We had an amazing time using your tips in Athens and Santorini. Started seeing things close on the island and the locals all telling us they were leaving October 31. Happy we got to see the “local” side of Greece rather than tourist side. I’ll be making videos on my channel when I get all my thoughts sorted out😅 thank you Sebastian!
Thank you very much for your videos. We used them to prepare our trip to Athens last month. They were very helpful and also the recommend trips were great!
Your videos proved super useful for our trip to greece. We had a great time.Thank you so much!
Thank you for the reassurance, we Will be coming to Athens at the end of November
and it’s great to hear that most places operate in the winter in the city!
We will definitely check out your tour schedule !!!
You got me through Athens in May and Santorini in October, Sebastian. To infinity and beyond, I thank you! 💙
Ευχαριστώ πολύ 😊
Please do a video on where to watch the New Years fireworks in Athens! 😀
We are going at the beginning of December, so excited. :)
I’m coming at beginning of March to Athens. Santorini hoping at the end of September….always has been a dream to see Santorini.
We did a day trip from Athens to Aegina in January there is an excellent temple-only still standing double arches from classic person-didn’t need to preplan at all just take subway to piraeus 45-minute boat ride. Had temple to ourselves played hide and seek
I wonder if you organize any side trip to Delphi and Meteora in December? If not, where to go?
What is your pricing to help me plan out a experience ? I am headed to Athens next week.
Thank you so much for your videos - they have been very helpful in planning my upcoming trip to Greece! You mentioned that the first Sunday of the month is free for certain museums and sites. Do you know where I can find a list of which museums and sites are included? Thanks again!
All archeological sites are free.
And regarding museums, for sure the Acropolis Museum and the National Archeological Museum. For the other (smaller) museums, I'm not sure.
Do we still have to book them online or just get there on Sunday? I am visiting Greece this week and staying for 5 days , including Sunday, Feb 4th =) Thanks for your videos!@@GreeceExplained
@@AlessandraDublin It's gonna be free on that day. Free tickets will be given away at the entrance of the sites & museums, no need to book anything online :-)
Be exploring Athens right at the beginning of March next year. Sounds like it might be a less rushed time and that's good all by itself.
Thinking of coming in mid April. Is it possible to go to Mykonos as I would like to see Delos? Enjoy your videos. Very helpful.
Yes the tours from Mykonos to Delos start April 1st !
This is the one I recommend : www.getyourguide.com/mykonos-l472/delos-rhenia-islands-6-hour-boat-trip-from-mykonos-t123464/?partner_id=OMW3ALO&mkt_cmp=true
I'll be posting an in depth review of this tour later this winter.
We are planning to visit Athens next 2 weeks. As we are a little bit underground people ( we love to discover new caves or mines, which we saw a lot already), and I saw, that below city you have Peania Cave Koutouki, which looks beautiful! I know, that people visits Athens from different reasons, but I'm a little bit suprised, not much people are talking about this place. I also saw Kapsia Cave about 150 km on west side from Athens, and on the road there I found attractions like Mykeny, Larissa Castle Argos or Akrokorynt, which looks also very nice to visit for one day trip by car. Any opinion on that?
Never been, sorry !
If you want to discover caves or mines, then you should go Samaria Crete, Ioannina cave, Kalavryta cave
Hi Seb, I'm planning Athens - Crere Santorini - Mykonos in the first 2 weeks of March 2024.
Can I rely on March 2023 ferry schedule to get an idea about what to expect in March 2024 or is Dec 2024 ferry schedule a better bet?
Dec 2023 is a better bet :-)
Hello Seb, great video we are thinking to come to Athens 21st March how is the weather in March what area in Athens to good stay for food and drink and going out maybe the beach?
15-20 degrees. I recommend the same areas as during the summer ! So everything you see in my other videos applies for the winter as well.
Hi Sebastian your videos are so helpful. I want to ask is there a place to store our luggage in Athens airport?
Thx Sharon ! I explain everything in that video : th-cam.com/video/YpOv3_6uEX0/w-d-xo.html
Athens to me is everyday, winter is excellent for sightseeing
Athens is so beautiful. we were there in the summer & there were some lovely small taverns with bouzouki player singing. can you find these also in winter in Athens?
Absolutely ! Even more !
thanks for replying. we also went to best places to eat in santorini after seeing your videos. appreciate your work mate. we will definitely like to use your guide skills next time visiting greece.@@GreeceExplained
Hi Sebastian, thank you for your information. I will go to Mykonos from Naxos on 29 Nov 2023. I asked the main ferry companys (Seajets, Fast Ferries, Blue Star and Golden Star Ferries) and they replied no ferries go to Mykonos from Naxos in the winter. Is there any small ferries company operate this route? Or any other method I can go to Mykonos from Naxos? Thank you very much!
Hi ! Check on Ferryhopper.com
If you dont find anything, it means there's nothing.
Thank you. I'm going during November.
Just the right temperature to explore. I love it
How would you say Athens compares to Rome in December (if you’ve been to Rome)? I’m trying to decide where to take my mum and grandma for a week. There’s the option to do both, which involves a bit more travel, which can be tricky with elderly people. My research clearly shows Athens is a lot more affordable. But I wonder if it has the Christmas spirit I’d expect to see in Rome?
Athens doesn't particularly have a "christmas spirit". It's not like Northern Europe with all the Christmas markets etc. In Athens you'll have a few lights and decorations here and there, but that's it. Christmas isn't such a big thing in Greece, Easter is the real deal.
@@GreeceExplained Thanks
How long you recommend to stay in Athens before heading to Santorini?
2 days to see Athens + one day for each day trip you wanna go on (Meteora, Delphi ...)
Hi Sebi! Love your videos :)
I’ll be going for my honeymoon to Athens-Santorini-Mykonos from Apr 5 to 15th.
Will the water be warm enough to swim? And will the beaches be too windy?
Thank you!
Water will be around 16C. For us its too cold but many tourists are already swimming so I guess its okay for some people :-)
Hi Sebi
Can you tell me if the Metro runs on New Years Day (01/01/2024) tried contacting Stasy but they replied with check the web site! 🤨 no info there except for metro stops at 23:00 Hr New Year Eve
Yes it will be running :-)
Can you chase some sun in Crete though in March?
Absolutely !
I will be in Athens. Tell me about your tours. There 20-22 November
Sure ! Email me at sebitheguide@gmail.com
How’s Corfu in late December early January??
No idea sorry
We are planning to visit athens Santorini in the first week of dec for our honeymoon. Do u think its worth it considering weather and activities
Hey ! I answer that in this vid : th-cam.com/video/EhVQBOJLeyk/w-d-xo.html
I would go in the Winter. Hotels are probably cheaper too. How about Skiathos in Winter?
Correct, hotels are cheaper too !
Dont recommend any islands in winter except maybe for Santorini and Crete. Skiathos is gonna be a ghost town.
