Mothers little helper, explained?
In game, when we do things for mother, she says things like, "he might get cross" and, "don't leave me alone with him" referring to the father. This leads me to believe that the father is abusive, and killed the mother. I think this for 4 reasons. One, she won't look us in the eye, maybe she feels as though she failed us, by leaving us alone with him. Two, she gets progressively creepier, and starts to reveal her true nature. Three, she never does anything, instead, instructs us. Four, she tells us to put bleach in the food, killing our father, and possibly his friends. Maybe she does this to get revenge for killing her, and to set us, her child, free. But that's just a theory, a GAME THEORY!
But can you explain why she says go get the meat I hid

@@tzukaza the abusive father killed the mother a ling time ago. The child has been having hallucinations of his mother ever since her funeral, not accepting the fact that his mother had died.
Today, his friends came over and the father wanted the child to make a meal for him and his friends, threatening the child with visions of his mother’s blood, even though he didn’t have any.
This snapped something in the child. They went to work, like a good kid would do, all the while with his mother accompanying them, giving them directions, helping them out.
His subconscious so desperately wanted to kill his father, and that caused the hallucination of the mother to direct the child to pick up the bleach as the imaginary blood ran wild around the room.
The child listened from the kitchen in silence as the father ate the soup.
Probs not canon, but I felt like writing a bit of horror.

Damn... Lixian really outdid himself on this one, kinda forgot that the sounds effects weren't in game for a majority of this since they fit so well. Plus the outro was neato...and the scissors-in-hand-Lixian was weirdly adorable given the context.

I actually liked Veiled. The immersion in the story was really good. Yes slow but a good build up imho. The ending was a little weird but over all a good point-and-click game 👍
It was weirder that Mark didn't get that the creature in the ending was the character's very child he was looking for, hence it's why the speaker man says a reunion

The scariest thing about the second game is that the parents left their two young children home alone while they left town. They should have had a babysitter or relative stay with them, but there was no mention of any. The parents were truly asking for their kids to be taken, I mean come on 🤦♀️

Note to the game "Black Eyes" That is a real thing that happens to children that are severely abused. The blood vessels around their eyes will pop and make it look like they have black eyes. That game had a very sad under tone.
That's not what a black eye means though. A black eye is bruises around the eyes not black pupils
It seems like a reference to the folklore about black-eyed children. Their eyes are all black and you're not supposed to let them get inside your home because spooky stuff.

I think the lesson in the first game was actually, "don't be an abusive POS and your wife won't snap and poison you and your buddies."
I think what happened in the first game was the mom was killed by the abusive father, so the kid snapped and killed him. Just my theory though. But yeah don't be abusive and you won't have Bleach put in your stew.

@Death Omen the usa version creates unnecessary drama and a conflict inducing environment between contestants instead of healthy competition. I loved all the 10 season of masterchef Australia i watched and couldn't bear more than 3 eps of the usa one.
