Mara pushed Shoene to pay Jones which backfired. Why would a new GM keep/pay Jones after a mediocre 2022 season? Gotta be Mara pulling the strings.
1000% agree! Even though Mara says "go ahead draft a QB and let the best man win", that is just total BS. Daboll knows what a franchise QB is having seen Brady and Allen etc. Why else would they be doubling down on Jones!?. We're pretty much screwed until the team gets sold imho.

I don't know how the ridiculously rich trade favors, but Eli Manning, Kate Mara, and Daniel Jones were all handed "Golden Tickets". Granted they were groomed for their role early, but only 2 out of three made good on the opportunity...guess who didn't. Lifestyles of the Global Elite...sigh.

Assuming the defense remains a solid unit, this season hinges on Daniel Jones and the O-line. No way around it. Evan Neal can be a hero if he shows up. Ill gladly flip the greasiest hamburgers known to man if he can just turn into the Tackle he was projected to be.
I didn’t agree with Neal move, don’t like the idea of moving left tackles to the right
Its not even that its the fact he didnt participate in anything at the combine now we know why
Schoen and Daboll should be the guys for the next 2 seasons at least.. what they did in 2022 with one of the worst rosters in NFL can’t just be forgotten like that. They had 1 bad szn. Can’t jump ship like that when things don’t go right, and just expect a new GM and HC to come in and turn things around over night. Let them continue the rebuild. Fan base has to show some sort of patience man
I wanted the Giants to draft Wirfs. His price tag may be more than Schoen can afford
C on the roster, absolutely no way we trade for Wirf as you said he wants Thomas money and we can't pay bookends that much and still improve in the future. Fun to think about, reality is no a snowballs chance in hell.
Schoen is definitely the right man for the job! I like the trade for Tristan Wirf. Not interested Cam Heyward at 35 years old. Roll with the D-line as is. Give the young guys some room to develop.
Everyone here wanted a rebuild, and yet no one can actually handle it. Hilarious. This is what they asked for! This is the outside hire they screamed about! Schoen’s actually doing the dirty work and the development of very young players. He himself said this is a 3-4 year effort. And now they want him fired 😂
Joes player eval and drafting has been pathetic. Neal, huge bust, Thibs not living up to draft position, and out of 18 picks NOT ONE has been a great contributor.
@@billm7035 Kayvon got double digit sacks, but yeah, he’s “not living up.” Once he gets some help from Burns to alleviate pressure, he’ll take another step forward. If you asked for the rebuild and the outside hire, you have no right to complain.

Trading for Wirf could be fairly affordable because we would cut Neal and Ezudu saving money along with others on Oline
Same conversion “experts” were having about Andrew Thomas going into year 3. Give Neal the benefit of the doubt and see what happens. That being said I would do the trade for Wirfs.
Tristen Wirfs would be a perfect fit to complete the O-line...If Schone could pull off the cap space I would be impressed. If they took Neal and got him to produce I would do some serious head scratching.

It may take more time to overhaul the roster. I like this year’s draft and the addition of Burns. Can’t complain that here is nothing left but crumbs at this time in the offseason. If the Giants don’t win 8 games then I would look at the GM and coach. I would give them until 2025 to make the playoffs or at least have a winning season.

A lot of question marks and projections on this ‘24 Giants team. Biggest issue is RT. We won’t know what we got in Evan Neal until training camp. I have a bad feeling that Neal will not be ready. What do we do, move Eluemunor to RT and replace him with Stinnie? Use either Nelson or Ezeudu at RT and bench Neal? Hopefully the Giants brain trust makes the right call and solidifies this on going problem. I believe Neal is a bust and the Giants need to move on from him sooner rather than later…..
But we do know what the Giant's have in Evan Neal. What has changed? He hasn't worked out. The Giants have Evan Neal -a step.
Right now they are a C on paper. So much hinges on how the O line performs and whether or not Jones can play like he did and in reality better than 2022. The D has improved but the secondary is also ? Still. I’d love to get wirfs but Tampa would be insane not to sign him. The issue seems to be Tampas cap space at the moment.
Why do we see what the Giants organization can't see about Evan Neal. He has talent, but at the left guard position. It is insanity to put him back at right tackle. I have to wonder 🤔 if we have the right staff.

On August 27, the Giants will trade Evan Neal, the Seahawks’ 2025 5th-rounder, and the Bills’ 2025 7th-rounder to the Buccaneers for Tristan Wirfs and a 2025 3rd-rounder.

Im a 5 on the scale of the o-line and its all because of Evan Neal. I would be 7 if we had Elumenour at tackle and neal at guard

Confidence = 2 ..... they added two pieces, but when you talk to fans of their former teams and you look at their stats, neither of them moves the needle. Thomas has one elite year under his belt, but also has injury / toughness concerns. Neal seems to be Eric Flowers all over again, and mentally he seems weak / broken. JMS was heralded as the best center in the draft, but it didn't look like it when he was on the field. I have hope that he develops, but he is a ??? to this point. IF there is a way to trade for Wirfs, you 100% have to do it, but I don't see it happening, I dont see Tampa moving him for anything less than a #1 pick + ... and the Giants I doubt are willing to do that. I think in the end, the O-line will be the undoing of this team next year yet again. Hope I'm wrong
Everyone wanted this rebuild. And yet almost none of you can handle it. This is a 3-4 year rebuild. It’s only been two drafts. Be patient.
So you are saying the o-line will be bad for the first 4 weeks. So Jones will be injured on a sack or scramble. And since your entire season will depend on Jones looking something close to at least mediocre, that spells doom

By week 3 DJ will be top 15 QBR, not 32. All the DJ hate is a joke, and I like the rookie QBs, but all of them and 15 more are not better than DJ. A lot of Gmen fans, and media are comparing DJ to the QBs on some of the best teams in the NFL, and frankly if a guy helps you win games, is tough, you have to get behind him.
I don't have to get behind a player when he has failed through year 5 (year 4 ended in Philly..destroyed)...but I like your support for the team.

Because the coaching staff is stupid. Didn't learn from moving Neal from left tackle to right, now move Runyin from left to right and eluminur from right to left.

No way Heyward goes anywhere, he'll retire a steeler. Wirfs ain't going anywhere either. Like do I love the idea of a Tristan Wirfs, Andrew Thomas tackle pairing? Absolutely. Do I think it'll happen? No way. The Bucs would be criminally stupid to not pay him. When you have a top 10 tackle on your roster, you keep them paid and on your roster lol. They're foundational pieces, you build the run game through the offensive line and you build your passing game through the offensive line. How much protection you can afford your QB dictates what passing schemes/concepts you're able to run. you're not gonna run plays that need a long time to develop if you're QB is under pressure in 1.5 second and has to check down, etc etc.
Look at how well the Lion's offense looked last year, with their passing attack. That's what you get when you have not just good receiving talent, but two great tackles bolstering the o-line in Decker and Sewell.
Wirfs is definitely worth a 1st I would offer a 1st for wirfs.. also LT from Detroit Taylor decker should be an option too 19m cap hit just 5m next year... Evan Neal isn't it and will singlehandedly cost us drives and games and offensive continuity I seen no workouts on his IG page just his wack charity events literally no work ethic and as far as QB situation in the '25 draft it will be some in 2nd round getting wirfs solidify OL where giants will finally have a strong core of 5 and that actually would best OL in NFC east all of sudden even Taylor decker I say RT is more priority than corner

Qb is the biggest concern...Dj is gun shy, injury prone, turnover prone, and seems unrealistically offended by the Giants trying to move on from him. Dude is a huge liability
Qb is a concern but right tackle is more of a concern if u ask me. Dj is gonna play no matter what

Yeah not gonna get the guy from the Steelers. The Giants are gonna have to let one of those other D line guys step up.
Nah they aren’t on the hot seat. Next year it will be on him. If burns takes off the d line will be very good. It’s a work in progress. If you blow it up again after this season it will be a much longer rebuild.
The Roster as a whole is not good. Too much hope on rookies, players out playing themselves and players bouncing back

Agreed. 2 more years for Schoen. If this year is rough, okay, but by year 4, we need to contend. No reason we can’t win 7-8 games this year and save some money.
