... I'm gonna have to go check the specs to find out. Was just standing here drinking a coffee and thinking of a way to do an active 3 way front stage without a DSP. I'm going with all home HiFi gear like possibly an all Scan-Speak setup. Revelator 7 inch in the doors. Air Circ tweet in the A pillars, and some sort of 3 to 4 inch driver next to it for a high mid. I'm running an Alpine UTE-62BT w/ a PPI 900.5 and a 12 inch Polk sub in a vented box. With B2 Audio components for now. I need to step up my game.🤓
This would be an excellent way to do a three way up front with no DSP. If you look closely for channels 3/4 there are two crossover dials, you can run a bandpass crossover on these channels, you could also do a highpass on 1/2 and low pass on e 5/6.
CarAudioFabrication What's funny is I was staring rather intently at the controls to see what it had, hoping it was something like that, or even an onboard DSP. Since it's AudioControl and once I caught a quick glimpse of that bandpass switch. I definitely got more excited then a grown man should get, over consumer electronics. BTW you wanted ideas for the video. I'd love to know about the sound quality of it. Maybe even swap it into an existing high end setup with a similar wattage amp and compare. Especially if it were a high end SQ amp, like maybe a Zapco, or Mosconi for instance. Or a nice Alpine even. Ooh or maybe a........ See what I mean. Way too excited. I think I may have a problem.
Would that be a good amp to bi-amp a 2 way component set for up front and a set of rear coaxial speakers? And if so, can you show a demo of how you would wire it and do a proper tune.
I just added 2 6x9 in my rear deck of my Cruze instead of replacing the back door speakers. I've noticed that the mid bass really isn't there. Should I make a box for my 2 6x9 to increase the mid bass and to protect them from my sub?
Doesn’t it have all pass setting for each channel so you can use it with a dsp? Fully defeat-able high pass and low pass filters for those who don't wish to use the onboard active crossovers (already using DSP). 2ch/4ch/6ch selector switch (No RCA splitters will ever be needed).? Does it have these features?
How is it in terms of sound quality? Can it be compared to something I know, like HELIX P SIX DSP MK2? Is there only 12dB/oct and 24dB/oct? And the others? What about time correction? Which connection method can be used with android multimedia? It is important that the sound is not processed from android. How to connect then? By bluetooth? No optics? With optics it's like a clean signal as far as I know. I don't understand English very well, so please forgive any inaccuracies. Thank you
Can you use only this amplifier in a jeep wrangler with the following setup. Two 3.5-inch speakers in the instrument panel Two 4.5-inch front door speakers Two 3.5-inch sound bar speakers Two 4.5-inch sound bar subwoofers One 10-inch quad voice coil subwoofer
Hey, Mark, love your videos. My question is...what would be a great amp and how would you hookup a 4 rockford fosgate door speakers and two 10 inch shallow mount Rockford fosgate subs in a ported or vented downfire fox acoustic enclosure? Do i go with a 6 channel amp or what? I'm confused
Good day , I was wondering what type/brand of speakers would you recommend to run this amp as a full range power system. I already have 2 JL 10w6v2 for bass. Please advise, thanks.
Would an amp like this work for a car that uses some wonky fiber optic system to communicate with the on board factory amplifiers? For example, something like a 2006 Saab 9-3?
I didn't found in links you have what class this amp is.Assuming from size this is a class D amp and from experience they are going too hot in high levels plus that overload led is going to blink often (always with recommended speakers and settings).Waiting for your review.
I am in the market for a 6 channel amp for a three way front but want to use a sound processor/dsp and this amp doesn't appear to allow full range amplification for all 3 sets of outputs. A dsp has better control over slopes and I don't want to have the amp apply its own crossover filters in addition.
Mystic Cranberry They have models that have a dsp built in. Even in the 6 channel. Audio Control rocks. I have equipment from that are 16 years or older and still work like new. There products are rock solid. They also have a Fantastic DSP that works flawlessly if you have these models without the DSP built in.
Mystic Cranberry I'd assume like with most full range amps you can flick a switch somewhere (or one would hope) to switch between full range, hi/Lo or bandpass filter on each channel
i am looking for a 4 channel amp with at least 100 watts rms per channel and a high and mid bass cross over, any body seen such? i rather have a seperate amp for the bass.
JL AUDIO HD 150x4 RMS......kinda pricey but worth every penny! Not to many component speakers can handle that type of power efficiently. I suggest JBL 660 GTI. $499.99 at Sonic. JBL 670gti is the same speaker but has a 2 piece cross over and is $900. Circle file the CO. Go active. trust me, its sonic bliss!!!!!!!
Did I spot potential band pass crossovers to run active components from the amp? What crossover slope options are there? Is it a class d? (Looks too small to be ab but had to ask)
Yes, 3 way active is an option. Channels 1/2 have a HP, channels 3/4 have a HP/BP, and channels HP/LP. You can check out the product page at www.audiocontrol.com for specific details.
I know channels 5/6 say sub on them. But could I use them for rear deck 6x9? I plan to have components in front and rear doors along with 6x9 in rear deck.

alex rose I agree brother. 👍 In my opinion, the AB's offer a more flat response, which is more accurate at sound reproduction. Class D's are ok for subs. Everything above 60hz I stick with AB.
I paid 1300 (tax, labor and parts) for a kenwood excelon xr 400-4 and 4 xr 1800p speakers to my factory radio. I dont hate it but I feel my acura ELS factory system sounded better. any way to improve it? I dont have a separate dsp and I have hissing (they said they couldn't ground the amp which I feel is bullshit for 1.3K)
PiterStreak damn talk about the numbers lol i have almost 3k into my car audio... i used to say "who the eff spends so much money on car audio?" look at me now... almost over 3k into my system... did the install myself though. i guess you would include time into it aswell? lol most of the cost was sound deadening though.

This amp is not the same size nor has the same power rating as the arc audio 6 channel amp. The audio control amp also some features such as the Accu bass that the arc audio does not. You might have noticed that the crossovers and processing features are on top of this amp and are on the side of the arc audio.
This is the same Arc Amp XDI 1200.6. Yes, it`s reconfigured by Arc for Audio Control to include their feature set but it`s the same. Take a look at the owners manual for both amps and you`ll see that the trouble shooting lights configuration are the same and all of the connections are the same.
I hate those kind of speaker connections that AudioControl has. Those set screws always come loose. I wonder if there is a connector that fits in the amp, that you can crimp or solder your connections to. In a moving, vibrating vehicle with lots of bass, those screws WILL back off.
I can see if they want to continue including these connectors with their equipment, but at least offer a more solid connector, even if it is sold separately.
Hello can I use or combine an LC 2 with a Different61200. I just have a focal set up.in my truck with the D61200 bit I'm not impressed with the sound for such a speaker set up...i was thinking to add an line output converter to get a better sound...is that overkill.?

I need this answer
This amp is no joke. Installed in a 2009 Toyota Venza, stock head unit, stock speakers and powering 2 12" L5 kicker subs. Loud and so clear is the sound quality
damn amps have came a long way from back in the day

In what configuration would I use my Epicenter with this amplifier? After? I suppose off the output rca channels?
curious as well
Space saving, work saving, no more cable mess. Pretty decent power, does it have a built in fan?
I have a active 4 way HU, can I use this amp in 3 way component in “full pass” without the internal crossover?
First I have to say thank you very much for the great videos. They give me the courage to do it all myself. And since I couldn't afford the install. I'd just have to have a crappy install without these vids.

Raymond Holmes ditch the rear speakers lol
I think it would be good to run channels 1+2 to tweeters 3+4 to woofers and 5+6 to subwoofer. No rear speakers just the subwoofer.
Great content.can you use all 6channels for 6 individual 6.5" coaxial speakers instead of 2 channels for subs?
How would you wire up a three way speaker set up with this amp?
When is this gonna be released? Crutchfield is taking pre-orders now.
Will this amp fit on the Jeep Wrangler underseat amp rack (JL Audio Stealthbox amp rack)?
Does this has built in DSP??
Nice review Mark 😃
Check the Mosconi Gladen One series amplifiers. They have amplifiers with built in processor.
Are you going to review the Audison too?
what is the max and lowest ohms for the 6 channels will the sub channel handle lower then 2 ohm?
Will this amplifier work with my Rockford fosgate p3d2-10

nice video as always! off topic though, what brand is that hoodie that you have on?
Im super stressed about getting this amp vs a jl audio 6 channel which one should i go with

Hey Mark, when you do the full review, can you hook up every option this beauty can do? Where can one buy one?
I would be especially interested in the 3 way component configuration
Everyone's hating on Phoenix connectors. They're awesome if you terminate them properly. Y'all need to learn to use ferrules.
I didn't found in links you have what class this amp is.Assuming from size this is a class D amp and from experience they are going too hot in high levels plus that overload led is going to blink often (always with recommended speakers and settings).Waiting for your review.
i got 3 jbl gt5 12 in a sealed box , will 1 JL audio w7 8" be loud as these in a ported box
can you run 8 speakers active and a sub with this amp? 2 sets of component speakers and a sub?
would like to see the guts. something to compare this with other amps internals.
Can I combine this amp with audiocontrols epicentre?
I am in the market for a 6 channel amp for a three way front but want to use a sound processor/dsp and this amp doesn't appear to allow full range amplification for all 3 sets of outputs. thank you very much, those are far out my budget for my x5 build but its a lead in the right direction.
No problem, your welcome
jose miguel henriquez audiopipe has some good amps at good prices
Check out the 4 channel version of this amp: www.audiocontrol.com/car-audio/power-amplifiers/lc-4800/
4 x 125 @ 4 ohms
Did I spot potential band pass crossovers to run active components from the amp? What crossover slope options are there?

same answer im looking for
is it also a dsp? i would like to a combination of 2 , like a 5/6channel amp with 4x75watt rms and a 400 watt rms sub channel and a build in dsp
I believe a DSP integrated version is in the works. :P
What are RMS power ratings and THD?
John Schoenrock ROOT MEANS SQUARE, it's a formula for true constant. THD is total harmonic distortion usually associated with S/n ratio. Above 1% can be audible to some listeners.
thx, i know what it means, i was hoping some one could inform of those specs on the amp Mark was profiling
just visited AC site, Da, my bad!!!!
John Schoenrock high end Audio can take many many hours. The secrets lye in understanding your hearing and acoustics
Is this amp class D? Looking to integrate with my 2018 Harley 2018 Road Glide
This channel is awesome and lots of tips but I have noticed you don't do to much with alpine products
Mark, is this a Class D or Class AB amp?
Danny Caballero Class D
Danny Caballero if only it was class AB i would get one for my fathers truck...
pop032292 Seems to be the norm of making Class D amps these days. I don't mind using it on subs but anything above 60hz, it's gotta be a Class AB amp for me. Just my preference.
Danny Caballero class ab seems smoother from my experience, I ran an alpine pdx d class and focal fpp4100 ab on the same components in my car and the ab amp too the cake for sure, definitely a must for the highs, haven't been able to try a comparison for bass
alex rose I agree brother. 👍 In my opinion, the AB's offer a more flat response, which is more accurate at sound reproduction. Class D's are ok for subs. Everything above 60hz I stick with AB.
Rad, Waiting for the full review.... ready yet...
how about now?
Lol, nope!
Finally no more remote wire.
If I use this amp do I still need an lc2i/lc7i?
No, that's the advantage here with this amp, the integration components are built in.
where can i buy? i am from DUBAI

U need an LC. Too get better sound
Just put a connection demo plz
Rockford and JL will suffer from AudioControl new amp sales. AudioControl amps sound cleaner, look better, run cooler and have a better damping factor and slew rate.
It's not a bad piece. Sadly, I'm still not a fan on the plugs they like to use and Audison still has a better software. This is definitely a consumer grade piece over pro.
gooooooooood
This is a rebranded Arc Audio amp so why not just buy the original.
I wonder why audio control would do since they make their own eq's? I use AD Design amps myself.
The arc amp is more money. That's why.
I hate those kind of speaker connections that AudioControl has. Those set screws always come loose. I wonder if there is a connector that fits in the amp, that you can crimp or solder your connections to. In a moving, vibrating vehicle with lots of bass, those screws WILL back off.
Mikey I love the piece and did in fact tell AC this personally at the show here in Vegas. What a pain in the ass!
