By the way, these videos are starting to look better and better. This is how you get the public excited. High definition videos with good editing. One of the things that I think helped kill public support for the CAHSR (among many things) was that low quality, 80s-era videography. Nostalgic, yes. Exciting, no.
As an Angelino, I can say that traffic during construction is horrible but this video helps put things into perspective. I am more understanding of the construction and excited for this railway! 🚂
I live here in Melbourne, Australia, and we are also experiencing disruptions with Public Transport projects here. Our major one is Melbourne Metro, an underground line connecting the Sunbury Line in the northwest suburbs with the Pakenham & Cranbourne Lines in the southeast suburbs. Once completed, they'll free up space on the current suburban electric train Network. Level Crossing Removals Program is working at removing 75 level crossings by mid this decade, 30 - 40 now replaced by rail - over - road and/or road - over - rail. Collectively between 2002/03 and 2013/14, Regional Fast Rail and Regional Rail Link saw rural services between Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong (pron: "Jee - long") and Melbourne (pron: "Mel - burn") completely segregated from suburban electric train services in Melbourne's west to/from the Melbourne CBD City Centre (Downtown for USA readers), allowing for streamlined services. My point here is this: if those in Los Angeles can hang in there during the short - term disruption of construction, the long - term gains the city will have are immense. I wish you good fortune and good luck there.
Lived in socal for 10 years. Moved back up to the bay. I can definitively say that la Metro is improving at an enormous pace faster than the BART. It's gonna be good in socal when the lax people mover is built and connected to the la metro
Lol thats because BART is already very reliable. LA Metro is just catching up on gaps. The main one is connecting it to LAX. BART was already connected to SFO, & OAK airport.
@@fernandoacuna1471 I believe West Hollywood is largely in favor of this, and a large group is strongly in favor of it and has been advocating for it actively. In fact, I think West Hollywood threatened to not support Measure M if Metro didn't accelerate plans for the northern extension.
issac82983 Very much relevant to Nipsey due to the reality that he was set up n killed by these powerful developers with the aid of LAPD to take over his property, gentrify the area at Crenshaw n Slauson which is prime real estate aka a goldmine. Barbara Boxer, Ridley Thomas, Phillip Washington, John Fasana n the rest of those lowlifes played n playing major parts in tearing up the people of LA lives
In this video, the Crenshaw/LAX Line is colored olive green. But now, the line is colored pink, with the letter "K" assigned (following LA Metro's transition from colors to letters on transit lines). In other words, the Crenshaw/LAX Line is now known as the K Line, with the color pink assigned to it to prevent confusion with the Green Line (C Line) once it gets connected in the future. In the future, the K Line will get extended towards LAX Airport and all the way to the Redondo Beach Green Line station. In the far future, the K Line will extend to Hollywood, with Purple Line (D Line) connection at future Wilshire/Fairfax station and Red Line (B Line) connection at Hollywood/Highland station.
That would have been nice but metro has to appeal to voters. If this was a subway, it likely wouldn’t be a line at all because voters wouldn’t approve it
Great concept except...it's not a one seat ride from "train to plane". It won't take you to your terminal. You'll have to take a planned "people mover" for that. Still may be an improvement from where we are right now though.
Everything sounds perfect but metro has to enforce security! Is so disappointing to see people smoking pot on the trains and no one does anything! Sitting next to them and breathing all that crap! C'mon!! Is very disrespectful for passengers that don't use that drugs! And is not just about pot, is about alcoholic beverages, food, cigarettes , pee, trash, vomiting etc! You see some police walking around but is just to pretend because everything still the same! 😒
Xomanowar99 Making progress at the expense of black business owners being uprooted n even killed in the case of Nipsey. The plan is to gentrify Crenshaw completely n turn it corporate
I cant wait until this opens its going to be great. Now we re making LA into more modern city, catching with New York City. I hope they start making Los Angeles into more skyscrapers who gives too shit earthquakes that shit rarely happens.
Next question is how are they going to keep the homeless out of the restrooms and common areas of the trains? When it rains and you provide the "under ground" stations, is this going to be a hot bed for the homeless?! How are you going to make the rail safe considering it passing thru the "Hyde Park" area of south central. What about maintaining and keeping the restroom clean and graffiti-free of all the gang hit ups!? I live near the hyde park area of LA but take the transit rail on the green line. Despite an LAC sheriff substation being at the "Rosa parks" Wilmington station, I've seen so many fights, seen ppl get jumped numerous times there. C'mon LA, we need to keep our shit safe and clean!
Underground building over by MLK blvd?? That sounds like a total safety nightmare. These areas are dangerous enough above ground. As an angelino, I'd want those stops heavily policed
Cool a new tunnel JUST WISH THEY REPLACE THE METRO RAIL TRAINS IN OTHER STATIONS AS WELL JESUS CHRIST THE NORTH HOLLYWOOD RED LINE RAIL TRAINS IS MORE DIRTIER AND OUTDATED THAN ALL OF DOWNTOWN.
Joe Anderson Not really! Look at Blue/A Line. I have yet to see a vagrant and transients of the homeless depart on Slauson, Florence, Firestone, 103rd, Rosa Parks, Compton, and Artesia stations. They only depart on highly-crowded business areas that are connected to the stations.
give me a power line please from international Services directly to the are facts for the primary outlet thank you. As charge expressway thank you Siri casting charge fast charge now all plugins are plugged in now thank you Siri except for my headset no headset

It's a short rail
Same here. I hate it but I love metro rail. Red line and green line are the best ones

In that case, thanks for helping LA grow.
Ron Metoyer thanks you so much for your valued work!! i can finally see a future in la

when is the lax train going to be finished?

Which bay? Santa Monica? Morro? Monterey? You need to be more specific, as there are many bays.
It’s starting to take shape and look real - very exciting!!
Can't wait for the Purple Line too
And then... the Crenshaw extending north to connect with a Purple Line station. (That one will take a little while, but it is coming!)
Hopefully if West Hollywood allows it

As well the Gold Line to Montclair.
@@TheVideoEditorGuy6579 Fun fact, when that section merges with the Blue Line to become the A Line, it'll be the longest LRT line in the world
Awesome. Excellent job Metro.
Thank you.
Wow!!! Amazing! LA is overdue for a railway system. Great to see things forming
Shamtastic they have a train system, this is just an extension. There are already 100 stations
Bro this project has been going on since I was in the 8th grade. I graduated high school two years ago. As long as it works
Bro, I was in the process of being a 4th grader when the construction started. It'll be open for service when I become a senior.
The finishing touch will be all the Graffiti that's installed by the Gang members.
Ikr🤣🤣🤣
Hopefully a dope ass mural.🤣🤣
No Bitch, because if the white gentrification it will lack culture and just be bland like you.
@hafizul faizal shut your dumb as up.
We need a “people mover” to fix the traffic problem around LAX.
It's happening.
Coming in November 2022 to Brand new line.
Looking forward to the grand opening.
Excellent
Thanks 🙏 for good job 👍 👏

This will be a great line once it's done

Is this project still underway? Would love to see it completed this year.
Makes all the traffic headaches worth it now
Now build a subway line to connect the west valley to burbank/glendale
If federal government would provide the right amount of money.

They should have made the whole line a subway, which will be necessary for the future.

Not gonna happen. Metro is renaming all it's lines with letters. The Blue Line will become the A line, for example.
