In this video I show my budget lightweight cook system I put together for less than £50 and weighs less than half a KG.
I use this for everything from day hikes all the way to when I am out for 3 days and wanting to reduce my bag weight.
If you have any questions or suggestions just drop me a comment and i will get back to you as soon as I can.
Nicely done cook kit. I still have my old MSR Pocket Rocket. I rarely use it. I prefer the silence of my Trangia stoves and I’m never hurried anymore. I put together two similar kits as yours. One for backpacking and a simpler one for day hiking. Glad to have found your channel. Subscribed.
Thank you for the sub 😁 I used a jetboil for years but playing around with new cooking set up's has been fun, the trangia stove looks interesting. Thanks for the comment 🙂
Just come across this channel in my recommendation’s, excellent idea cutting the can for a little windshield, enjoyed the video and thanks for the information on the cook set, just subbed to the channel 👍🏻
Awesome thank you for the comment and the sub 😁 much appreciated
Excellent video. Really like the details, the cooking and a great cook set. Thank you.
Thank you 🙂
Almost identical to mine except I use a 1L pot (with built-in heat exchanger which takes 10-20% off boil times!) and it can take a 250g gas canister. I also use a Vango concertina wind screen and I've used that rig for a full week's backpacking with no issues. The little BRS stove is insanely good.
I've been trying to find a good titanium pot with a heat exchanger to make it more efficient, surprising how much difference it makes. Really good set up, I had been using jetboils for years but enjoyed putting somthing together myself. Yeah I am really impressed with the BRS stove and amazing value for money. Thank for the comment 😁
Very good video, thanks for filming and uploading it!
Thank you 😄 appreciate the comment
Nice video and well thought out kit. Thank you.
Thank you 😁 appreciated
great job round 2.can't wait for round 3. cheers
Thank you and thank you for the comment 😀
Joe, I think they use those spoons on the International Space Station.... 🙂 Whatever the case, good video, informative! Cheers, from Australia.
So I am nearly ready for space 🚀 I have my own spoon haha 😆 thank you for the kind comment have a great day
I have this same kit. I thought that model of silicone cups were fantastic. It would be nice to be able to get them or know how.
Great vídeo.
It has been fantastic to use and is my go to kit now. I picked the cups up from Go Outdoors in the UK in one of the bargain bins lol
Fantastic video, super informative thank you!
Thank you 🥰
Soto Amicus will help, you should try! - Honestly, from the german north sea shore, Stefan
I will definitely check it out 😃 thank you.
Good kit choice. Popular items. The BRS is a great standby stove, but it's performance is bad in wind and rain.
Thank you 🙂 It's been a good kit so far but I agree, slight bit of wind and makes things 100x harder. Looking into different wind protector options at the moment 😄
Nice neat cook set, do get a pan & a tarp, thks for sharing mate
Thank you and thank you for the Sub :) much appreciated. Yeah tarp and a pan is definitely on the list for the future :)
In my later years, with back and knee issues, and some money in the bank, I updated my old school kit. After my initial changes, I went all 'weigh everything.' That's when I realized GOOD Aluminum cookware is every bit as light as the more pricey Titanium. Too late. Love my Ti kit, but...
I do love an aluminium cook set 😀 just picked up an aluminium kettle for my alcohol stove and it's amazing 👍
I do love a lumpy latte ☕
Ooooo it was a lumpy one
Good job Sir
Thank you 😃
Good kit, need to learn to cook though lol
Haha yes 3 course dinner in the woods lol
Every time lol
That's no spoon, that's a spork!😁
😅 the spork!!! humanity's greatest invention lol
What's ur alcohol stove setup?
Hi, I've not tried out alcohol stove yet but is somthing I am definitely looking into for the future. I think I will get a few to try out and put together an alcohol cook set up. Thanks for the comment 😁
@@A1rdy ohhh..... down the rabbit hole mate !
@@GavTatu oh yes down I go, i got one delivered last week and the wife found me in the garden making a cuppa lol
While titanium is lightweight and handy to drink from but to cook with? Stainless steel every time. Titanium is awful for cooking or warming stuff up on. By the way, lixada is just the name on the cup but they're all the same, toaks, pathfinder etc, made in the same place with a different brand name stamped on it. Cheers!
I did suspect they were all made in the same place so just bought the on that was on sale at the time lol agreed stainless has much better heat dissipation for cooking, I was looking at some good stainless pans to add to my cook system 😀
Is that another new bag 👀
Yeah lol Osprey Sportlite 30, another one for the collection 😅
@@A1rdy you've got a problem 😂
@@1gg1nz no problem an extra bag won't sort 😁
