Nice game this! The biggest game we've ever done was with 12 players. A friend of mine and myself have all the expansions, so we combined everything to make twice the max board. Problem was it took too long. After 5 hours people had to go home, so we gave the player with the most VPs the win. Now we usually play anywhere from 4-9 players. 9 players is the perfect amount for max board times 2. We play Seafarers, Cities & Knights, Fishermen, Rivers and Harbormaster. Did a 5-player game this Saturday; lasted from 8:30PM-1:30AM. Just ordered the Explorers & Pirates expansion. Looking forward to trying it. Keep settling!
@candycinema: red won. We hope to do this again with six players this summer and will definitely get more pictures. This was the first time I tried to do something like this.
We don't have a table big enuf to do this. Looks uber fun. To spice things up my fam flip the hexes as well as the numbers (sometimes the frame pieces which has the port). We then proceed to place our settlements on sea side and once everyone has placed both settlements, we start flipping the hexes and numbers and start the game 🤣
@@RichycreX my dad puts on a pity act when we try put on the nice numbers hence this method 🤣 my mom on the other hand hides resources under her legs to avoid discarding half her cards 😂😂😂😂
Alright. If anyone wants to see the rules I put at my blog, do a google searcher for: suttons of somerset blogspot and ultimate catan It should should up as a top link. I've tried posting the link directly here, but TH-cam doesn't like that. Enjoy!
We set out all the different cards that you can 'buy' with a wool/grain/ore set and then you get to choose which set you want to buy from knowing that there are a variety of results you could get. We even allowed the wagon for traders to 'float' on the water if there were ships there as part the road it can travel on from one location to another. Glad to hear you had so much fun. Hopefully we'll get a six player game fully loaded done this summer and have a new video to share with everyone.
I played catan for the first time last night, and the game lasted for a good three hours. We played with no expansions, and the final score was 10 to 7 to 5 to 4, I came in 2nd place.
You played for the first time 10yrs ago. I played for the first time last night. Someone 10yrs from today will comment on my comment and say exactly the same thing as I said to you
Me and some friends did this recently as well, great to see there are some other Catan fanatics out there :-) This was the first time we'd played the traders and barbarian expansion so the game lasted around 10 hours to 20 victory points as we had to figure out all the rules as we went. How did you work with the trader and barbarian developement cards, could you choose which pile you bought from or did you shuffle them into eachother. Also did you use the developements of the original game?
1. Which color did win? 2. The intro list named only three not four expansions - SF, C&K and T&B. 3. It was white vs orange and red vs green instead of everyone vs everyone. Thats the drawback of too big of a board.
Thanks for the info, we've done several games since than and we've had a blast! Looking forward to the 6 player video :-) Did you play with the cards or dice to determine the resource roll?
Hi I wanted to get the plastic board & expansions. I'm just not sure they'd fit the pirates and explorers and extension. Otherwise I'd be purchasing it. Any info?
Zane Sfrocket I doubt the plastic board and expansions will work with the original cardboard ones. All the sets in the video are the cardboard, standard versions.
@supischillbro... I sort of have a set of rules on this.. they're handwritten notes, but i'll find a some time in the next month or so to type them up and try to organize them.. it's intense.. each turn sometimes took as much 20 minutes because there was so much happening. It was ton of fun though
Which color won? You should've taken more pics. Video was too short. I liked Orange until he built a city on that gold island with the 11 and red took over longest trading route supremely.

Placing settlements before revealing the numbers on the hexes? Y’all are madlads! 😆
I think it should be a basic rule. We were always playing like that and of course someone was always really upset but it seems to be more fair.
@@zoltankrasznai5842 Why should it be a random rule.

Intriguing. I'm going to have to think that one over.

Yall are friggin crazy. That board looks awesome.
This is the most 2011 ever
10 years ago, that’s wild, i recently got back into the game after a couple years
This video has again been gifted to us by the youtube algorithm. Amazing how it always seems to keep up all intrigued.
I would love to know how you incorporated it altogether!
I still have to buy Traders & Barbarians, then 5-6 extensions and only then I can hope to find some crazies to recreate this. It looks awesome!
Thank you for reminding me that this song exists

this is underrated epicness
Holy cow, wish I could play with you all! This looked insane!

Only getting this recommended just now
Hurt my head watching it haha. Nice work guys

i recently bought a second set of seafarers and settlers. I plan to do the same for the other sets, thus setting up a super UCC.
Wow! 93 Seconds of my life that I will never get back.
What expansions are used for this video?
So....10 years now.... Y not do an ani game

Explorers and Pirates was released in 2013
Oh god. All of the expansions (at the time). Thoughts on the new 4th expansion?
I only have the 6 player expansion, it makes for a slightly and more fun game with more variation

Just play twilight imperium at that point

None. As game master I was able to make sure all the rules played out.

i once did pe,ck,seafarers and t&b all at once 4 p,it did not end good
me an dmy friends want the instructions on how to play this, can you send them to me
do one with the new expansion too.
oh and buy a bigger table, then play to 30 VP.
its kind of sketchy i would rather see a timlapse.
if you really want to do stop motion pick up the fps and keep the camera in the same spot
Exactly....snap a photo after each effective change to the table and don't move the CAM. Also, keep other motions like people, out of the photo.
you should have started with 3 settlements per person
dope

Oh yeah
I HATE IT WHEN ALL OF THE DESERTS ARE NEXT TO EACHOTHER, IT MAKES THE GAME TOO EASY!!!!
I would love to do this but sadly it's to sophisticated for my family for my family to handle😢😢
seems like you can get at least 5 solid games in that time... to find out who is the greatest..... rather than who can sit down longest lol....
consider it a scenario on its own and then it makes more sense and fun
