If you are a Micro Soft zombie who only uses a computer to play games, well you won't like this computer, why because it probably won't play the big box games today. but if you are a real computer user who does different things and like learning new things, well this little computer may be for you. I haven't had this much fun since building up my C64, Amiga and my 1st 286 computer before Micro Soft made zombies out of all computer users in America, happy the rest of the world saw it coming.
I can confirm it definitely works! And it works very well! You just need to update retroarch in the background so controller one is the keyboard. Easy! I've made a video on social media.. m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=511780723127750&id=100028874816199
N64 games on Batocera are ropey! It's the only ones that don't work great. They run great on Retropie though. On Batocera a lot of games struggle. Goldeneye is a no. I wouldn't recommend Batocera on Pi for N64. Though on Retropie they play well enough.
Mmm difficult to say.. the A500 is more collectible as such but until its released can't say how well the emulation will be. The Raspberry pi is a very good alternative.. plus you can play tons of other machines too..
You should be able to save in game using retroarch. Usually by pressing select or select and start. Select and x. There sometimes is shortcuts allocated too. You'd need to check this out in Retroarch.
I recently brought one of these over clocked it and N64 runs very well now.
It's a really decent machine and pretty cheap. Emulation is generally excellent.
Was gonna get one of these! I love raspberry pi! Everyone I've asked, has told me they really like their pi400...Great vid👾👍👍
Thanks mate, honestly it's superb. Emulation is brilliant. Better than the console x pro. By a mile!
Good to see a good video showing the Pi 400 in more detail 👍
Thanks mate! Got some more coming soon. The emulation on this is possibly the best I've seen. For £90 it's a bargain!
@@CrazyBurger Can you cover some Amiga
Oh yes, that's definitely happening. Plays Amiga extremely well. Even Beneath a steel sky.
@@CrazyBurger Love that game
Loved msr on the Dreamcast. Great thing was it utilised a real time clock so would be racing either day or night dependant on the time
Oh yeah.. I played this game non stop at the time. Super addictive. Loved the music and radio stations too.
@@CrazyBurger yes, could change the radio stations! Awesome game at the time!
@@COUPEDUMMY lol I still play it now.

Semi-related question: Do RetroPie and Batocera offer save-states for games?
Yes they do!
@@CrazyBurger Beauty!
Hi great video!
Can you run World Rally on Batocera?
Didnt worked for me using a pc x64.
Try it using the final burn neo emulator
Would you be able to test Dreamcast "The Typing of the Dead?" I'm curious if the Pi400's keyboard registers as a DC keyboard :)
Definitely, I'm curious myself.

What's it like playing goldeye , wave race and donkey kong N64 games ? Is there any lag?

I love mine but I wish it had 2 micro sd card readers.
Yeah that would've been nice.. you could always use one of the USB sockets to add USB memory sticks or a harddrive maybe.
Are you playing all these games with the keyboard? Or a USB joystick or gamepad?
8bitdo USB Snes controller, works brilliantly! I'm sure you can connect a variety of controllers and most likely where appropriate keyboard and mouse.
I was thinking about getting amiga a500mini do you think this is better .is it more powerful many thanks

Both.. playing with a 8bitdo USB gamepad and the keyboard, mouse where required.
I have decided to get super console X cube got a lot of good reviews on TH-cam and a lot cheaper.as I have got amiga 1200.
How do you save games
Depends what you are using? Batocera?
