Hearing Steve laugh from the "contract negotiations gone wrong" line from Larson is why I watch these two. They always bring a smile to my face and it's so heartwarming to see them be so entertaining.
SatiRICKal Mankind, and Foley in general, is literally my all time favorite wrestler to this day, and has been since the late 90's...God, everything he did was so good man.
I keep re-playing your live stream reactions to end of Lesnar v Goldberg match!!! The shock on your faces was priceless!! LARSON: Stunned and speechless STEVE: oh my god... oh my god... oh my god... holly fuck!! what da fuck just happened!! What just happened.. * tapping Larson on the shoulder * LARSON: I have to wear a slap nuts shirt! hahah you guys are great!!! Shout out from AUSTRALIA!! PS thanx for giving me a mention in the live stream!! :P
I’m with you guys 💯 %. A WM 29 main featuring Rock v Punk v Cena was best for business. If it had to be a 1v1 it should of been Punk. But by having it a straight rematch v Cena, everyone knew at that point Cena was getting his win back from 28 so there was absolutely zero drama to the match. Insert Punk in the match could of made it one of the best triple threat matches in mania history. Punk would of been much happier and probably doesn’t retire , Rock doesn’t get hurt and possibly wrestles more going forward , and everyone wins! (Except Cena, which is why it didn’t happen)
Just a mention for #9, I can't say that I enjoyed the "Kane vs. Undertaker" Match @ Wrestlemania XX, but it has a special place in my memory. It is one of the earliest memories that I actually have from wrestling. Anything prior to this I vaguely remember, but my memory was restored through the WWE Network. But this was the first moment that I, as a kid, vividly remember seeing the Undertaker for the first time. I remember the fear that I had during the entrances of The Druids, and Paul Bearer before seeing the Undertaker. I have been an Undertaker fan since that moment, reliving many of his moments through the Network.
I'm so glad that you guys changed the count down to this format and put it on the pod cast store so I can listen to it at work or wherever I am. Love listening to you guys. Make it fun and don't try too hard like some other places. Cough whatculture cough.
On that CM Punk note I have to say that one thing about todays WWE champions is once they lose the belt it seems they can easily disappear within the roster. Theirs just no presence of a real champion
I love when you guys get to the Rock Mankind match and Steve is going over all the silly spots and Larson seems to slowly changing his opinion on whether he likes this match or not. Hilarious.
I've come to enjoy your channel and have been binging videos all day today. My only complaint is i always have to turn my headphones down, you guys are almost yelling at certain points. Still dig the videos though.
i was shocked after reading your comment growing up watching hogan i nearly piss myself it sounded that ridicules but i was wrong and you right some of his moves are really good and seeing him pull out submissions like that really makes me question why wwf and wcw didnt use him to his full ability
Regarding the Luger/Perfect feud that never happened, this was around the time that Radio WWF debuted, a weekly radio call in show. It became pretty obvious over the weeks following Wrestlemania that if a feud between Luger and Perfect did happen that the fans would not have supported Lex. I imagine that Vince decided not to put Luger in a position where he wouldn't be seen as the All American good guy.
Bret vs Austin vs Taker vs Vader was the 4-way and it was for the title. Then Bret lost the title to Sid the next night after Austin cheap shotted him while he had Sid in the Sharpshooter.
I like how they said that Piper vs Mr T was bad because no one could throw a punch, yet Piper was a Golden Glove winner. Maybe he was trying to make it a work or something. Plus he was known for throwing some punches while out on the town so he clearly knew how to use his hands lol
CORRECTION: Mr. T had been a wrestling champion in High School while Roddy Piper was a legitimate former Golden Gloves champion boxer! When it came to Wrestlemania 2, you can see that for all Mr.T's "big talk" he was winded by the end of the second round! Piper looks furious over the fact that the "celebrity" didn't even bother to get in shape to last 3 ROUNDS! Roddy was fed up with the whole thing by that point!
Nick Patrick botched the count at Starcade '97. He was supposed to do a fast count, but he forgot. You can say Sting screwed up by not kicking out when he realized Patrick fucked up too I guess.
I remember as soon as they announced Cena vs Rock 2 i started calling it Twice in a Lifetime as well cause it was just so stupid after they pushed once in a lifetime down our throats the previous year.
I totally watched The Main Event in February 1988 live and remember how unreal it was. I'm a Savage guy anyway, didn't really care about Hogan. Isn't this episode still the highest rated wrestling show in TV history? Nevermind, Larson confirmed it in the Top 10 best rematches list.
Go back and watch Kane and Undertaker at Summerslam 2000. The whole match is just Undertaker trying to rip Kane's mask off. and he actually succeeds! It was the first Kane unmasking.
thing is at mania 10 luger was suppose to beat yoko and face bret in the final match and win...but luger got in trouble for going out telling people he was gonna be the champion and taking pictures with the title so they changed the finishes to have yoko beat lex and bret beat yoko
you guys should consider putting your podcasts on Spotify! Unfortunately I have an android phone and don't have access to itunes. I think a lot of other people are in the same boat as me...
My prediction for the Brock/Goldberg match? Brock wins with an assist from Heyman. Don't think it will be clean...plus this outcome leaves a WM match wide open.
I'll take the fun of Hogan vs. Andre over any modern wrestling. You guys should know that in-ring ability doesn't mean shit. Charisma, mic work, storytelling, getting over with the crowd....that's what wrestling should be about.
That was Triple H who said that during a DX promo, but I wouldn't call it a rematch because of the different story involved. With Warrior-Hogan we knew it was a follow-up to their surprising Mania classic.
Hogan vs Andre was a bad match in ring, but the story was good and set up a lot of good shit. GO back and watch Andre's suplex to end the match. It is so bad it's good.
Well, in wrestling you can pick up from anytime. Most of the people from 2006 are long gone except Cena, lesnar, Foley is a GM, and Shane is a GM, but I would say to watched the first raw after the 2016 draft, that would be the last week in July RAW.
The 'fallout' of the current stories started in 2014 irrc. Thats when most of the current main eventer started to blow up in WWE. Although 2015 is kinda of a mix bag year. So yea, I say start from Battleground 2016 onwards since thats when WWE starting to sort themselves and slowly but surely getting better. Just watch every PPV starting with Battleground 2016, the final two weeks of Raw and SD before Survivor Series then SS.
I consider Shawn vs. Bret at Survivor Series (1997) to be a great match to watch. It was such a brawl most of the time, that it actually worked narratively to have that kind of finish.
Jim hit me with the racket when I was sitting front row ring side in Charlottesville and I wasn't part of any script. Happened in the 80s I was 12 or 13 years old and he hit me in the chest oh &-by the way I was born with a heart condition.
It was the best thing they could have done, and that softens Brock up for Shane at mania. And just because it wasn't a 15min match of suplex city, yawn. (I am tired just typing about that boring ass city.) does not mean it wasn't good.
Nonsense! The 1st match was so much worse - Fans expected an equivalence of what Ishii and Shibata did in 2013 - a short but explosive match. Instead they got a near 14 minute bore-fest. This time, they just cut out the filler and went for the kill.
Yeah, the thing is the ref that counted the fall on Sting in 97 was supposed to do it much faster, but apparently Hogan told him to do it slower for some reason, thus the whole "fast count" thing felt so tacked on.
Hearing Steve laugh from the "contract negotiations gone wrong" line from Larson is why I watch these two. They always bring a smile to my face and it's so heartwarming to see them be so entertaining.
They call Earl Hebner the evil twin in 88 and then he proves them right 9 years later at Survivor Series.
Warrior graduated at the top of his class in the Hulk Hogan School of No Selling.
I remember Warrior no selling a pedigree from HHH when HHH was just a jobber.
"top 10 worst (something)' always has a warrior pic...not that it's a problem
Hellwig was responsible for a lot of bad things. Inadvertently, and totally advertently.
contract negotiations gone wrong
Now I agree with this list. Dishonourable mentions every nikki bella vs Paige match
The simultaneous "...who WAS the NWO ref!" gets me every time.
You're wrong about that Rock vs Mankind match, it was awesome. EVERYTHING those two did was great such chemistry!
SatiRICKal Mankind, and Foley in general, is literally my all time favorite wrestler to this day, and has been since the late 90's...God, everything he did was so good man.
Great call guys, these videos are much better as a conversation.
I keep re-playing your live stream reactions to end of Lesnar v Goldberg match!!! The shock on your faces was priceless!!
LARSON: Stunned and speechless
STEVE: oh my god... oh my god... oh my god... holly fuck!! what da fuck just happened!! What just happened.. * tapping Larson on the shoulder *
LARSON: I have to wear a slap nuts shirt!
hahah you guys are great!!! Shout out from AUSTRALIA!!
PS thanx for giving me a mention in the live stream!! :P
Steve saying someone has to be the heel when using ouija boards is the funniest quote I've heard in a while
I’m with you guys 💯 %. A WM 29 main featuring Rock v Punk v Cena was best for business. If it had to be a 1v1 it should of been Punk. The Rock vs Mankind in an Empty Arena was the greatest Empty Arena match of all time!
2-Sweet Friendos!
last few times I've watched wwe, I feel like every match is a failed contract negotiation
I loved the “Rock vs Mankind, Empty Arena Match,” lota fun!!!
On that CM Punk note I have to say that one thing about todays WWE champions is once they lose the belt it seems they can easily disappear within the roster. Theirs just no presence of a real champion
Only one I have to go against is the Mankind and Rock match
Cena vs orton a thousand times boring
Bitcherino Nicherino They put on just as many good matches as they did bad, but they wrestled so damn many times that it started to ruin the product.
Sheamus vs Orton may also be included
Which one of the thousand times they met are you referring to though?
Christy Pankhurst all of em
+Elbribri Wow is that comment stupid. Ow the edge.
The Halftime Heat match was a masterpiece.
lol when you guys said you were doing this list yesterday, I instantly knew what was going to be #1.
I love when you guys get to the Rock Mankind match and Steve is going over all the silly spots and Larson seems to slowly changing his opinion on whether he likes this match or not. Hilarious.
I get the vibe that Steve & Larson awkwardly made out with each other at least one time in their life when they was young......
I AM GROOT!!!!! ?
more of this scoops stuff omg this is hysterical
that Diy rematch from last night should go on your yesterday list MATCH OF THE YEAR
Yeah it was GREAT
Where do we get the Steve And Larson merch?
i love the new format but I'd love it even better if you put it up as a regular top ten on here or machinima.
I agree with the Rock vs CM Punk. That was bullshit, CM Punk was the best thing going for WWE.
I've come to enjoy your channel and have been binging videos all day today. My only complaint is i always have to turn my headphones down, you guys are almost yelling at certain points. Still dig the videos though.
Watch Hogan in Japan, much better wrestler than you think.
Probably because the Japanese wouldn't put up with his bull shit.
That and he wasn't limited to doing just 4 moves like Vince wanted.
Jeremy Wheeler Still not better than decent.
and he was a legit heal for legit koing inoki with an axe bomber
i was shocked after reading your comment growing up watching hogan i nearly piss myself it sounded that ridicules but i was wrong and you right some of his moves are really good and seeing him pull out submissions like that really makes me question why wwf and wcw didnt use him to his full ability
Pretty sure hogan asked sting "who's the man " in Superbrawl VIII match , not I'm the man
The lead up to Kane vs Undertaker was excellent. The payoff *strange meh sound*
You should add honorable mentions to these lists but they're awesome
Piper was a golden glove champion everybody knows that how the fuck do they not
Because they are generally clueless.
love the new format mr.t was a bouncer and won a competition call worlds toughest bouncer
Regarding the Luger/Perfect feud that never happened, this was around the time that Radio WWF debuted, a weekly radio call in show. I'M THE MAN!!!! I'M THE MAN BROTHER!!!! BLOCK PARTY!!!!!.... S&L, you'll get that one.
"I'm gonna be in jail for animal cruelty. Why? Because I'm gonna beat you like a BITCH!" - CM Punk
Looking back in 2023.....look at all that hair!! 😂😂😂
Piper probably intentionally made the match look bad, since he hates Mr T.
Roddy was fed up with the whole thing by that point!
we got a new number 1 for this list........
Nick Patrick botched the count at Starcade '97. He was supposed to do a fast count, but he forgot. You can say Sting screwed up by not kicking out when he realized Patrick fucked up too I guess.
I remember as soon as they announced Cena vs Rock 2 i started calling it Twice in a Lifetime as well cause it was just so stupid after they pushed once in a lifetime down our throats the previous year.

you guys should consider putting your podcasts on Spotify! Unfortunately I have an android phone and don't have access to itunes. I think a lot of other people are in the same boat as me...
Alec Rants Play Music has it.that's how I've been listening
You guys have the best voices.
yokozuna was completely gassed out soon into the match. So he skipped the whole middle part of the match straight to the end
Wish you guys would show clips during the podcast..
Why weren't Bret and Owen on the best rematch list?
They probably felt that their Mania match was better (which I feel is true.)
AL Snow vs Big BossMan Dog Kennel From Hell Match should be a dishonorable mention on if you have those
I feel like with all the scoops mentions he should be a 3rd person on these podcasts
"It's not plagiarism if you flat-out admit you're reading out what some other guy wrote."
RIP Harrembay
Deathwish Cassidy harambe
agree with this list great work guys.
My prediction for the Brock/Goldberg match? Brock wins with an assist from Heyman. Don't think it will be clean...plus this outcome leaves a WM match wide open.
I'M THE MAAAAAN!
I'll take the fun of Hogan vs. Andre over any modern wrestling. You guys should know that in-ring ability doesn't mean shit. Charisma, mic work, storytelling, getting over with the crowd....that's what wrestling should be about.
Totally man, wrestling is the last thing I think about when I think about wrestling.
they did not repay anyone at anytime , how in '98 we're WCW suppose to actually pay anyone back
"Blah" at Trump all you want, still handed hiLLary that big L!
How is Hogan vs. Piper in the "Age in the Cage" (as Jim Ross put it) match not on this list?
That was Triple H who said that during a DX promo, but I wouldn't call it a rematch because of the different story involved. With Warrior-Hogan we knew it was a follow-up to their surprising Mania classic.
Dave was obviously too pure a soul to punch someone and hogan knew it
I like that Steve and larson have lots of subs now but I feel they've lost a lot of the fun they used to have
Hogan vs Andre was a bad match in ring, but the story was good and set up a lot of good shit. GO back and watch Andre's suplex to end the match. It is so bad it's good.
If I haven't followed wrestling since 2006ish
What would realistically be the best way to catch up and know exactly what's going on?
Well, in wrestling you can pick up from anytime. Most of the people from 2006 are long gone except Cena, lesnar, Foley is a GM, and Shane is a GM, but I would say to watched the first raw after the 2016 draft, that would be the last week in July RAW.

I wonder if Lesnar vs Goldberg will make this list after what happened tonight.
Piper was a boxer and amateur wrestler before he became a professional wrestler
top 10 best and worst wrestlemanias
The screwjob is in the worst list? Taker vs Kane at WM 20 was a great match as well
other than those 2, great list
he threw the ref out he found money in his back pocket when he grabbed him
after seeing the behind the mat doc, and seeing mick's wife & kids, I can't watch the I quit match
It happened 7.5 years ago
Kane vs taker no holds barred???
I grew up hating hogan since I only started watching around 98 so I always booed him
Downvoted for putting Halftime Heat in the list. Great match.
Mr. T was Ali's bodyguard...
I consider Shawn vs. Bret at Survivor Series (1997) to be a great match to watch. It was such a brawl most of the time, that it actually worked narratively to have that kind of finish.
Bret Hart won it at that PPV then lost it to Sid the next night.
Ouija Boards are not toys, guys. They are dangerous.
😂😂😂
I'M THE MAAAAN!!
I think I would like this show alot better if it was capped at 30 minutes. Don't always have time to watch a nearly hour long video.
Hogan wrestler way better when he was in Japan.
For the Love of god someone tell Larson to stop popping his "P"s when he says "Nope" and "Yep"
Jim hit me with the racket when I was sitting front row ring side in Charlottesville and I wasn't part of any script. Happened in the 80s I was 12 or 13 years old and he hit me in the chest oh &-by the way I was born with a heart condition.
Yup you can add Goldberg vs lesnar 2 on this list
Aivo Smith no way dude I LOVE when I can't predict a match. I LOVED Goldberg vs. Lesner II
If they did wrestle it will be much worse.
It was the best thing they could have done, and that softens Brock up for Shane at mania. And just because it wasn't a 15min match of suplex city, yawn. (I am tired just typing about that boring ass city.) does not mean it wasn't good.

What’s wrong with big meaty men slapping meat for 10 minutes?
no. 5 was a work....
24:42 best part
Bret Hart beat Undertaker for the belt at Summer Slam1997
Halloween Haveshit. Hogan fucks up.
I understand u guys want to make more money, buy Top 10 lists are supposed to be quick..
Sid shit his pants at mania 13
all those steroids Rock
Yeah, the thing is the ref that counted the fall on Sting in 97 was supposed to do it much faster, but apparently Hogan told him to do it slower for some reason, thus the whole "fast count" thing felt so tacked on.
John cena is my one favorite wwe super star
Wcw saturday night the best show
Mr. T was an amateur wrestler
