Treating changing the clutch fluid as a regular service item is a really good and, you would think, an obvious idea - however, I am sure many folks would never think of this even though they always do their brake fluid / gearbox / diff oils etc! I will get mine done as I am sure it's never been changed in 15 years as still on original clutch! Thanks for the idea.
It would have been nice if you showed how you bleed the clutch, as some cars you need to do the opposite and back feed them through, only done this once and curious on how vehicles you have to do it this way. Enjoy watching your channel, keep it up.
I work on trucks and we back bleed all clutches ,personally i use an old washer bottle and a hose connected to the bleed nipple ,connect it to the battery and just wait till it fills the resovoir ..some peopl go manual and use a oil squirt can to back bleed
@@norb0254last time I did it with an old oil squirt can. Great idea using an old washer bottle, never thought of that, would be a lot easier that way, thanks for the tip.
i like the term Letterbox never heard that before and some cars are a right pig to work on give me an old car any day prop off the gearbox off that's it and nice doggy ,thanks for the video
Morning another couple of really good jobs done really well. Was beginning to think their was something wrong as I've not see you for a few days. How about putting a pull out Horning on the side of the van may help a bit.
Hi Barry! Thank you for tuning in with us. No, we haven’t left the TH-cam scene. We’ve just been having issues with our cameras hence why we haven’t uploaded. We have shot some but it is not on par with what we’d like to show you guys. In the next few days, we will be back again! Thank you!
Hi just out of interest.what are your thoughts on a sticky hydraulic tappet.? Is it best just to replace them and be done with it ,rather than try to clean them
I have a question, I have a Ford Focus 2 (manual) from 2005 and it has 118060miles on it. The clutch fluid has never been replaced, is it still recommended to replace it at this age?
Having been an auto-tech for many years, you will get fed up with crawling around the floor in all types of weather. You will at some point say you have had enough of that and be looking for a workshop ....
I’m sure I’m not the only one. Also chain slip is rare at very very very slow rotation. Correct me if I’m wrong? ‘Definitely’ doesn’t apply to this job then, I guess? 😂
@@themarvelousvlog How common it is, I can't say for sure. But I have experienced chain slip on a TFSI engine before. I rotated the flywheel clockwise (i.e. crank rotating anti-clockwise) in the process of tightening the pressure plate bolts, and it resulted in the timing slipping. Didn't realise until I cranked the engine and bent two intake valves.
Cars don't have clutch fluid per se. There is fluid in hydraulically actuated clutch. And that fluid should be exchanged period odically to prolong life of clutch master and slave cylinders. Don't understand what removing trans and clutch assembly has to do with the simple hydraulically actuated clutch system.
Yeah per se it doesn’t. It used to and a lot of people still know it as ‘clutch fluid’. Now it’s a shared system between the brakes and clutch. In regards to “don’t understand what removing trans and clutch assembly has to do with hydraulically actuated clutch system”- well, it is part of the clutch system, isn’t? This customer’s CSC failed and I wanted to show everyone what happened to it- so yeah, it does have something to do with it 🤷🏽♂️
I’m training John. He’s currently learning through me. Me on the other hand had loads of self-taught experience, trained and worked with BMW and Mini and now continuously training through IMI Level 3 Courses through ECP. Exploring L4 EV too but I’m not sure yet… and ofc TH-cam 😂
@themarvelousvlog two good companies they, you are very dedicated to this trade and you have fitted a lot into your young life, and a lot of hard work with regard to IMI levels well done
Burnt out clutches or knackered thrust bearimgs make my blood boil. Because they are signs of laziness and idiocy. Stop riding the clutch at hill starts when waiting at the junctio. Either that or buy a bloody automatic like most Americans (who cant be bothered using the handbrake either). My daughters refuse to use the handbrake, but they change their cars every three years. :-(
Has anyone ever refused to pay you after you have done a job like this? I cant imagine anyone doing that to you because you always do a good job, but around Birmingham I can see people doing it. What areas do you cover?

There was no sign of it, not even on the weather app 🤷🏽♂️. I took the gazebo out my van for the summer and boom, surprise!
You need a gazebo for when it's raining 🥶. Big up from Scotland 👍

You need some good water proof clothing guys ? Great work as always 👍🏼
We do have it but I think we need to keep it in the van 😂. The unpredictable English weather is coming after all 😂
Thank you!

We do have one. Just wasn’t prepared this time around. If it’s too windy, I usually don’t risk it for the biscuit. It can 100% ruin your day 😂😂😂
