I just did this exact thing on my 2012 q7 …it’s the perfect video except instead of a flat head screw driver I used a cheap plastic trim peice remover off Amazon to pry open

FAB!!! Thanks! Dealership wanted $780CAD plus HST. I bought the part on RockAuto for Approx $50 CAD all in (Including Shipping and HST). Thanks for such a clear short video!

Thank you so much for this video. I have an HSE and my check engine light came on. I'm starting to hear more now that it could be something as simple as the gas cap is loose. However I was out of town and my fuel door was hinged by the actuator. The button that shot out actually shot from the side of the car and hinged the fuel door. I could see the problem but I was extremely panicked because I was out of town with my oldest daughter and it was getting late. Needless to say I wanted to fuel up again before it got too late. I ended up breaking off a piece and long story short your video was the blessing of the day.

My actuator shaft won't click closed anymore. Assume new actuator required also.

OK I have a very simply fix once you understand what the issue is. The rotating shaft has an o- ring behind to prevent ingress of water to the electrical portion. After 5 years or so it gets dry and binds the shaft. Solution is simply, get a cotton bud and apply some brake fluid to the shaft then operate it in and out to lubricate the O-ring. Problem solved. First check that the central locking does work on the door (test)
