You may want to check the fuses to see if one is burnt out. You may also want to check the door jamb switch to see if it's working correctly or needs to be replaced. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Often, these videos leave out parts that are important for non technical people like me, but this one was wonderful. Was able to change the light bulb myself. In case anyone else has a problem of getting the outside housing off, one must pull out mostly, not wiggle back and forth. Took me a little bit of time to figure that out. The auto parts guy couldn't figure it out. Kind of funny. :)

The issue could be related to either with the socket or it could be the wiring for the brake light itself at this point.

Just got an older Corolla with some burnt out lights - Not an extremely technical operation, but I appreciate your style showing ALL of the pertinent details. A lot of car videos would have simply said "Take out the tail light assembly" and merely shown how to twist out the old bulbs! Thanks!

Test the power to ther socket with a test light. If there's power to the socket and the bulb is new, the socket could be bad. Hope this helps you out, Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Also make sure that the wire is disconnected. Once everything is removed you can try to wiggle it back and fourth as you pull on it and it should come right out for you.

If the two bolts on the outside are stripped you may need to find something that will clamp onto them so that you can remove them. A set of needle nose Vise Grips might possibly work.

Hey! I love these videos they help out ALOT! I had a quick question for you though. In my 1993 Toyota Corolla, the interior (I believe its dome) light works on the "ON" position, but does not work on the "DOOR" position. Regardless of the door it does not go on! Any suggestions? Thank you for your help!

Changing the brake light bulb, I didn't need to disconnect the wire from the clip at all. The light panel tilted back enougn.

  • @Mahle77

    Very Informative.
The instruction is quite clear, but I have not been able to remove the bulb
housing. In which direction the housing needs to be pulled out, for not to break it?
    Any pointers would be appreciated.
    Thanks
