Ok guys, so, maybe u should follow more the world cup before posting. Nino Schurter was eating by far the overall after 5 of the 8 week-ends of this cup. Then, to prepare the Olympics, he missed the 6th, letting there 330 possible points (in case of 2 victories). That's the only reason y Hatherly passed him, the withdraw of Nino. Then, yesterday, Nino was in the 1st positions when he had a flat tire and couldn't come back, so, without this and more without missing 1 of the 8 w-e, he'd b still 1st, 100%.
He profited: 1st of the fact that Nino Schurter, leader of the overall after 5 of the 8 w-e of the 2024 world cup, on his way to win it for a record 10th time (9 is already 2 ahead of the 2nd best guy in History) withdraw the 6th one, letting there 330 possible points and passed 2nd 2nd, of the fact that in this Lake Placid's XCO, Nino, in the head of the race then, had a flat tire (as often, sadly for him), and finished far, and so, passed 4th, too far to win the overall.
Been living under a rock have we(she's been here for some time) it's Kate Mason and it's not her first gig as a presenter. I'm kind of meh about her, she does the job.
@@ADVtheMISSIONARY Dude, don't b so rude, so self-centered! Not the entire planet can know every single British journalist (never heard her name, so I checked). I could name u hugely known journalists of my language that tens of millions people know since decades, since way more even than the age of this woman... that u never heard about, and I would'n't at all b surprised, and never would I say something like u say. But I agree about the fact it's a curious question he asks, and as I said, y shouldn't she make this intro, how is that a pb?
GREAT results from the Swiss🇨🇭yesterday! Sina Frei finished 2nd, but I class her 1st tied with Stigger, cause we needed the photo finish to know who won, Frei is 0,00000001 second behind, so, she's the winner as well, let's b honest, after 1h18 of race, when u lose by not even a tenth of second, u won, and rules should b changed, they should put them both on top of the podium, count a victory in career for both, that's unfair for Frei not to. Then, SAME SCENARIO in the men's race, with Colombo finishing 3rd, but by not even a second, and same for Guerrini, 4th. And 3 Swiss guys on the podium with Flückiger 5th.
Ric kept going on about the overall being wrapped up by Hatherly when in reality the men's elite overall race is tighter than the women's elite. I've been giving him time to improve, but I am not hearing any improvement in his commentary. It is actually getting worse. His analysis is superficial. He says things that make no sense. He misses critical aspects of these races.
Disgusted for Nino Schurter, cause he should've win this year his 10th overall (with 9 titles he's anyways already 2 above the 2nd best of History). He was leading after 5 of the 8 week-ends of this season, but then, he decided to withdraw the 6th in order to have more chances to perform at the Olympics, and Fatherly profited that Schurter missed 330 possible points (if he won both races there) to take the lead. Nino passed 2nd. But, bad luck yesterday in the Lake Placid XCO, a flat tire (as it often happens to him) while he was in the head of the race, and so, he's now "only" 4th and can't anymore win the overall.
It was amazing yesterday, the race of flat tires. never saw that much in a race, by far. The brand new circuit of Lake Placid didn't make the best of impressions for its beginnings, lol.
But Schurter had a flat tire, and I don't think u have anything to teach him about mountain biking, considering his just crazy, amazing records. Nobody has nothing to teach him on his spot, he knows everything way better than anyone in History.
@@b.willisfederer8720 and a good number of his achievements were on higher pressures. Yeah he was younger, but youth can’t solve flat tires. Having a bunch of flats all of the time is a new phenomenon that directly correlates with running lower pressures. I run “high” pressures (21 and 23 at around 165lbs) and haven’t had a flat on my mtb in three years. Could I get away with lower pressures? Maybe on some courses, but definitely not in the major US races. All of my teammates who ran lower than 18psi got flats in preride and/or during their races at all of those events. It just isn’t worth it.
@@MJLPlaysCODM Usually there r tons less flat tires in a single race than there, so, it's not like it's common. And every time, it happened in the exact same downhill, so, it's mainly a pb of track. Some criminal must have put broken glass + barbed wire + nails in some place. Or it's just that the had to pass on a rock that is razor sharp. And anyways, it would b more than just cocky, pretentious to pretend u know better than Schurter how to prepare ur bike. I think no living being can know even 10% like him, considering his records, stats, beyond imagination career. If u dunno and wanna know, I can quote u head all his records. Know them by heart!

Rider of the day, week, month, year - Alan Hatherly!!
sure seems like victor koretzky was the rider of the week

Great course. Kept it interesting the entire race. Bravo to the racers and bravo to the course designer and those that worked on it.
Alan Hatherly! Excellent comeback for 2nd place = 1st on GC...well done buddy.

Who is the lady at the beginning and why is she doing the intro to the mountain bike videos?
She is very creepy
I dunno but probably a former racer, or a sport's journalist, but y shouldn't she, y should't it b her?

Cool course.
Awesome track
Momentary lapse of conversation, not from the commentary box surely 😁
the heavy rain took a toll on this new track, just needs to be filled and ridden more.
Did they even show the crash? I couldn't find it (I was there in person)

why this new track is prone to wheel flat? HAHAHHAHA

When will riders learn that running lower pressures isn't faster if you get flat tires all the time?

they could easily have a can of CO2/Sealant to blast in the tyre rather than riding on a flat!
