- Some Jerk With A Camera, Doggans and Spazz Master reunite with other friends to discuss the newest iteration of Disneyland's nighttime spectacular, FANTASMIC! And also some of the other recent enhancements to the Rivers Of America attractions.

Not counting Vault Disney, Tony hasn't done an actual review of anything in over three years at this point and he's still far better than Doug.
I would have loved it if during the Villains segment, a Tamatoa showed up to sing Shiny. I just love the idea of all this darkness and evil and Slavic Satan showing up then right in the middle of it, there's just this massive tonal whiplash of a giant David Bowie crab singing about how he loves gold. Plus i'm sure if you paid Jermaine Clement enough money, he'd sing the line "MIC-KAY! NOW IM GOING TO KICK YOUR HI-NAY!"
That could also work for Florida. I have seen comments talking about replacing the Pocahontas segment with a Moana one.

Fun Fact: The stagecoach at 8:19 is one of the original stagecoach ride vehicles from early Frontierland! And the logo on the door is a fairly obvious reference to W.E.D (the former name of Imagineering).

Tony, the most entertaining theme park reviewer. The many new ones have had there sense of humor but none are as entertaining as Tony. The closest seems to be offland disney but even he isnt as close as Tony

I'm in November 2020 and it still hasn't happened, although there's a good excuse for it not happening this year.
@@coolnerdlll6053 try 2022 but we have a pretty great podcast instead.
2024 and not complaining here, but I believe he said he won't be doing SJWAC again until the parks feel like they did before the pandemic.
And he's also said that he prefers doing the podcasts now because they have a faster turnaround time.
So I'm guessing some jerk isn't returning any time soon.
Which more consistent projects with faster turnaround time from Mr. Goldmark? I'll take that any day, hands down.

I quite agree fellers. The scenery for the new Riverboat was gorgeous, and even though I grew up with original Fantasmic, new Fantasmic was even better, and I'm happy a new generation will grow up with this version.
They need to update the fantasmic at Disney World !! The Pocahontas segment is sooo out of date lol

I concur with all your thoughts on the new Fantasmic. Since I sadly won't be going out west anytime soon I watched the premiere video and it blew me away (I just had to ignore the comments saying "The original was better and I'm never gonna go to this park again cuz they ruined it, boo hoo!")
As a former Pirates CM who enjoys the first movie and even bits from the sequels I thought the addition was pretty damn cool...but I agree Peter Pan has earned the title of being a classic and fits much better into the show, as well as provides a better transition.
Also, is Doggans psychic? Cuz I'm pretty sure I had the same idea of switching out Pocahontas in the Florida show with Moana with the canoes. I can see them doing Tamatoa by having his face be the water projection while the mountain is his shell through lights and more laser projections. Or they recreate Moana and Maui sailing with the waves and the sail be used in a similar fashion as the petals during the flower sequence. NOW WHERE'S MY PAYCHECK, WED ENTERPRISES?!
All in all, this kind of update is one Florida desperately needs, as much as I love it. Here's hoping they bring it to my side of the states someday. Glad to hear you all enjoyed it!
Also, i never found you lazy only doing California Disney. I live literally on the other side of the U.S. in Georgia! I'm too lazy (and poor) to even go to Florida. Your my only exposure to both parks when you can! I welcome this channel!

Fatasmic was indeed fantastic. Definitely would want to see again if I head back down to FL. It would have been MORE awesome if Mickey Mouse uses a Keyblade instead of a sword.
Amazing review Tony! Outstanding review on the Railroad, Rivers of America and Fantasmic 2017! The show itself was truly magical, updated and stayed true to the original source material, despite there being a few flaws. Disneyland truly does have the best Fantasmic overall! Keep up the fantastic work!
Also, I agree that Peter Pan was a better segment compared to Pirates of the Caribbean. Although it looks amazing, the Peter Pan segment was lit better and also fit the theme of Fantasmic better which is about imagination and fantasy. I did heard word that the Tick Tock Crocodile is still preserved and they might bring back the Peter Pan segment if the Pirates segment doesn't do well as they expected.
Neat. I missed Fantasmic when I last went to Disney World. Would like to go to Disneyland sometime, but I'm all the way on the other coast.
Good Video Highlighting some of the kinda of forgotten rides, and good that disneyland is giving some attention particularly since the west side of the park has felt kinda...empty the last decade- Fronterland is old and not to much exciting and new-but its bueatiful, and i am glad that there trying to work with that. You know if i had to pick The Train or mission breakout-i would go with the train. Ehh. I do think that in the kind of easy to miss what disney does best stuff.

Hey Jerk! Just got back from a Disneyland trip a couple weeks ago & wanted to know if you've ever walked out of a broken-down Haunted Mansion(?). I got to see the Madame Leota room with the lights on & was really geeking out. Disney sure knows how to set up string rigs!

Every Time I've left Tom Sawyer's Island since back in July, I always managed to ride the raft with Jack Sparrow on board. He always makes it super fun to go back to the main land(More so if the Sailing Ship Columbia passes by).
Fun Fact: The I See the Light audio was recycled audio from the World of Color Winter Dreams show which got replaced by Season of Light. Wanted to explain why the transition from Part of Your World to I See the Light felt clunky.

My biggest complaint with the new update is the change they made to the "and all the powers of MY IMAGINATION!!" scene. I wish they didn't redo Mickey's dialogue because the scream he lets out in the original sounds real and actually makes you think that Mickey's in danger. I also don't like how they got rid of the sound effect when Maleficent shoots at Mickey. It just looks and sounds awkward. But apart from that, I really like the new update.
I swear to every possible God I'm not trying to judge you for editing out all of the Figment clips, you obviously have your reasons...but for the life of me I can't figure out what those reasons might be. Delete my comment if you must, but... this is genuinely gonna baffle me.

The best place I can recommend to watch Fantasmic is the outdoor dining area at the Riverbelle Terrace restaurant.
16:30 what exactly is it you do at points like here for that audio? I'm guessing this is done to make the voice clearer with all the surrounding noise/wind but I can't for the life of me remember or guess what it is you do here.
Nothing, really. I use a Canon camera which automatically filters out wind (unless there's a LOT of wind, like at 16:16).
Just goes to show how badly being on the east... half, and only getting my Disney park updates from your State of the Parks videos and the Passport to Dreams blog has left me out of the loop about all this stuff. I had heard they were building something Star Wars-y, but I had no idea it was going to be IN Disneyland and not in California Adventure (where any "land" based on a single IP instead of a whole genre rightfully belongs). Much less that they were working on other stuff in the meantime. I wonder, are they planning to move Star Tours as well? Maybe they can replace it with yet another TRON clone, if there's enough room.

I get the feeling Tony can do a pretty good Kermit the Frog impression. That being said The Peter Pan segment was way better than the Pirates segment. I do miss the Queen transformation and the Snow White barge.

Random-ass Disney trivia that even Team Jerk probably don't know/care about: Check me on this, but isn't the Mark Twain riverboat at Disneyland the only boat at any Disney park that is actually powered by steam? I know the Molly Brown sidewheeler at Disneyland Paris is diesel-electric driven, and I think all of the other Mark Twains are too, but I could be wrong.
I do know that all of the Disney park trains are pulled by actual real steam locomotives except for the one at Hong Kong Disneyland, which uses diesel locomotives disguised as steamers.

I pretty much agreed on all your points on Fantasmic. I feel that they did a beautiful job improving an already amazing show. I do have a couple of complaints, though. The Pirates sequence was definitely pretty disappointing, I really don't like that they got rid of the Evil Queen transformation, and my biggest complaint of all (which I'm kinda surprised you didn't bring up) is Mickey's completely random exclamations ("Oooh!" "Ahhhh!" Woah!" "Ha-ha!") throughout the show. I found them very distracting and unnecessary, and really preferred Mickey being mostly silent in the original.
Gabe Valdez I understand why Mickey is making those sounds, but it does feel pretty distracting
MegaSoulHero Yeah, it makes sense why, but that still doesn't mean I like it. I would really prefer if they kept him silent and maybe brought back his old choreography and maybe mix it with the new choreography so it fits.
He made those noises because it means that he was amazed and gave him a little more of what people are like when they are amazed and they say those words.
If he cuts his hair he will look like the guy from toy story XD you should make a skit similar to that

I find it funny that you assummed we just hit subscribe after seeing that Nostalgia Critic review. Like, I didn't just click a button. I went on a SJWAC bender. It was a good couple days of complete unproductivity. And of course, it didn't help that it went up like two weeks after I went to Disneyland, so I was extra theme park nerdy.
