I remember watching this on tv and telling my husband these guys were going to go places. I’ve been fortunate to see them live 5 times since this show and I’ve loved every song.
The Ruppster gets a lot of attention and admiration from his fans. They can ....and have....substituted other members, but Adam Rupp is the heart and soul of the group.
My favorite group so far in this season of The Sing-Off. Their arrangements showcase everyone in the group, their pitch is awesome, they don't 'scream' their way through a song (like some other groups); just a great blend of 5 voices by some very, very talented singers; these guys are awesome musicians!
soimboredandtesting Oh dont give all the credit to Tim. That band would not be as good without the beat boxer and those other gorgeous voices blended together. Tims solo album was good but together these guys are phenomenol.
joan Jones no yeah definitely... but his performance is definitel what won them the competition. did you see the judges react to him in ring of fire and let's be crazy?
+soimboredandtesting The way they manipulated every arrangement to show off the bass was my least favorite thing about this group. Yes, the guy is good. But lawdalmighty, it got exhausting after awhile.
when the 1st season of the sing off came i thought "home free should be on this" (I'm from Mankato, Chris and Adam Rupp's hometown, so i knew of Home Free), and 4 years later they were on and won! It was so much fun seeing their holiday concert last year, that I just bought tickets for this year!
Ok, for the actual review of the performance: Austin had a really great lead (as usual). His voice is really warm and rich, and he has impeccable vocal technique. Adam I think is still one of the best percussionist out there (along with Kevin from PTX and the other guy from Urban Method). He sounds literally like an actual set of drums. Tim always kills it on bass! And I love that he has so much personality! Chris and Rob backing up their boys and holding it down on the harmonies and chords! Their harmonies in the top of the song were sooooo slick and just tight!

I am totally blown away! This grandma is smitten! The harmony leaves my heart soaring!!! God blesses me in coming across you by chance on TH-cam! From Oak Ridge boys to "Home Free"....feeling 16 again!!!!
Tim and Avi Kaplan have been making me love and appreciate bass notes in songs so much more. I can finally reach the the ring of fire low note comfortably. Started practicing notes that low because of them
I love these guys. They are awesome and sing such gorgeous music that brings up emotions in my heart I did not know were there. Usually my emotions are under wraps all the time. Home Free just takes all the ribbons off my emotions and lets them loose. Unbelievable. Keep up the great work.
Gorgeous and talented. Adam the stand out for me with his "So, come on!" and lift kick was so country-sass, I was on my feet ready to go. Great performances. Thank you for sharing, much appreciated. :)
I'm gonna tell my story of how I discovered my 2 new favorite bands, Pentatonix and Home Free. It started when another great A Capella singer Peter Hollens released his 19 you and me video, I saw Home Free and I was like "holy cow they're awesome" so I looked up their things on sing off, then I found their youtube which had their Ring of Fire video with Avi. I'm assuming you can connect the dots.
Malkavius2 Gaming haha man many years ago i heard of pentatonix by stumbling across their lindsey stirling- radioactive video and got hooked and all of their sing off things like all 20 of them and kept watching sing off and found out about home free etc etc.
+Malkavius2 Gaming i also went from Peter Hollens to finding Home free through the 19 you and me song, and found ring of fire wich let to me discovering Pentatonix and then their song with Lindsey Sterling who also sings with Peter Hollens, lovely how these circles work.
for me i first found out about pentatonix say something and radioactive with Lindsey stirling. Then when ring of fire with Avi came out i found out about Home free then i saw Avi and Peters "Black is the color of my true loves hair" So mine is backwards 😂
Home Free may be one of the smaller groups this season, but they prove in every single performance why they are the Winners by having each member be absolutely PERFECT in their singing position. Some of the other groups have too many be lead or supporting singer and it’s like they can’t decide each time. Home Free has Austin and Rob as lead and 2nd lead, Chris is harmonizing backup, Tim is bass and driving people berserk with his mastery of low notes, and Adam is one of the most amazing beatboxers ever! They are perfect!
You guys sound more like southern guys. Keep up the great work. It is 12/18/21 and it’s the first time I’ve heard y’all sing 🎶. Y’all are truly amazing. Thank you for being back old country sound. You will go far in life
i just discovered the sing off/home free a few days ago, and i've watched so many videos that mrduckbear's commentary gives me life. am i the only one?
G-g-gah!! Home FREE!!!!!!! I love these guys! Not a real big fan of country, but they make me love it. Every single of them is so talented...... and adorable..... I can't help it! Every time I see them, I find myself grinning my ears off
I have watched you all on 'The Sign Off' a million times. I love, love, love it........I am from Mankato and I am so proud to talk to people about your music and to check you out on TH-cam. Then they should go look for your dates. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Bless You
I wish I had been able to watch the sing off the year these guys were on but I had a massive stroke that year and when I first heard them it was through a website on fb and now that I have heard them I have been to 1 of their shows and I got to meet them and find out how sweet they are and what a great bunch of performers I am definitely a homefree freak
+Debra Jones - Wilmont They put on a great show in Dallas in May '15 but will have 5 more shows around Texas in October. See www.homefreemusic.com/tour for details, including a seating chart --- then get your tickets early!
When Tim starts rapping at about 2:27....Tim would like to say "Your welcome" These guys are SO GOOD! #homefryforlife #bassinmybutt #home free #teamaustin
THE FIRST VIDEO BY HOME FREE THAT I CAUGHT ON TH-cam WAS RING OF FIRE... ALTHO COUNTRY ISN'T MY FAVORITE MUSIC, I THOUGHT THESE GUYS WERE REALLY, REALLY GREAT... THEY DO EVERYTHING, AND THEY DO IT GREAT. THEY CATCH SONGS FROM OTHER GENRES AND MAKE THEM THEIR OWN, TOO. WHILE CLIMBING ON THE HOME FREE FANWAGON I ALSO FOUND PENTATONIX, MY OTHER FAVORITE BAND. I FOUND THEM BY FOLLOWING AVI TO HIS HOME BAND. THIS IS THE BEST MUSIC I HAVE HEARD SINCE THE 70'S AND 80'S. SINCE I FOUND THEM, A COUPLE MONTHS AGO, I HAVE CHECKED OUT MANY OF BOTH BANDS' SONGS AND HAVEN'T HEARD ANY I WOULD SAY NO, THANK YOU TO. I LOVE THIS MUSIC ANDI HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO IT FREQUENTLY. THANKS TO 'HOME FREE' AND 'PENTATONIX' THE BAND MEMBERS AND STAGE HELPERS FOR BRINGING SO MUCH ENJOYMENT TO ME, YOUR FANS AND THE WORLD.
I know I'm really late here but they actually do more than just country. I had the privilege of meeting them and watching them perform in Summer of 2012 and have one of their albums.
i remember watching this live and at 2:25 I knew they would win and that I was going to be a big fan. I'm a sucker for a good bass, and that's a big key to winning this show.
Love this group, their awesome talent (mind blowing), personalities shown, Envious of the fun and talent you possess. Wishing you this Group to group to top!!!!! Go Home Free
All of you all absolutely amazing. I have been having a hard time in my life lately and just watching you all brings me happiness when I'm down. Thank You All for becoming a big part of my life.
Logan Roberts Dude, that's your cuz?!? O.M.G. I LOVE HIS VOICE! What does he sing, 4 octaves? & Jewel said he sings 1 lower than most guys, so is that the opposite of singing in the whistle range lol? I keep replaying 'Ring of Fire'. Oh, and before I forget, he's cute too. (sigh)
Monica Collins hahaha it runs in our family....ya he is very talented always has been just finally got his chance. im actually about to start writing lyrics and see what he can do with them. but ya he deserves everything he is getting and it sucked that we knew they won months before the show started but couldnt say anything....but ya he is a awesome singer and great cousin. keep listening and they will keep singing.
Anna Schmult I just saw them live and he went way lower than the bottom D of the piano... he sang so low I could hear the individual vocal chords vibrating...
never really cared for country, but these guys have talent that can NOT be denied. MY GOSH they are AWESOME!! and i think Shawn is the reason this show got cancelled. WTF was that????
There hasn't been a group to wow me like these guys do. Its not just the vocals. Its the exciting way they make me forget they are no instruments. I would buy there music. I would love to buy videos.
I've been luck enough to see these guys live a few times. They are pretty great. I can't wait until they do a feature on the beatboxer, super crazy ability.
Tim get an xray and find out why you are able to do that. God really gave you a gift. Then tell us what you found out. Once again you guys are freakishly good. Can't be improved apon. And thanks again for finally doing Elvira for us. We were not disappointed and we got the Oakridge Boys with it.
I know this is a super old comment, but please don't let this confuse Soprano with Tenor for you. Tim has a crazy range, but Soprano would stretch six octaves instead of the already crazy three or four.
I am totally digging the acacountry!!! I can't say I loved the arrangement - they added elements of the FGLmixed with Pop version and I much preferred the straight country version FGL did. Otherwise, I am super excited to see what these guys can do! Thanks for posting these vids and feeding my Sing-off obsession when I can't make it home in time to see the actual show mrdruckerbear11!!
I'd like to hear them do some Rascall Flats, maybe some country gospel to really capitalize on that bass. It'll be interesting to see them out of their element as well.
Watch them with Jewel on the Christmas program singing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" - excellent jazz vocals. Would like to hear more of that.
And Covid-19 exploded their popularity all over the TH-cam. I saw them live in Charlotte NC in December 2021 at a 2,600 seat sold out arena and they were fantastic!!!!
One of my favorite parts of this video was hearing Adam yell "C'mon!" at the end. He just doesn't get enough speaking/singing time. I loved it.
Megan Grazman OMGosh, I loved when he did that! He is an outstanding beat-boxer!
Thats still my fav part too :-)
Megan Grazman Me too! I watch these performances over and over and I always wait for that moment.
Agreed. He's a drum kit. Underrated.
@Alexandria Hauser very good 👍
I remember watching this on tv and telling my husband these guys were going to go places. I’ve been fortunate to see them live 5 times since this show and I’ve loved every song.
They are all fantastic! Don't know why no one gives their beat box guy any credit plus he brings a lot of energy to the group.
Maybe he needs a cello :)
Denise Davis He really ties the group together in such an awesome way doesn't he?
He s d heatbox king..the real owner of home free
The Ruppster gets a lot of attention and admiration from his fans. They can ....and have....substituted other members, but Adam Rupp is the heart and soul of the group.
Absolutely. Adam is an amazing "drummer."
8 years later and these guys still have my heart!
My favorite group so far in this season of The Sing-Off. Their arrangements showcase everyone in the group, their pitch is awesome, they don't 'scream' their way through a song (like some other groups); just a great blend of 5 voices by some very, very talented singers; these guys are awesome musicians!
i love the bass' hair! its so luxurious, amazing
as shown... having a killer bass is how you win this show
soimboredandtesting Oh dont give all the credit to Tim.
Ok. I get it. They are without a doubt good but Tim is the icing on the cake. Gotta agree with that one.
+soimboredandtesting The way they manipulated every arrangement to show off the bass was my least favorite thing about this group. Yes, the guy is good. But lawdalmighty, it got exhausting after awhile.

Fo sho! Austin’s classical training has really paid off. 😎
That little "Whoo!" that Austin did right after they finished singing was so adorable!
All this time and I never knew you were local boys. You guys do Minnesota proud!
i agree!!
I am totally blown away! This grandma is smitten! The harmony leaves my heart soaring!!! God blesses me in coming across you by chance on TH-cam! From Oak Ridge boys to "Home Free"....feeling 16 again!!!!
did you got from bass to tenor 1? "yeah.... yeah i did" nbd lol
hahaha
I didn't notice Tim went that high during the song. He has some sick range.
he was like , " yeah , i did" like can't everyone??He does have some crazy range . Love to hear and Avi from Pentatonix . Love them bass singers !!
@@krisleimes They made a video with Avi, they sang ring of fire
@@qasimalam5850 Have you seen their cover of Mayday yet? He sings tenor the entire song.
Tim and Avi Kaplan have been making me love and appreciate bass notes in songs so much more. I can finally reach the the ring of fire low note comfortably. Started practicing notes that low because of them
yeah I'm here for the bass and I'm gonna stay for the bass.
Same, still cant hit any low notes tho :( kms
I'm trying to be a bass like Tim and Avi. It's sometimes hard.
Well, it's not like you're a baritone or a tenor and with practice you become a bass, lol. You need to be blessed with this voice.
Nekros97 Agreed. Baritone here, and its practically impossible for me to hit a 1st octave chest note.
I love these guys. They are awesome and sing such gorgeous music that brings up emotions in my heart I did not know were there. Usually my emotions are under wraps all the time. Home Free just takes all the ribbons off my emotions and lets them loose. Unbelievable. Keep up the great work.

I thought the same thing!!! Very cute and great voice!!
Hahaha, that was my immediate response when I first saw him too, Elise!
OH MY GOSH YESSSS
I died at 2:25 , oh my GOODNESS that bass! His range is amazing and he's so dang hot too. So glad they won.
That was fecking awesome and I've never been a country music fan. Pristine sound and motivating delivery. Loved it.
If you don't like Tim's voice, then you shouldn't like anyone's voice
LOL
Lol
Agreed
I would love to hear a bass off between Tim & Richard Sterban.
@@DazedNConfuzed58 Actually Home Free did a video of "Elvira" along with the Oakridge Boys.
I just LOVE Adam's moves.
I'd love to see this song on their next cd. This is one of my favorites and Home Free does it so perfectly.
THIS GROUP IS AMAZING! Sooooo glad they won! And, Tim Foust is AWESOME!
I was born and raised in the city and have a heart for rock n roll, but damn it this country a Capella group is down right engaging! Keep it up!

I just love Ben during this song, just like, moving along with it and like 'Aw Yeah, get it guys.'
Love these guys! Tim's bass is awesome, great harmony and the guy doing the back beat was solid.

The bass gets all the ladies... true statement
They should have panned up to Avi in the studio, I mean panties drop when he speaks.
I don't think Avi's voice is that low and deep. For a bass his voice is really bright and warm.
Who`s watching all performances of Home Free during this Quarantine?
Tim Foust is the best bass I've ever heard, this group was so damn good
i really love they way they sang. i don't really like country but i kept repeating this song. they are just so good!

By far the best group on the voice since the Pentatonix. I only like them better because they do country music
i got goosebumps listening to this haha amazing these people are!!!!
Jewel's expression at 2:35! Me too.

Otherwise, I am super excited to see what these guys can do! Thanks for posting these vids and feeding my Sing-off obsession when I can't make it home in time to see the actual show mrdruckerbear11!!
Individually they are all extremely talented. Together they are absolutely amazing.
Can we just talk about how much Ben Folds was grooving to them ❤️
And Covid-19 exploded their popularity all over the TH-cam. I saw them live in Charlotte NC in December 2021 at a 2,600 seat sold out arena and they were fantastic!!!!

I really enjoyed them on the show. Still liken them. Great voice's. 😃
